I felt very welcomed. Sat immediately for a pedicure and was offered water or tea. Pedicure was amazing! I also got a manicure, she cut my cuticle a bit, but other than that it was great!

The place is so clean! It’s excellent service for me to do the spa pedicure~ The massage is amazing!!! I will come back!!!

I wouldn’t bother to post this, except not only did ‘Shirley’ injure me, but she wayyyy over charged me. Was in town for the weekend, stopped in to get a mani/​pedi. Started off ok and she asked which level of services I wanted. Chose the lowest ones without all the add-​ons, though she was very pushy about them. Asked her to be super careful around my ankle as I had a fairly new wound healing on the back. She proceeded to rub the damn scab right off… ouch.
For the mani, she kept digging her nail into my fingers every time she applied paint. Digging to the point of leaving marks. I asked her to please be more gentle and she said ‘ok’ and kept doing it! It was not relaxing at all. I couldn’t wait for it to be over with.
Went to go check out, and she told who I’m guessing is the owner, in a language I could not understand, what all my supposed charges were. Total came to $ 90. For a mani/​pedi. Are you kidding me?! They seem to have a system of ripping off customers. I went to this place because it looked clean and trustworthy. I feel like I left being overcharged almost double on top of being physically injured.
Go spend your money somewhere else.

This is my favorite nail salon. It is spotless clean, the nail files and buffers are actually disposable and the ladies who work there are quite lovely. Shirley is my favorite, her manicure is actually one of the best I’ve ever had.

Just moved to the area and was looking for a convenient nail salon. Gave this place two chances and they haven’t impressed me enough to be a loyal customer. The first time was solid: had the milk and honey spa pedicure. Was solid (mani even almost lasted two weeks!). The second time, not so much. I asked for the spa pedicure and the nail tech didn’t ask me which, but just have me the more expensive organic one. I let it slide. Then the mani: she rushed and didn’t do a good job of cleaning up my cuticles. Little did they know I have a basic understanding the language they were speaking and talking smack about how much people tip is pretty classless. Thought I was going to be a regular, but I’m back to the drawing board and checking out new places. Yes, physically clean. People though, not so much. Back to the drawing board of trying to find a nail salon. :(

This is a top of the line nail salon. This is my second time here and I always feel happy, relaxed and refreshed while at this salon. I also feel the same when I leave. I love that they are super CLEAN. They use disposible nail files and the tool to rub off calluses is also disposible! Shirley was my nail tech and she did a lovely job… I felt so relaxed that I was dozing off! My pedicure massage was SO relaxing. It is worth every penny.

I gave this place 3 chances (convenient location) but am done. Prices are outrageous for the quality of service … My most recent mani lasted 48 hours.

I’ve been their several times! People are very nice and service is also good! I like that place.

I think I have no problems to communicate with the workers there. But every time once I got there I saw they also no problems communicate with others no matter they are Americans or Koreans.
Honestly, I’m an valued customers of this nail spa. Because the first time I’ve been there is 1 year ago, I really had nice time there, then I keep going there like once a month. I know the price is higher than the first time I was there, anyway I understood.
Also I have went to the nail spa near JSJ nail spa, I can say that JSJ is the BEST around that area!

After reading all of these stellar reviews, I decided to drop by and give this place a try. I think your experience will really depend on who you get.
An older lady with short permed hair did a French manicure for me, rushed through it, and probably finished it in less than 5 mins. While it was drying, I noticed that she had left some of my old pink polish on the sides, filed my nails unevenly, and painted on the white tips with different widths and thicknesses. She was very lucky that it was Easter because that was the only thing that kept me from giving her my two cents in front of everyone. I just got home, and three of my nails have already chipped. You’d think a $ 30 manicure would offer better service than this.

We had a wonderful afternoon at this nail spa. Those guys can do anything with your nails. Very professional. And the massage also exquisite. Was there about 8 or 9 times and will go there again. A nice place :)

I live this place! Though I’ve been there just one time, but skills there r very good! I like my nails.
I live far away from there, but I think I will go there more often!

I was in town for just a few days and fond I had some extra time, so I thought I’d get a pedicure before going on vacation soon. Very friendly and welcoming staff. They helped pick a color and offered a grapefruit & honey tea. Everything was very clean, and the woman doing the work was very meticulous. 4 stars, because it is a little pricier than many places. I got the gel so it would last better at the beach, which was definitely more. Overall very pleased with the service.

I’ve been debating for the past two days whether I should write this review as I believe the woman who gave me my massage really tried to do a good job and I feel bad bashing her. Unfortunately, my knee was injured during the massage and I’ve been limping for the past two days (!), so I feel compelled to warn others that this is NOT the place to go for a full body massage. As a rule, I go to people who specialize in massage – I never would’ve chosen a nail salon for such a service, except for the fact that two of my friends gave me a gift certificate for a one-​hour massage as a birthday gift. I finally rationalized it («how bad can it be)», threw caution to the wind and went.
Pros: The staff was friendly. The room itself was very nice – it was clean, a good temperature, nice music, very dimly lit, good massage table with clean linens. There were several hot towels used at the end of the massage, which was a nice (the only nice) touch.
Cons: The woman who gave me my massage knew NOTHING about giving a massage. She did not know anatomy and physiology, so instead of massaging my actual muscles, she roughly grabbed and jabbed different parts of my body. I had asked for deep pressure before the massage began and she interpreted this to mean that I wanted her to dig her elbow into my bones and rub my skin super fast (ouch!). There were no long, slow, deep strokes to soothe my tight muscles. Nothing about this massage was relaxing; it was painful all the way through with lots of quick staccato strokes during which she applied pressure only on the downward stroke, going against circulation, instead of on the upward stroke. Twice I stopped the massage to ask her to please apply pressure on the upward stroke„ and twice she did so for about 30 seconds before returning to the physically irritating way of applying pressure against the flow. At one point she pressed down on my leg at a weird angle so that pain shot through my knee and I actually said, «Ow, that hurts!» I should’ve stopped the massage at that point but it was almost over so I let her continue. Two days later, my knee is still hurting. Will it heal? Yes. But should anyone sustain a physical injury while getting a massage? Absolutely not!
The reason I’m giving two stars instead of one is because I also got a pedicure, which was good. I WOULD recommend this place for pedicures. Just skip the full-​body massage.

Love this place. It’s clean, never too crowded, good manis and pedis. But what makes this salon special is the friendly staff. You know those types of nail salons where the technicians look bored, bitter, and you have a sneaking suspicion they’re talking about you in their native language? Not so at JSJ. Very one has always been sweet and genuine.
I mostly go for manis or pedis but I also once had a facial that was nice.

I like this place for a lot of reasons. It’s extremely chill so it doesn’t feel rushed or crowded. I’ve never waited. It’s extremely clean and the people are so nice. Although not cheap, it’s worth the dough to get a nice spa pedicure. And they give you a Hershey kiss when you’re done!

Being a heterosexual Latino male, I was raised that all gentlemen need to look clean cut & professional at all times. My career requires it as well.
After having a couple of bad mani-​pedis at other «cheaper» salons, I came across JSJ while cycling down toward the Hudson River bike path.
I was impressed at how clean & sterile their tools were & how well they catered to my sick mother. I just had to try one of their basic mani-​pedis & I fell in love since then.
In my culture we always say you get what you pay for & the price here is worth it.
P. S. All the lovely ladies are great but Zinia is my favorite. Her warm smile brightens me after a rough week in the office and hitting the gym hard!

I needed a quick nail fix up while at work.
Everything in the surrounding area got bad reviews or was way too overpriced for me so this one seemed like a viable option.
The salon is on a quiet block and has a very «zen» feel. They give you tea when you walk in too.
Nice polish selection and manicures are $ 15.75 after taxes. The woman did a nice job on my nails. They offer packages that discount the manicures. 12 sessions for $ 120. The salon also had other nice services that next time I’m back i’ll be sure to try.

Now that I have been here for both manicures and pedicures I believe I am fully equipped to give an update.
I don’t go here all the time as Cindy’s is clearly cheaper, but I go here pretty regularly for a variety of reasons and keep asking myself why I don’t go more often. They really are super clean and they always do an absolutely flawless job. Also, all of the techs are really nice and their color selection is vast and they have all the current colors you could ever want.
Also, the pedicure chairs are super comfortable and they are super meticulous and relaxing too!
This place is truly a gem in a sea of cheapie mediocre places.
Minor edit: I love the place but the woman who is older, speaks poor english, and has glasses does a really poor job on manicures and actually tried to mock me a bit because she thought I bit one of my cuticles. I think it was a language barrier thign but still rude!
