The machiato here is sublime. I had an egg, Paris ham and cheese sandwich. It was delicious! The bread and the egg were egg-ceptional(sorry! Can’t help myself). I think the chef makes the scrambled egg for the sandwich with some hot steamed milk. The texture was really light and and provided a nice contrast to the sharp cheese. Will definitely return soon.

Great local spot! Super nice guys behind the counter serving great coffee/espresso and delicious homemade pastries. Perfect example of what this place is all about — they don’t allow pets(as is the law), but they will actually take your order outside and bring it out to you to accommodate! Lena+Panineria make a mean side-by-side combination on 8th street.

Ordered sandwiches for delivery. Had the tuna on a perfect baguette with cornichons and the chicken/parm panini. Great sandwiches! Will definitely order again! Tres Francais

7:45am Sunday morning. Slept poorly… need coffee, juice, light breakfast. Stumble my way down the block from my friend’s apartment and walk into Lena’s…looks right. Take a chance. Well, the cappuccino is the best I’ve had, the fresh squeezed OJ is just right, the breakfast sandwich is on fresh bread, great cheese/eggs/prosciutto. Things are really looking up!!! If I lived here, I’d be going to Lena’s at least 2X a week.

Lena café, now they’re serving breakfast sandwiches … OMG !!! Eggs, Serrano ham and Basque sheep cheese on a ciabatta bread. The eggs were super moist and tasty, Serrano ham deliciously fresh, Basque cheese with a nice nutty flavor. It’s a MUSTTRY, best breakfast sandwich I ever had !!!

The best coffee in NYC! The triple shot Americano with cream guarantees the start of a great day. The croissants are so fresh and delicious. Great place!

I’ve only ever had their coffee, though they are quite known for the macarons that they serve. But based on the drinks I’ve had here, I think Lena is one of the best coffee shops in the area. I use the app CUPS(great app, lots of money saved using this), and I usually get their iced coffee or iced lattes. It never ever tastes burnt and reminds me of the coffee shops that I frequented in London.

The one and only place you can find these almond cookies from France. Now they also have croissants. But the star is the almond cookies or almond macaron. Nice gift as well. You may purchase it in tin cans as a good gift. I know I would be delighted to receive any size tin can of those delectable cookies.

This small storefront next to La Panineria — which arrived around the same time — is the sole NY(maybe U.S.?) source of Maison Adam(est. 1660) Basque macarons = not a sandwich like the French iteration*, but a very close cousin of amaretti. in other words, still tasty. No break in prices for buying any larger quantities, and a $ 7 card minimum. FYI Sandwiches and coffee are 10% off with the Village Access card *“just almond flour, egg white, and sugar, baked into rustic rounds that are sold as single biscuits”

Honestly I was shocked to see this place had such a high rating when I Unilocaled it post visit. The only reason I found this hole in the wall is because it popped up on my CUPS app(which I highly recommend by the way, it lured me in with a free coffee week and a $ 10 credit). I went in at 8:30 am on a Monday and the stock was low. I saw about two croissants on the counter and a couple of yogurt parfait s in a refrigerated case. Meh. Usually my app leads me to unique spots like Madman Espresso or Ground Central, so maybe I went in with unreasonable expectations. So I order a large coffee. I ask for a lid and the man who served me wordlessly nods towards the counter. I take a sip and make a comment that the coffee tastes a little watery, so he shrugs and says«you’re the only person who’s ever said that. Everyone else says my coffee is really strong.» Ok, grumpy, sorry for offending you. I know it’s Monday but no need to take it out on me. There are way too many good places in this area for me to ever return here.

Definitely my favorite coffee spot in the area. I’d walk 20 blocks to come here vs. the other various options. The coffee is delicious — and organic! — and the staff is always friendly and engaging. It’s small, but that’s part of its charm. A visit here always brightens my day!

A very nice small café on 8th st., and a welcome alternative to the ultra cool/hip stumptown across the street. It’s nice too, because when you come in you will hear French being spoken by the staff, and these are some of the nicest Frenchies I’ve ever met!!! Seriously really great people. Their coffee, espresso, and baked goods are all excellent. The macaroons are very good, but those are never my thing anyways, but they are good. The only down side is that it is a pricey place(it is Greenwhich village) with a simple drip coffee coming in at $ 3.25, that is steep!!! But, occasionally when I’m running late and failed to make my own coffee I will definitely stop in here.

I had the best cappuccino of my life here. The owner made it twice as he wasn’t happy with the first one. The beans provide an earthy, deep flavor that was beyond compare. It’s very small shop. Just go.

Owner is straight up from France. He got a nice accent and unlike all the stereotypes of French people he was really nice. They have a special kind of macaroons that are not your average Mac. They are called basque macaroons from the basque tradition and the recipe comes down through the family for hundreds of years. The macs are not soft like the usual ones, actually they are super chewy and hard. It tastes great but in a much different way than the usual macs. They don’t have the cream fill in between. Is it worth the money doe? It tasted good but not to the point where I’d crave it. The coffee is nice here and overall it’s a pleasant experience.

Juste à côté du Washington Square Park, c’est l’endroit parfait pour déguster un VRAI café comme on les aime. Café chaud ou glacé, what else !

I am glad this neighborhood coffee shop is right next door to the hotel where we are staying. The latte and cappuccino that I ordered were one of the finest coffees compared to trillion of the coffee shops in NYC:) What is interesting about this place is their special made macarons. The barista explained how it was made and that the rare ingredients were from the original Maison Adam, Saint Jean De Luz, Biaritz. It goes well with the coffee. The taste of the macaron was slightly chewy yet not sugary and good amount of almond flavor to it. By the way, I appreciate the barista asked the type of milk I wanted prior to making the coffee. Most of the time when I go to other coffee places, I have to be the one requesting the type of milk I want in my coffee. So thanks for being attentive and it does go a long way in my book.
