One Liner Touch-Up Bar

I thankfully found Jonny at the eleventh hour– and he squeezed me into his schedule– for a Monday morning photo shoot. He could not have been more accommodating, helpful, and FUN to work with. I immediately felt at ease with him.
Jonny has great intuition as a make-​up artist and was able to make me look like myself, but truly at my best. This is a rarity as I have had too many make-​up artists overdo it. He is a true artist. I will work with Jonny again for all special occasions. Highly recommend him for events, photo shoots, or just a special treat for a fun night out.

I booked an appointment for a Friday with Jonny and he sounded very profession and sweet over the phone. He even sent me an email confirmation. All was set for the wedding that I will be in until I got an email from him late Wednesday telling me he «overbooked» and asking if I can move the appointment up 4 hours… When I emailed him to back telling him that I cannot move the appointment up and asked him to confirm his cancellation he didn’t even bother to respond until I sent out another email the next day (the day before the wedding!!!). He then said it’s not like him to overbook and that he would help out any way he can but then referred someone else but now the fee is $ 100…mind you his fee is $ 60. When I pointed the different in price out and told him how unhappy I was because now I have to pay for his «overbooking» he responded by with «exactly, [that’s] „MY“ rate». He turned from professional to rude in just a few minutes when he was the one that made the mistake of overbooking. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. DO NOT EVEN BOTHER TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT BECAUSE IT WILL NOT BE HONORED. This could even be a SCAM: first booking at lower rate, then canceling close to the appointment date knowing very well that it will be hard to find another person in such a short timeframe, and finally «referring» someone else at a HIGHER rate!!!

I found Jonny through Unilocal (it’s a shame that so many genuinely glowing reviews have been marked «not recommended»!) and am so glad I did. I needed my makeup done for a professional portrait session, and Jonny completely got what I was looking for.
The entire experience was fantastic. Jonny greeted me warmly at the door of his super-​cute studio, consulted with me about the kind of look I was going for, and what he thought would be best; then he got down to work. He explained everything he was doing, gave me really helpful tips, and just chatted easily throughout our time together. He was very responsive to my feedback and the one request I had, and kept reassuring me that makeup should be a collaborative effort between the artist and client.
I left feeling completely fabulous, and stayed that way for the rest of the day. My friend/​photographer gave Jonny’s work two thumbs up, and later that day I received several compliments from friends about my makeup. I can’t thank Jonny enough, and I’m so excited to work with him again in the future!

If I could give 10 stars, I would! Where to start… Jonny is fantastic. He is a talent that once you find him, everyone else’s work seems like «BLAH». He did my make-​up for my wedding, along with my entire bridal party and the Moms and everyone looked beyond flawless. As a bride, my make up looked utterly amazing. I’m super picky when it comes to make up — it has to be right — can’t be too little or too much and Johnny nailed it. Not only on the trial, but the day of. Everyone looked beyond gorgeous. My mother and mother in law looked 20 years younger — they, along with myself and my bridesmaids were complimented all night long on our make up. In photos… OMG…we looked like models! As everyone knows, weddings are festive and fun with lots of dancing, hugging and even through all of that nobody’s make up moved. We didn’t even need to touch up throughout the night — and my wedding had an after party with even more dancing that went until 4am (Jonny gives a complimentary touch up kit to the Bride — it went unused). I can’t help but rave about Jonny in all aspects. He’s professional, punctual, friendly, funny, warm and made our getting ready so much fun! He comes with amazing make-​up choices and literally got 8 women ready and out the door all on time with fabulous faces. And think about that for a minute…8 women, variety of ages, skin tones, skin types, eye colors, etc… all done flawlessly.
Don’t waste your time and money on other people promising you will look like a million bucks… with Jonny, you WILL look your absolute best and have a blast in the process with a professional who also happens to be one of the nicest people you will meet! Special occasions, events or when you just want to look your absolute finest… Jonny is your guy!

I met Jonny 2 years ago, and I am a lucky one! I shopped with him when he used to work for MAC Cosmetics and I also took a Music Video and Television class with him at Chic Studios.
Jonny is an absolutely amazing teacher, consultant, and artist. He has great product knowledge with anything you need and want to know. His art is breath taking, clean and professional.

Jonny did my makeup for an event that I wanted to look my best for. He did a wonderful job, listening to and executing the look that I wanted. I was going for something natural but still wanted my eyes to pop. He made them really shine by using a beautiful green shadow that really brought out my eye color. I received lots of compliments that night! I would definitely use Jonny’s makeup services again!
