Dr. Gidwani is a wonderful doctor! she is kind and caring and treats my daughter like family. She listens to and addresses all concerns in a timely manner. Lays out all the facts and options so you as a parent can make the right choices for your child. She takes the time to really access your child in each appointment. no hurry rush job. Another thing I love is that the office is run beautifully. The front desk staff are amazing. I highly recommend Dr. Gidwani if you are looking for a pediatrician.

Dr. Gidwani has been my daughter’s pediatrician since she was a day old in the hospital. I could not ask for a better doctor. I am a first time mom and still learning. Dr. Gidwani never made me feel my questions were insignificant. There were many times I emailed her in the wee hours of the morning to get a response back from her immediately. Any emergency she has always fit me into her schedule. I went to the downtown office. It’s great. The staff is amazing and the office is always tidy and welcoming. We just moved out of the city and I know I will be hard pressed to find a doctor as good as her.

Dr. Gidwani is a wonderful, caring, attentive, knowledgable, and helpful doctor. We’ve been seeing her for the past 5 years for both our kids. She gives very reasonable advice when you have a concern or medical issue. My kids look forward to going to the doctor because they like her so much!

We have been using Dr Senkler since I delivered at St Luke’s. Over the last few months, we’ve been going to her for several medical issues my daughter has had so I wanted to make sure I left her a great review for her time, patience, and compassion with my daughter. She is always quick to respond to emails which is so helpful in not wasting her time at the office too much. She is almost always on time for appointments. She has even squeezed us in when she technically has not had openings because she has cared so much for our daughter. My daughter has suffered a slight heart murmur, an issue with neck movement and an eye infection. Every diagnosis she gave was right on and her recommendations for specialists and treatment have also been great. I appreciate her hesitation in over-​prescribing antibiotics and it has made a difference in our child’s treatment. I can’t say enough good things about her!

Had very negative experience with Dr. Carol Senkler. Both times I visited Dr. Senkler, she was never on time. She does not seem to care much about her little patients. My child had bad allergy and congestion, Dr. Senkler advised that it was cold and that I should give my child Benadryl to help him sleep better. Absurd! She literally spent 3 minutes with my son, rushing us out of the room, telling that we should schedule another appointment to see her if I need anything else, since she had another 2 patients waiting and then had to run to another office. Would not recommend!

Dr Gidwani and Dr Senkler are incredibly skilled and caring doctors. They have been taking care of my 3 children since day one and I couldn’t be happier. They truly care about the children and both are always available and very responsive. I mostly communicate with them by email — a real plus that makes my life so much easier — and they usually respond very quickly.
I feel this is the best care I could expect for my children.

We’ve been with Dr Gidwani for over 8yrs. She has been my daughters doctor since birth. Then when I had my son 3yrs ago she too is his pediatrician since birth. She’s the best! I’m so afraid to leave NY because I know I won’t find another doctor as good and compassionate as Dr. G… She responds to my emails very quickly and is always willing to see my kids immediately if that’s what I want or if that’s what she thinks is best. Most importantly my kids love her. She’s so loving with them; always hugging them and playing with them. I trust her judgement for every and anything she’s never let me down. I wish she could be my doctor. Dr. Gidwani is the way to go! And her receptionist Laura is very sweet and good at responding back when she says she will. Amazing doctor and staff.

My OBGyn recommended Dr. Gidwani to me when I delivered my daughter at Roosevelt Hospital. She is amazing! She has an amazing bedside manner, and is always so attentive and friendly to my daughter; she calls her princess, tickles and plays with her. I feel like my daughter and I are not just faces in her practice. She takes the time to inquire about how we are doing personally and remembers our previous personal conversations on follow up visits. She is very caring and personable. As a first time parent, I often had questions or concerns and she never made me feel like my questions were silly or dumb. You always leave her office knowing and feeling that your child receives the best medical attention possible. My daughter is 6 years old now, and even though we moved out of Manhattan and into Queens, I still commute in to see her. She is more than worth it.
Her office is a «green office» and always immaculately clean and neat, her staff is very friendly, and we have NEVER waited more than 10 minutes. Her office usually has same day appointments available and even offers evening and Saturday appointments. I have, on a few occasions, emailed her office and received a personal response from her very quickly. She sometimes even answers the calls herself!
There aren’t enough words to describe how special Dr. Gidwani and her practice is. We are so lucky to have her.

We had our two children with Dr Gidwani for four years at Our Kids MD. We’ve now moved on to other cities, Chicago and Tampa over the last few years and we’ve had several pediatricians as we moved. It is only now that we realize just *how* lucky we were to have had Dr Gidwani as our pediatrician for those years in NYC. She is caring, compassionate, responsive (responds to emails very quickly!) and amazing with kids. She also practices very practical medicine, doesn’t try to over-​treat everything, and is extremely patient. Even her office is great, they set up appointments with reminders and whenever we’ve had sick kids or problems they have made the scheduling easy. You would be lucky to have Dr Gidwani as your pediatrician, rather than some large impersonal practice that tries to extract every dollar it can from you by excessive billing and treatment. I wish we still had her!

By far one of the best doctors my son has ever seen. Dr. Senkler was so nice to my son that I was blown away. You would think liking kids would be a neccesary part of becoming a pediatrician but I have meet so many that seemed not to enjoy them. Dr. Senkler spent the whole time talking to my son and making jokes with him. He felt at ease and enjoyed his visit so much that I to drag him out. During his visit he was given the flu shot and didn’t even cry because she made him feel at ease. This is a kid who has had to have 4 people hold him down last time he was given a shot. Truly talented doctor in a great little office.

My newborn son sees Dr. Senkler and she’s been so fabulous that I felt obligated to update my review. In the 2 weeks since my son was born, we’ve seen Dr. Senkler 3 times. Once in the hospital and twice in the office. She has been wonderful. When the practice was recommended to me by a mom in my building’s elevator she told me, «Dr. Senkler is the kind of person you wish you could be friends with in real life.» She was absolutely right. Dr. Senkler is extremely likable and down to earth. But more importantly, she’s been patient and thoughtful in response to all of my concerns and questions. She takes her time with us and I never feel rushed. She is thorough and explains everything in an understandable fashion. She also has a great sense of humor. Again– I highly recommend this practice and both Drs. Senkler and Gidwani.

Dr. Gidwani and Dr. Senkler are wonderful! We have seen them for 3 years and only have had a good experience. They are able to see my children when necessary and can even give advice on the phone if needed. Both Drs are professional, warm, and caring. Highly recommend!!!

We had a great experience with Dr. Gidwani for the past 1.5 years for our two kids. We are only leaving because we are moving neighborhoods. She always responds directly to emails and after-​hours phone calls, (I have since learned that most practices have their nurses respond to a majority of the questions both during and outside business hours). She has always been supportive, friendly, and informative. I was shocked to read about other reviewers who had a bad experience. Everyone I know who has gone to Dr. Gidwani has nothing but positive things to say. She has a more relaxed approach that may not be a good fit for all parents, but I appreciated it and it ultimately made me a more relaxed and confident parent. We will miss her.

Dr. Sonia Gidwani is by far one of the most condescending and worst doctors I have ever visited. As a first time mom, it is natural to worry about your kids well-​being especially if your newborn has fever and is unwell. I went to Dr. Gidwani because my regular doctor was away. It was easy to get an appointment. When I met the doctor, she was so so condescending and kept going on about how I was panicking, treating my anxiety instead of my kids. She also wouldn’t believe that I had taken the correct temperature and kept saying that temperatures are different at different times of the day. I kept trying to get a word in that I took the temperature before leaving for her office, her response was that if I had to come see her why bother to take the temperature. Anyway, she went on and on and on, and didn’t let me get a word in. I would have walked away then and there had I not been worried about my kids and had to put them first.
Sonia was very condescending the entire time, she behaved as if she cared much more about our kids than us parents. Every single statement we made was put down by her as useless anxiety. She kept telling me not to make clinical judgement since I have none. I found her words and demeanor very insulting.
As a new parent, it is important for the doctor to treat each patient with respect, and realize that the doctor is not a parent and cannot care about kids more than parents. I found Sonia’s demeanor insulting and condescending, and felt that she loved the sound of her own voice and kept talking and talking and talking without letting us speak and explain why we were concerned about our kids. She also kept kissing my kids to show that she was so concerned about them while we were neglectful parents, a level of intimacy with them I didn’t appreciate. I could not wait to complete my appointment and leave. When I ignored her words and focused on my kids, she turned to my husband and repeated herself over and over ad-​nauseam. This is New York city, there are tons of good doctors, there is no need to go to one who treats patients with the utmost disrespect.
As for Dr. Senekar, I saw her as well. Her only comment was watch the temperature. At least she seemed much much much nicer than Sonia.

We moved here last year and had the daunting task of finding a good pediatrician for our 9 month old. We are so fortunate to have found Dr. Gidwani. Our son loves her. She is extremely knowledgable and patient. She takes her time with us, but miraculously never seems to run behind schedule. She is devoted and loves her work.
