Corned Beef Sandwich come out to a little over $ 10 with tax. So juicy and moist. Could not hold the sandwich with my hands, it was too juicy and oily. Fork to eat my sandwich because I’m a civilized person. The meat was definitely piled on high. There was a hint of applewood and some smoke in the meat. Very very FLAVORFUL. It brought my tastes buds to a whole new level of foodgasam. Will return for other items on the menu. Good for groups if you plan to eat on the street or fight over the one bench they have out front. THEREISNOTABLESERVICE, this is just a good place thats a hole in a wall.

I’ve only had the turkey sandwich(aka Thankgiving goodness on a bun), but it was delicious. Highly recommended.

3.5 stars… The place is expensive and their sides aren’t that good but the service and their meats are worth going back for. This tiny little shop is only a take out spot, there isn’t even a stool to eat at. My recommendation is head on down to Bleeker Street Bar with your food afterwards, they encourage you to go there with food as long as you’re drinking. Oxley’s had one of the nicest staff, the chef and the woman helping me were very pleasant to deal with(and not in a fake way). They always have a number of meats and sides to choose from, I couldn’t decide which meat to try so I got the platter where I could choose 3 with a couple sides. This was about $ 20, the regular one meat platters are more than $ 15 anyway. The little they had left of the meatloaf, turkey, and chicken looked like it was a tad dry and as if it was sitting there for awhile so I went with the pastrami, honey ham, and roast pork. Being I fan of Katz I was disappointed with Oxley’s pastrami which was but their ham and roast pork were among the best I’ve ever had, they were phenomenal. They even had a special topping for each meat(like homemade apple sauce for the roast pork and caramelized onions for the ham). For sides I got the scalloped potatoes and mac and cheese. Both had been sitting around for way too long but there wasn’t many side options so I went with them anyway. The scalloped potatoes ended up being luke warm, a little dry, and had a tough crust on it. The mac and cheese was overcooked and mushy, again not that hot. Even though there were more cons than pros here, the quality of the ham and roast pork and friendly service is definitely going to bring me back here sooner or later.

Ordered the thanksgiving dinner for 6 from this place. Excellent food in generous proportions, delivered on the day, all for $ 25pp? Very impressive, I shall certainly be sampling more of the menu.

Can’t go wrong with flavorful, marinated, slow-cooked meat. They have a whole variety: turkey, chicken, cornbeef, virginia ham, pork belly, roastbeef, etc. Another good hole in the wall that would be impossible to spot unless you were craving meat, or smelling it from down the block.

Whoa. Deliciousness. Chanced upon this place on a cold, windy evening, door ajar so the complex, rich aromas hit the street like a drug. Wandered in. The guys behind the counter were genuine, knowledgeable, easy-going. Bought a little over a pound of the roast pork loin for next day’s lunch at $ 19.05, not inexpensive in my book, but then I wasn’t buying a small amount in a sandwich. The next day, I warmed the meat to room temperature, and ate many thin slices accompanied by a glass of scotch and some chocolate(vegetable component of meal). I actually ate the fat, too. I rarely eat the fat. My friend heated his slices in a frying pan, but I found that with this treatment all the nuances and sweetness disappeared. So, yeah.

Was walking up Mott on my way back to my office in SoHo. Was just enjoying a beautiful Friday afoot in some of NYC’s few remaining authentic neighborhoods. I strolled by and took in the open front of the store and its bold signage. But what got me in was the cook’s friendly gesture and broadly unavoidable smile. The counter was full of what was certain to be lovely fare. He eagerly described each of the days’s offerings as I was just touched by how friendly and service oriented he was, a dying trait in today’s food service world. I went with the Thanks Giving on a bun sandwich, he told me it was their best seller, who was I to argue. After this monstrosity of a gastro-intestinal grand slam was consumed I felt as if i’d need facial reconstructive surgery… a dry cleaner… and a recliner and football game cuz DAMN that was one mackin-ass samich! So glad I strolled by and enjoyed a lovely NYC moment. Will certainly visit again… with a few more napkins… or pressed shirts, we’ll see.

The space is great — they created much character in such a small space. The food is great — Turkey Platter: think Thanksgiving in a box for one… two, maybe three, for only $ 9.50 + tax. And the people… The people I met were very friendly… genuinely!(So refreshing)

Stopped in yesterday… the guy behind the counter couldn’t have been nicer. Really friendly, patient, and cheerful, and to top it off, he gave us each a rib(and a bit of corned beef) to taste while we were deciding what to order. The rib was delicious– really tender– but we felt that 4 ribs for $ 10 was a little steep(without sides). We ultimately got the turkey sandwich with the stuffing and cranberry sauce for about $ 8 after tax… absolutely delicious! It’s rare to find such moist turkey… would definitely come back!

Stopped in randomly today when the hubby insisted on deli sandwiches down the street… I was hesitant to order something– wasn’t even really sure what I wanted to eat. The man behind the counter was super friendly, very knowledgable and extra helpful to a girl that was pussyfootin’ around the menu. I decided on a sandwich called«thanksgiving on a bun». Yum. The turkey was moist and seasoned awesomely… with cranberry, gravy(not too much– but enough to taste), and cornbread stuffing. And yes, I said cornbread. It was delicious. Sandwich was $ 7…priced decently. You can’t sit in this place– we took our food down the street to the little park. Decent. I loved lunch today.

Great for quick lunch. Pro: — corn beef was very good — juicy and tender! — credit card acceptance is great Con: — the bread is not great, and the onion filling has too much sauce that makes the bread very soggy — quite a mess to eat this thing. Luckily I brought it back to my office to dissect it — some real vegetable sides would be great

went for lunch when i realized i didn’t have cash for parisi. *oxley’s carvery accepts credit cards* –i had the lamb sandwhich (with spicy cabbage slaw and mint sauce) –the meat was not dry, but tender and juicy –the bread was dipped in the mint sauce, which was surprisingly delicious!(note *dipped and not drenched, therefore the bread was still firm/dry on the outside. –it was pretty filling, enough to suffice for a meal on it’s own. –great, friendly service =) i would get the lamb sandwich again, but i’ll probably try tasting the other sandwiches first. they only have a two-seat bench in front, this is a great place to go for a quick lunch.

So they might be a little slow, but I’ve had both the Turkey sandwiches and each was excellent. The guy who runs the place is very nice. My friend had the lamb and loved it. Definitely worth trying, especially if Parisi has a huge line.

I received an update from the store and it looks like they’ve changed the bread. I have to try it some time soon!

This place is good. I’ll give them credit for using quality meats and ingredients, but the bread they use must be better. Also the meat should be served hotter than I had. I think that would have helped this review.

On our way to Parisi for lunch, my co-workers and I decided to try Oxley’s for the first time. We all ended up getting the Pepper or Herb turkey with gravy, cranberry sauce, and stuffing on a bun. Since we went back to our office and ate separately at our desks I know our opinions were not influenced by one another. Bottom line: we were underwhelmed. The best part was the turkey(delicious). But as a sandwich it was bulky and cumbersome to eat(it has some thick bread). For my taste, I thought the stuffing didn’t add anything and I’d have liked more cranberry sauce. I’m a bread lover, but the bun didn’t seem to help the sandwich. My co-worker said that it would have been better just served on a plate instead of as a sandwich. Granted, you set up a sandwich shop next to Parisi, you’re going to have some tough critics. Still, I’d like to return and try their ham.

This place was good, not amazing, but definitly good. if you’re craving a good real meat sandwich and you’re in soho and don’t feel like paying 15 bucks for a sandwich definitely go here. I had the turkey and for less than 8 bucks you will get a freshly carved sandwich on fresh delicious bread. Things they could have done better: the bread was dry, maybe they expect the gravy and cranberry sauce to help with that, but they put all the gravy and sauce in the middle of the bread and dindn’t spread it out evenly. So i was left with a d elicious middle but dry outsides. Definitly give it a shot though.

Oxley’s Carvery is a reasonably priced hand carved meat sandwich shop, under the guise of a butcher’s shop. I had the leg of lamb sandwich which was for the most part well roasted albeit a little dry and served on a white squarish cibatta bun. Other sandwich options include turkey, pork shoulder, and angus flank steak. They also have a few sides to choose from including steak fries, baked potatoes, and corn on the cob just to name a few. Two doors down from Parisi Bakery, now there are 2 great options for sandwiches under $ 10 in Nolita.
