If I could give zero stars I would. I unfortunately used Papyrus for my wedding invitations and it was an absolute disaster. There were multiple errors on the proofs, they had to be redone more than 5 times to the point where we could tell the people handling our invitations were not pros. Our invitations were ready a month before they had told us which actually caused issues because the rsvp request date could have been set to much earlier on instead of last minute which was very stressful. We had ordered envelopes with guest addressing. They gave us completely wrong instructions and made us redo the spreadsheet which took hours!!! Instead of apologizing they told us «you must not be very computer savvy if it took you that long to redo them all» Unreal! When we received our invitations the envelopes were blank with the addresses completely missing!!! They actually sent someone to my home to pickup the envelopes. They redelivered the envelopes 5 days later than they promised and guess what?! The envelopes were completely unusable: city and state on the same line as the street and switched people’s addresses! The gold lining inside the envelopes was also peeling off! We had to handwrite multiple envelopes. What a nightmare!!! Seriously: do NOT come here, completely unprofessional and a waste of money!

I love Papyrus products and think they are fantastic quality for the price you are paying. Everyone has always been helpful, friendly and funny. Today was an exception. Called a handful of locations about an executive gift and all of the other stores were quick to provide me useful information and make recommendations. When speaking to Ann at the 54th and Park location, she was curt and clearly did not want to be on the phone with me. I had to keep asking questions to eventually get the information I needed. She was far from proactive about wanting to help. Every question required a begrudging answer. Customer service should never work this way!

The GOOD — Location: Seriously, a great location. It’s so close to so many lunch spots that it makes getting cards, wrapping paper, etc. easy enough to actually do. (4 star review simply for the location!) The LESS Good — Selection: you get a alot better selection online through etsy or other retailers. Depsite the ‘specialty’ I have been disappointed in their blank card selections. Overall, they gear too heavily toward speciific holidays with corny overly mainstream selection that I would expect from an upscale rite-aid. — Staff: They are nice. They really are. They just seem so incredibly apathetic that they couldn’t care less if you bought 1 card or the entire wall. Poor at suggesting items, helping you find new selections or just overall inventory knowledge. All said, it’s better to overpay for an alright card than to show up empty handed. Location wins my favor

This Papyrus sits in Midtown East where the extreme overprice greeting cards and boxed stationery breeds. The novelty items are rather mass produced and appear extremely blasé to be generic bland. The staff is measures MEH on the attentive and user friendly to acknowledge my presence in oblivion as a mere statute after several attempts to state my inquiry. As a avid scrapbooker, I rather create my own greeting card which spouts from the heart for creativity that is personalized.

Beautiful cards & novelty items… but lately it seems that Carlton is catching up in the design department. The selection in Papyrus feels limited. I have seen the same design with just different messages — I just don’t think that a Xmas card, a thank you, a happy bday card and a congratulations card should share the same design. I expect more creativity in play.

Since they closed Kate’s Paperie on 57th I have to shuttle over to Papyrus for my card giving needs. I am never disappointed in the selection here they actually have more of a birthday card than Kate’s but not as unique. I have seen Papyrus cards in Carlton stores and other retailers so it makes them a little less unique. Nonetheless it’s still a great place to get a card, wrapping paper or a small gift.

This Papyrus, located conveniently near a Pret a Manger and across the street from my old office, has great selection and helpful salespeople. Even though the chain tends to be pricey, I have scored many a bargain here, including a box of really great cards that spell out«Congratulations», «Happy Birthday» for $ 10(8 cards, cheaper than Hallmark, do the math!). They also have delish chocolates and mints for when you need an impulse dessert on the way back to the office. Only drawback is this is a small, sort of cramped location.
