Roman Malakov Diamonds

My husband bought my engagement ring from this place and it has been nightmare since then. They were not only dishonest about their products (Why would any respectable jeweler use the EGL International diamond certificate instead of more widely acceptable GIA certificate) but also provided a horrible customer service. There is a great controversy regarding the use of the EGL certificate (The video in the link is really helpful to understand the issue with the EGL certificate.
). I am suspicious about their integrity. I had another appraisal done by other jeweler and the results do not match with what they presented to my husband. As they don’t give you refund, once you buy their diamonds you have to play by their rules and you will be really sorry. I feel like ripped off. I think everyone who is planning to shop at one of whole sale diamond stores in the diamond district should be aware of the importance of having a reliable diamond certificate.

I have had the pleasure of working with Roman Malakov Diamonds for both my engagement ring and wedding band. I will never use anyone else. Their professionalism, class, and selection of diamonds stands out. I have never seen a more beautiful ring and have had so many compliments… Highly recommend!

I was window shopping on 47^th Street with my elderly aunt who loves jewelry. We saw an interesting ring in Roman Malakov’s window and stepped into the store. The «gentleman» manning the counter was rude to my Aunt. She asked to see a diamond ring she liked in the window and he demanded to know if we knew how many carats she wanted and what shape of diamond etc. She said «I don’t know all that I just want to see the ring that caught my eye» followed by «we are not getting off to a very good start here.» The rude «gentleman» manning the counter then said «If you don’t like the way we conduct business then you can leave» so we did. What a terrible experience to have my elderly aunt treated like a bum by an arrogant man at the counter. I would not set foot in that store again. The rings were nice in the window but there are 100 other jewelers on 47^th Street that we could go to.

On a street filled with endless choices Roman Malakov Diamonds is a stand out. The quality and design of their jewelry is exceptional. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I have been a customer for over 10 years and would highly recommend Roman Malakov Diamonds for all your jewelry needs.

Staff doesn’t pressure you to buy anything which is nice compared to some of the nutjobs in the other stores. I got a fair price on an engagement ring (which I checked) and I had no problems with this store.

My engagement ring and my wedding band is from Roman Malakov. I love the staff in there, they always remember us and clean my ring whenever I stop in. My rings are stunning too and the diamond is a beautiful quality.
I definitely recommend this place.

I got an uncomfortable vibe from the Malakov staff, generally distrustful. I felt they were rude and appeared uninterested in making a good relationship for repeat business. With so many jewelers available in the NY Diamond District, there’s no reason to waste time with lousy dealers.
