Sean came highly recommended from a friend who’s worked in the modeling industry for years, so I already had high expectations; that fact that he is also such a lovely person was just an added bonus. This might not seem important, but when you find a photographer who is able to connect easily, is at once professional, kind, has genuine passion for his craft and wants to help, the results that ensue will always be authentic, relaxed, and not only inherently you — but better. Not only did Sean take the time to understand my needs in regards to updating my commercial/​lifestyle portfolio, he did not rush me at all during the initial consultation, even though it was the end of the business day by the time I called him back. He gave me lots of suggestions and helpful feedback that ultimately guided me to make an informed decision.
It was evident from the start that Sean is an infinitely experienced photographer, but having also worked in front of the camera himself, not only does he have an uncanny ability when it comes to giving crystal clear directions, I found it very easy to just mirror his expressions and poses when he made suggestions throughout the shoot. It was so much fun shooting, that I didn’t know where the time went. If you are looking to elevate the quality of your work, or if you are simply needing a fresh, updated headshot, it is absolutely essential to hire a photographer who can give you the most value for the money. Sean and his team are worth every penny. Without a doubt, I know that shooting with him boosted my confidence and renewed my excitement so much that it helped shift my energy back into the flow, after coming from a couple of quiet months of work during low season. I shot with Sean on a Wednesday, and was submitted to 3 jobs by Friday afternoon by my agents. If you are serious about getting more work, whether you’re a model or an actor — you should stop hesitating and just book a shoot already!!! My only problem with Sean, is that he’s going to give you so many usable shots, that you’ll spend a few days agonizing over which ones to choose! Sean, you are very inconsiderate!!! Sean Turi is amazing! This was my first time getting headshots in NY and I was a bit nervous because I didn’t know what to expect. He made me feel really comfortable and guided me during the whole process. I had so much fun and I really loved my pictures.

The shoot went very smoothly and the photos were all ready for review later that day, wow! His space is open and not oppressive, allowing you to comfortably work. At one point I thought some poses were odd, but that’s where the experience shines through; those were some of the best shots.

I needed some new shots for a comp card and my agent recommended Sean and I’m glad I went with him! He was very flexible working with my schedule and gave me a call before the session when I had a few questions I wanted to run by him.
On the day of the shoot things went very smoothly. I arrived with my suitcase — options are a good thing! We started chatting about ourselves and I think this helped me open up and be more relaxed for the shoot. We chose a few different looks and went for it! After a few shots, Sean showed me from his camera and and I was very impressed. At the end of the session, I had enough great photos to chose from that I had a very hard time narrowing it down. I’m glad my agent helped out!
Sean is a great photographer and a great person too. He knows what he’s doing and there’s a reason that he is still in the game. I love working with people that are passionate and good at what they do. I’ll definitely be shooting with Sean again when I need new shots!

A fantastic experience! Sean did an amazing job of creating a comfortable yet professional atmosphere. He really cared about getting a great collection of photos and made it seem like we had all the time in the world, even though I had snagged a discounted rate and was only shooting two looks.
I was concerned that I wouldn’t get much of a range in a two-​look package, but his direction and lighting techniques resulted in amazing pictures to fit any breakdown. We took around 100 photos per look. Sean says there isn’t a number limit to number of shots, but he knows exactly when to stop shooting – after you get a wide range but before it starts feeling forced. After each look, we reviewed the shots on his giant monitor to make sure we got everything. As he says, if you like it on a 72-​inch screen, you’ll love it as an 8 by 10!
His makeup artist is talented and friendly and knows exactly how to work with his unique lighting. Sean himself helped me choose my outfits for the looks. I brought a bunch of options and we narrowed it down then tried them in the lighting with test shots before making a final choice. It was the best kind of makeup and style direction. I knew I was getting informed, professional opinions, but I also felt completely free to make my own choices.
I had a great time taking these headshots and it shows in the final product. As I said, I had a discount offer, but I would not have regretted a penny of the full price, even on an actor’s budget. These are so great that I don’t think I’ll be needing new ones for a while, but when I do I will definitely go back to Sean!

I recently had my Professional Headshots taken by Sean and they turned out amazing. The overall atmosphere of Sean’s studio is very welcoming, but professional at the same time. I would recommend him to anyone that is looking for quality photos, for any occasion. I will definitely be going back to Sean in the future for more photos. I would also recommend using Briana Styles as your stylist/​Personal Shopper. Her work really helped my photos look professional!

Sean is the best of the best! I shot the actors collection with him about a week ago and we had a fantastic time. From the moment I arrived to the moment the shoot ended he made me feel right at home. He has such an incredible style and eye for what will make you really stand out. He took his time in-​between shots to go through the pictures with me on his giant screen! He is truly passionate about what he does and it showed through every step of the way. The makeup artist Jenny was awesome as well– both were so so easy to talk to and I felt that I could really be myself. I am still in awe of his shots, he really does capture the essence of you. I also learned things I can take to other shoots– but if you need headshots Sean Turi is it!

A well deserved 5 star review, and some of the best money I’ve spent for my career. Everyone deserves a great photo of themselves to remind them of what’s inside and that everyone is beautiful, and with Sean I have those great photos for life.
I had selected Sean on the basis of the Unilocal reviews, the videos on his site where he walks people through his philosophy and process, and of course his photos. Like most introverts, the idea of getting a photo is a little daunting — I have a few features I’d like to Photoshop into oblivion, but I knew I needed something modern to take me to the next level in my personal branding. Thanks to Sean’s work, I’ve definitely leveled up, and how!
Sean’s studio is a professional set up with all the tools he needs to create a great photo — so both traditional backdrops but also natural sunlight, which as you’ll see in a second, really helped seal the deal on my photos. First off, a word on Jenni, one of the makeup artists Sean works with. I know people may feel like makeup is something they can do themselves, but I know that a trained artist in any field is someone you trust to do their job since they have the knowledge and tools to make something even better. Jenni’s skills were perfect for what I needed, and she created makeup and hair that definitely highlighted what I would look like on film and balanced professional and edgy. As well as being a consummate professional, she was a joy and fun person to work with.
Sean — well, I love watching an artist at work, and he truly is one. Photography — and good photography — is something we all take for granted in an age of smart phones and Instagrams, and I found that Sean took so many great photos of me during the session I now have to figure out what to select, which is a great problem to have. He took great care to find out what kind of photo philosophy I was aiming for, what lighting and setup for poses would work, and even helping to advise on outfits and steam cleaning my jacket. His creative direction on what kind of poses and facial expressions and where to look really helped capture my personality, and made what could be a basic ‘corporate head shot’ into something more interesting and fun to look at. He gave me the artistic direction to set up great shots, and really captured what I wanted — professional, creative, human looking photos. I look at the photos and see that he’s captured my personality on film, and as a person being photographed, you can’t ask for much more than that. I especially love the lighting that he created, which feels contemporary and immediate — and very personable, which makes for a distinctive and beautiful photo very much in a classic Renaissance vein, but still very New York, 2014. He’s like Caravaggio with a lens, as you can see from my head shot in my profile photo. I paid for my photos on Square, and had them on my hard drive within the day, so super efficient. I’m sure he also has mad Photoshop skills, but honestly I don’t think I’ll ever need any retouching with the photos because they’ve captured who I am, and I don’t need to change them.
As much as I love the 100+ photos he ended up capturing, those photos came about because he put me at ease, and his direction and calmness quickly destroyed any hesitations I had about having a photo taken. He conveyed that a great photo is about the personality that’s in a person’s eyes, and having a photographer that captures those eyes and relaxes you is a joy. I felt so relaxed working with this team, I have no hesitation on recommending them to anyone who needs a photo, and he’s even got me thinking about how fun a more editorial type ‘fun’ shoot would be. If someone can work an introvert and get that introvert excited about getting their photo taken in the future, well, that should tell you how much fun I had right there and sell you on Sean’s services.

Sean is simply amazing!!! He is so kind and very informative. His directions are clear and his studio is SO BEAUTIFUL. We shot outside and I was so upset I didn’t take a picture of the scenery because it was absolutely gorgeous! His makeup artist Jenni and wardrobe assistant Briana were also truly wonderful to work with; they simply made the session quick and fun and taught me a lot. Go to Sean!!! :)

We cannot thank Sean Turi Photography enough for such a wonderful session. Ali and Aidan couldn’t stop talking about how much fun they had and how much they want to do it again. From the moment we walked into the studio Aidan and Ali felt like they were at home. It’s like you knew exactly how to make them feel at ease. Briana was just like a big sister to them. Without even meeting them, Briana chose the most perfect outfits for them and made them look spectacular. The pictures are more than we could have ever hoped for! Had my stage actor collection with Sean a week ago and had a great time in the studio. The setting, the man himself and even the conversation during the takes made everything about it relaxed. After each look, he would show me my face on his HUUGE ass screen and just as I was expecting to cringe staring at myself, I couldn’t get my eye off them! I heard about Sean Turi Photography through a friend, and as a stage actor hoping to make the transition to screen, his Actor’s Collection was just what I wanted for my new headshots.
The experience was great from the very beginning-​I spoke to Kevin on the phone, and he really worked to find out exactly what I was looking for from these photos. I felt like I went into the shoot knowing that we were all on the same page, which was very encouraging.
As soon as arrived, Sean and Kayle (the fantastic hair/​makeup artist) put me right at ease. Sean was great about communicating, and would pull up pictures during and after each look, and within the first few shots, I knew I was getting exactly what I wanted. Kayle stayed on hand throughout to do touchups, and by the end, I felt like I not only had a variety of headshots to choose from, but pictures that would also translate well to my website and serve my needs as an actor.
The best part was that I had my photos available to me that evening via Dropbox-​I was able to go through each individual look as well as my favorites, and select my choices for retouching right away.
I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend Sean as your go-​to headshot photographer. His professionalism and charm make him a pleasure to work with, and the quality of the results speaks for itself.

I purchased a LivingSocial coupon because I wanted some professional headshots for work (I am an attorney). Sean was superb at every stage of the process. I called on a Sunday expecting to get an office voicemail and a callback on Monday; instead, Sean called me back 20 minutes later. We scheduled a shoot for two weeks out and he called to remind me 2 days earlier.
When I arrived, he helped me choose a tie and adjust my outfit. We shot for about half an hour and Sean explained every step along the way. The shoot itself was natural and the conversation pleasant. At no point did I feel rushed.
When the shoot concluded, Sean and I went over the 60+ photos. I was amazed to see how good most of the shots were; I do NOT look this good. Together, we picked a few that were outstanding and I asked Sean to retouch them (for an additional fee). Sean provided all of the images in high resolution immediately via DropBox, and did the retouching the same day.
Sean was courteous, professional, and the images were fantastic. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
