Normal subway station but I love this location so I like it… Easy to get through and love the underpass, minus If you have to take the elevator for any reason… Terrible terribly smelling and dirty urine covered elevator… Great option to get from downtown to uptown trains though. A normal subway station… Nothing special… Dirty but works :)

Just like most of the other subway stations: it’s hot in the summer, old, and dirty. This station also closes on occasion during evenings & weekends. However, if you look around you are likely to see more of the subway art that NYC is famous for.

This local subway station is great in that its underpass is still open. Some people refuse to use the underpasses in subway stations because they see them as easy traps unless you can run very fast (and even then…) I don’t think I’d try to negotiate it except during daytime hours, but it’s great to still have the option of changing between the uptown and downtown trains if you make a wrong turn.
It’s also unrenovated, with the original glass tiles and yellow wood railings. Its platform was lengthened some time ago, and you can see that some of the tile mosaics – while good – aren’t the same as the original signage.
