Worst Starbucks ever. Tiny and crowded. There is often one staff manning the cash register and one as the barista, and three people in the back doing god knows what. If you go in the afternoon, 80% of the time there is no milk or half & half on the milk counter. Two of the staff members are terrific(Devi and the awesome girl, Malikea) — both and fast and attentive(and Malikea really lights up your day with her greetings). The rest all seem to hate their job(Miss D is the worst). For a basic cup of coffee, you have to specify what kind of roast you want. I was in a hurry once and just said a tall coffee(rather than a tall Pike), and they gave me a blonde — I would not bother going to a Starbucks if I want some diluted crap like the blonde.

Malika is the North Star amongst the other shining employees at this location. This is the only Starbucks that consistently carries the spinach savory foldover and when they are out Malika is genuinely upset for me. She knows regular clientele by name and is always complimentary. I am not a morning person but it is difficult to be grumpy around her. She is an exemplary employee who works hard and deserves recognition!

Bad hours and slow service. This location doesn’t stay open late on weekends and it takes a very long time to get drinks during the workday. Recommend going to Pret 1 block away(lex and 41) or Starbucks 2 blocks away(lex and 40).

This Starbucks is totally off the grid — very renegade. First of all, the employees are always playing hip-hop music(definitely not corporate-approved); occasionally you’ll hear commercials as well. The drip coffee is weaker here than elsewhere. Sometimes during peak hours you’ll see employees hanging out in the back as the line grows and grows. Quite often the cashier will take my drip coffee order, and then just assumes someone heard the order and will make it… so I wait there patiently until I’m asked, «what are you waiting for again?» Ugh. The flow is ridiculous as others have mentioned…

I LOVE this Starbucks because each time I have been they have the friendliest staff ever! Also love the pumpkin coffee from here… will be sad when it goes away.

This Starbucks is so tiny I don’t even know which way is up. Walk in — Who are you? Who are you? Why are you there? Did you order? Is this the line to make a coffee? Pick up drinks? Do a headstand? Blab on the phone for no particular reason? Despite its size and AM crowds, I still come here most mornings. It is the closest SB to my office, and the people that run the place are VERY nice, often making an effort to remember your name and you drink of choice. Here’s the run of show: –Walk in, swerve left. If you hit the chairs, you’ve gone too far. –Notice where people are looking. If they are looking towards the cashier, that’s the order line. Looking towards the right wall? Waiting for coffee. Looking at their phone? Crapshoot. Looking at the floor? Check for a pulse. –Order up, pay with your preferred method. –Somehow make your way to the pickup area, throw some milk in that cup and head out. Oh, and they usually have food samples to give out at the register. So if you want coffee AND have an insatiable craving for 1⁄6 of a pastry, this place will blow your mind.

Very small location. The flow is very confusing. I wasn’t exactly sure where to stand in line. Neither did the person behind me who almost cut the line. I don’t think that I have a complicated order, but I had to repeat it to the barista 3 times. After all of that, they still got my order wrong. The drink did however come out in a timely fashion.

I’m not very fond of this Starbucks, which is too bad because I work in the building next door. First of all, I like my coffee bold and strong. Starbucks’ coffee in general is well below the superior local competition for me, behind Lucid, Gregory’s, Rize and Oren’s. But this Starbucks is particularly frustrating. The staff are nice enough. But the shop is incredibly small, even for Manhattan. It takes some skilled choreography to order, pick up, add condiments and leave the shop without spilling all over yourself or someone else. But the worst is, I haven’t a clue where they get their pastries! They are not like at any other Starbucks I’ve been to. Usually the food at Starbucks is top-notch, but the offerings here are… just weird, or maybe they’re just named improperly. For example, I love a good scone. A good scone(to me) is lightly sugared and almost a biscuit-like texture. It should hold up to the dark coffee with a complex mouth-feel and be crunchy around the edges. The so-called scones sold here are overly sweet with the consistency of sponge cake, and dissolve in your mouth with a sip of coffee. Blech! I tried another bakery item here, and had the same experience: it wasn’t what I expected it to be. Very strange. I can’t remember what it was, at the moment. That in itself should tell you something.

I always come to enjoy a fresh hot coffee to this place while Amy gets out of work. Medium black coffee; I add low portions of sugar, chocolate and cinnamon flavor to get a delicious one. Have a seat and pull out my laptop to use the free Wi-Fi till’ 5pm.

This starbucks wasn’t so great… I don’t necessarily blame them; it’s a really small location, closes early on saturday, and it’s even closed on Sundays entirely. The lady in front of me waited for the 3 people behind me to get their drinks before hers came out(it was just a cappuccino). I order a grande, iced caramel macchiato with nonfat milk and an extra shot of espresso and the employee taking my order just shouted out… 1 grande iced caramel macchiato. It was plenty quiet in terms of customers and I only ordered 1 drink, yet half my order was disregarded. A second time, I ordered a tall caramel macchiato with nonfat milk and instead they gave me a SKINNY caramel macchiato, which I am definitely not a fan of. Yet another time, I ordered a tall caramel macchiato with nonfat milk and they gave me soy milk. I think this place just doesn’t carry skim milk or something…

Really small location, looks like a closet almost. It has all the same amenities as a regular starbucks would, they make all kinds of drinks. I asked for a ristretto and the girl behind the counter didn’t really know what it was which is fine because ristretto isnt a popular drink. The other barista told her how to make it. It went smoothly, not a whole lot of people when I went, but a cool starbucks to pop in for a drink.

Still working out the kinks… This is one of the smaller Starbucks I’ve been to. They still make all of the fraps, macciatos and lattes you could ask for. This review follows my second visit, which was during their frap happy hour. The place was packed and at least one of the employees was making everyone behind the counter look bad. I saw 10+ drinks ordered after mine go out first. After a 15+ minute wait, I was given a free drink coupon and a super sized version of my beverage.
