I bought a coffee here as a courtesy because I was going to use the restroom, which are tough to find in that neighborhood. I go to use the washroom, and they have one of those code padlocks on it. So I walk over to the barista, and his a s s says«employee only.» I ask him to repeat himself. Again, this guy says«employee only.» I explain I bought the coffee as a courtesy to use the washroom. I now have a 5 dollar coffee I don’t want and nowhere to use the restroom. Whoever the general manager is should be canned immediately. Absolutely ridiculous. The barista proceeded not to apologize, but told me to walk to a different public restroom over a block down. So apparently, I have to go to a whole different place to get customer service. That’s cool, I’ll keep going there and avoid your store. Worst. Starbucks.

Who reviews a Starbucks, right? Nothing to say about the coffee/food because it’s the same as every other location, on every other block. But I have to say this location is pretty sad when it comes to service and efficiency. I work in the neighborhood and there are 2 Sbux equidistant from my office. I thought I’d learned my lesson a couple years ago and stopped going to this one in favor of the other location on Hudson, because literally every time I come in here something gets messed up. Once they gave me the wrong change, once I got someone else’s receipt & I needed to expense it, several times orders have been incorrect…(To be fair, I’m not a coffee drinker myself so I usually come in to make coffee runs for meetings in my office, or for the occasional tea or hot chocolate for myself. I’m not a daily customer by any means.) This morning I came in at 8:00 and stopped in to give notice that I wanted to pick up 2 boxes of Joe at 8:30. It says on their website to give advance notice for boxes, and the phone is rarely answered — i’ve tried that before — so I stopped in this since it’s on my walk from the subway. I came back at 8:37 according to my phone, waited in line to pay, and didn’t finally get my 2nd box until 8:55 because they couldn’t find the extra boxes in the storage room downstairs. Everyone was friendly & apologetic so I hesitate to criticize them personally, but come on… this is meant to be a company that prides itself on its«well-oiled machine» efficiency. Yet every time I go to this location, something goes wrong. My advice, try a different Starbucks if you really crave their coffee FYI: there’s also no public restroom and very little space to sit down, not that this really bothers me since I’m going back to work, but just a heads-up.

No restroom for customers. Absolutely ridiculous. If you serve food and drinks, you should have a bathroom. Period.

I downloaded the Unilocal app just to write a review about this Starbucks. Been coming for 7 months since I moved here and keep giving the rude girl at the register a pass but today was the last straw and I will never step foot in this place. I love the mobile ordering. The whole point is to walk in and pick up ur coffee already prepped, and walk out. I ordered a brewed coffee with 2 raw sugars and extra cream. I walk in, pick it up and as I walk out take a sip of a black coffee. No sugar no cream, BLACK. I go back in and tell the very nice girl that she made a mistake and she said she knew, but they were out of raw sugar. I said what about the cream? She said she didn’t put the cream bc they were out of sugar. ??? Really??? I asked her to add the cream. Here she comes now, flying over like a bat, the tough girl with the street attitude that rolls her eyes at customers and no manager is there to put her in her place. She keeps telling the NICE girl that there are sugar packets on the bar. Twice, loud enough to let me know she’s had it with me, a paying customer, but never looking directly at my face. Bad attitude. So I loudly told her, there’s no sugar there. What’s the point of mobile ordering? What if I got all the way to work with a coffee I couldn’t drink? As an owner of a food establishment, I would NEVER put food or drink down in front of a customer that was NOT what they ordered and NOT explain WHY… That’s why this tough street attitude girl will serve coffee the rest of her life. She has no people skills and if you are reading this review and frequent this location you all know exactly which girl I’m talking about! PS another pass I gave this place but no more, one of the baristas in there picks up two coffee cups at a time to make the coffees by putting her fingers in the cups at the same time to pick them up. Disgusting.

I would never really rate a Starbucks as you usually know what you can expect depending on where it’s located and how busy it is, but seeing as this one has a pretty low rating, I thought I should review my experience. There are a lot of things I should like about it. They have a pretty open space. There are a lot of people working behind the counters in the morning. It’s conveniently placed right by the Spring Street stop. They have those wireless charging docks for my Galaxy that are pretty cool. But I never stop by. Reason being, there is a Starbucks and a number of other coffee places by my office and this location is right by the train stop, so it naturally picks up a lot of people walking to hudson square. Here’s the thing. This place could really work. If there were better organization, a little more space for seating, and consistency in service and quality of drinks, it could really work. Regardless, I wanted to share the really great experience the other day when I stopped in. It was the morning rush per usual and there is no organization of lines. They’re not putting names on the cups(I now understand that even a misspelled/mispronounced name is better than none) and people are grabbing coffees out of order. Like I’ve been waiting in the line for coffee and a guy who barely just left the register line grabs a latte that is obviously not his. Anyways I’ve been waiting, a grande soy latte gets called and a woman grabs it before me. Fine, but I’ve been waiting. I ask one of the associates(her nametag said Flo?) if there is another one coming and there isn’t…that woman stole my coffee… So Flo goes ahead and makes sure to expedite my coffee and writes my name on the cup, so there’s no misunderstanding that it is my coffee. That made my morning.

Customer service sucks. Even as a customer you aren’t allowed to use the restroom. When asking the code for the bathroom door, we were ignored until finally about the 4th or 5th time of asking what the code was a lady finally told us it’s for employees only.

Sadly this Starbucks is the most convenient for my daily commute. Service is poor, inconsistent, grossly incompetent, takes way too long, and amazingly seems to have gotten worse in the past few months. This place is falling apart at the seams. Don’t go if you don’t have to.

OKAY. I have literally never written a mean review of ANYTHINGEVERANYWHERE, but this place is so terrible that I have no choice. I work in the neighborhood, and I frequently visit this Starbucks to grab a coffee pre– and post-work. Starbucks needs to CLOSETHISLOCATIONDOWN. For starters, the employees, with a few exceptions, could not be less competent. In particular, the tall, dark-skinned African-American barista(I know his name but I’m scared to post it for fear of this review being deleted) has taken my order about 20 times over the past year. He has never once made eye contact with me, and seems to prioritize literally EVERYTHING over customer service. In general, he is usually talking with coworkers, fixing the pastry display, or meandering aimlessly behind the counter. On multiple occasions, I have stood there awaiting his attention with no one ahead of me in line for several minutes before being acknowledged. He «greets» customers by looking past them and muttering«What are you having?» instead of anything welcoming. He never offers a smile, a receipt, or anything helpful. He is the worst. Customer service at the register is not the only issue with this place. I have never spent less than 15 minutes in this location while awaiting a drink, and my orders are usually for a black coffee or an iced coffee with milk — nothing that should take more than one minute to make. The baristas, particularly the stockier white gentleman with the shaggy hair, have no sense of urgency or accuracy when constructing drinks. I have, on multiple occasions, had my(simple) order made completely wrong. But after having waited 10 minutes for a coffee, I simply didn’t have the desire to wait around any longer to have my drink remade. So there I am, left with a lukewarm chalice of sugary caffeine, not made to my specifications or personal desires. To you, this may be coffee. But for me, it is an elixir that allows me to power through a day of dealing with the most terrible people one can imagine. A pleasant experience at a café can turn my day from drab to fab in an instant. This has never happened at this Starbucks. Here I sit, sinking further and further into a black pit of coffee-less despair. All joking aside, this Starbucks has GOT to get it together. It is a blight on an otherwise blemish-free neighborhood. Management needs to get ONTHIS, PRONTO. It is the worst. Ever.

Fast forward two years after my 1st review and sadly this Starbucks has become a nightmare. A few of the staff behind the counter are friendly and welcoming, but most always seem annoyed when I order. I’ve been ordering the same things EVERY morning for almost a decade from Starbucks(Iced Venti Americano w/Classic, extra ice, light room) and at this location it’s a crap-shoot on whether it’s made correctly or not. When I have a few extra minutes before I’ll ask them if they can re-make it, but most days I just have to deal with it and go to work. I’ve been a loyal Starbucks for a very long time and this location has really made me want to start going elsewhere. Today my drink was made incorrectly 4TIMES!!! The 1st time they put Caramel Syrup, instead of Classic. I would have just left and dealt with it(as I normally do), but I really couldn’t stand that flavor. I inform the barista that my drink is wrong. After 3 – 4 minutes I’m handed another drink. I taste it and this time it does have the right syrup, but it’s an Iced Coffee, not an Americano… I return that one. 3rd time I’m handed another cup that looks strangely«light» in color. I taste and realize they didn’t the 4 shots of expresso that an Americano comes with. 4th time I’m handed another cup, no extra ice, no room. At this point I’m now 20 minutes late for work(spent 28 minutes here!!). I just give up and leave. I really try not to be a «high maintenance» customer and completely understand that in the mornings this place is SLAMMED, but the combination of horrible customer service, inconsistencies of the drinks, and my experience this morning has really put me over the edge. Starbucks management really needs to look into this location. ITREALLYNEEDSHELP!!!

This Starbucks has minimal seating and what? No public restroom. What the heck is a coffee shop doing without a restroom? There is one in the back that the barista won’t give out the access code to. That is just whack and I still paid too much for a drink…

I don’t typically go to starbucks anymore now that I’m in the real world and pay for everything, but this starbucks is ridiculously fast. I like the staff, and even on busy mornings when the line wraps around the small store, you are in and out in 10 minutes, it’s impressive!

I need 50cc’s of coffee stat. Ain’t nobody got time for your pitty paty games so early in the morning. I ordered a salted caramel mocha which is my favorite hot drink and I wanted a pastry but wasn’t sure so the girl walking around taking orders told me to let her know. She was busy so I told the cashier. Told him what I already ordered and he heard absolutely nothing I said. There was no music and no loud talking. I reiterated and asked for a blueberry muffin. The barista was working on my order and I change my mind about the whip and asked for it. She just looked at me. The caramel and salt tastes better when it is eased into the drink atop the whip cream since it just melts into the mocha without it. She did put the whip cream on but I felt dumb. She didn’t even acknowledge my existence. Believe it or not I’m still waiting for a muffin. I had to walk up to inquire about it just to get the muffin. Talking about Ali on the paper. That’s not my name. I felt like I was in the Seinfeld Chinese restaurant episode. Anyway in and out in a little over 10 minutes. I’ve been in longer lines at the Bucks that took way less time. Also they ain’t slick. The size of that blueberry muffin decreased by half. I used to work there. It was a healthy size back in 06. Wonder when that happened…

I know, I know you say all Starbucks are the same… but I disagree. This place is fantastic! Here is where I consumed the most delicious Starbucks cookie I’ve ever eaten. It was so ooey and gooey I just couldn’t get over it! The staff are amazing, so great, helpful and kind, I really felt like they went above and beyond to make my day great. The only weird thing is that the bathroom was hidden behind boxes, oh well.

Came in for a couple of Latte’s on our visit to Manhattan. We were staying on Canal so the walk was nice in the morning. The staff was ridiculously HORRID and disinterested. Everything was matter of fact and they could care less if you returned. This location needs to get their act together. They forgot orders and took way too long. The chemistry between the workers who should be working as a team was non-existent.
