This Starbucks has horrible customer service. I ordered a cake Pop and had to wait 20 minutes and then received a horrible attitude when I didn’t grab it from her after the first time she said my name. Then, my friend ordered a vanilla latte and asked the barista to remake the drink and they just added vanilla pumps. Needless to say, the drink was not good and they wouldn’t remake it. We left very disappointed.

Get in. Get out. Get on with it. As my office locations have moved throughout Manhattan, i’ve had the pleasure of frequenting a variety of Starbucks locations, playing the perpetual 8:49am «how long will the line be today?» game. Yes — coffee, breakfast, pastries… all the normal stuff that exists at just about every Starbucks exists at this one too. The true differentiator for my morning coffee is… how long is this going to take? Answer? Not long at all! With at least 4 registers open at a time and 5+ people in charge of drinks, iced coffee, hot coffee, even a grande 5 shot nonfat latte(when i’m using my free one) take no time at all. The whole upper level is essentially the closest thing you’ll find to a drive-thru Starbucks. ALL orders(except hot coffee, poured on the spot as always) are printed out and stuck to cups, so the chances of getting your drink right(we’ll worry about getting your name right another time) go up exponentially. There are 3 linked milk/cream stations so there is rarely a wait, and 95% of the seating is downstairs so there is plenty of room for 20+ people to exist at the same time waiting for their drink. This is the most efficient Starbucks i’ve ever been to. My order has always been right and i’ve never spent more than a minute or two between the time I ordered and the time I walked out the door. For maximum efficiency on your way to work… this is the only choice. (If you happen to walk down 34th like I do)

AFTER I ordered and paid, they told me there would be a 20 minute wait to get my drink due to the holiday rush. That SUCKS! Tell me before I pay!!! I wanted a fast drink BEFORE my bus came.

Service is fine. But it was one of the worst lattes I’ve ever had. I get that it’s busy, but since these aren’t *actual* baristas, it shows. And I already have low expectations when I enter a SBX. Anyway, there’s additional seating downstairs and the wifi is stronger. Unfortunately, I was never able to connect. Damn you, Dell!

Horrible service. Many employees but none seem to want to help customers. They are more interested in restocking shelves.

I wish I could give negative stars. Rarely do I ever comment on anything, but this is a store that deserves a review. This was the worst Starbucks experience of my life. I am from the Pacific Northwest and it is fair to say that I know a good coffee shop. I am in a Starbucks at least 4 days a week. Considering that it was a busy, New York City, Sunday morning at 11 a.m., at the Empire State Building — there were only 2 employees working behind the registers and 2 baristas. The customer line went out the door. The employees were rude, unfriendly and lazy. Unbearably slow. Even when we were 2nd in line, we considered leaving for another Starbucks location. The restrooms were filthy dirty, with no toilet paper. Very uncharacteristic of Starbucks. Several hours later we came back to use the restroom again because it was the closest location to where we were,(and we had spent $ 27 dollars there earlier). They still did have toilet paper, the soap dispenser was now empty and the bathroom was even filthier than before. To top it off, they employees placed th second(men’s bathroom] out of order and there was a line of 10 people waiting for the one bathroom. We notified them that the restroom was out of toilet paper and the employee told us to «use their napkins». Such a disappointment for a Starbucks experience. I suppose it’s good that there is one on every corner, but this one should be put out of its misery.

There are several Starbucks throughout the city that I could go to, however the customer service here is like no other Starbucks I go to. The baristas are friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. I’m naturally a big Starbucks fan but the service just puts it over the top!

I have my breakfast to go every morning here and there just too many times they gave me the wrong food. I understand it’s busy here but they really should pay more attention to it. in NY we take our morning coffee and breakfast very seriously since there’s always a long hard day ahead. plz be aware.

One of my favorite Starbucks… I come here often because work is right around the corner in Herald Square. Lots of tourists, always lots of people inside. However the baristas who work here are always so nice and smiling when I’m there, whether it’s early in the morning or late at night. Even though there seems to be a billion people inside at all times, the lines are super fast and everything is really efficient and easy. Being a former barista, I understand how frustrating working behind the bar is, and everyone seems to be happy working there. I know that sometimes isn’t the case, but they sure as hell smile like there’s no place they’d rather be(:

This location is a typical Starbucks. It is located near Macy’s and the Empire State Building. The store was good size but had limited seating. I’d return to this location if I was nearby and in need of a coffee.

This is my go-to Starbucks! The baristas are super friendly and make my drinks perfect. It can get a bit crowded but given the tourist area it’s in you have to understand. My drinks are always made within 5 — 10 minutes depending on the crowd. The area upstairs is a decent size so you never feel slammed against other people. The downstairs area is definitely what makes this location my favorite. There’s a very large seating area with numerous tables and plenty of outlets to charge my phone/laptop. The lighting is dimmed a bit so it’s calming and relaxing down there. I love this location and even though there’s a Starbucks right around the corner from my office I will always walk the extra few blocks to come here!

«THELESSCUSTOMERSTHEBETTER!» Is what the man behind the counter said to a line of waiting customers who were disappointed with the fact that they were being told very rudely that Starbucks would be closing in 5 minutes! Some customers were in line for over 20 minutes and they were now being told they wouldn’t be served if the time ran out. So they obviously were frustrated and walked out complaining which is when one employee(Middle Eastern man?) began talking back to the customers including«THELESSCUSTOMERSTHEBETTER!» and my personal favorite«GOODBYEBITCH» when I told him I would be Unilocaling him. It’s amazing to me that an establishment can stay in business with such horrible customer service. Having a bad busy day is completely understandable but if you don’t like your job or you can’t handle upset customers then quit your job and do something you enjoy! The manager of this establishment really needs to read all of the low reviews and re-evaluate who is working here cause you have a serious issue with one particular confrontational employee. If you would like a picture or more information about this employee just respond to this posting and ‘ll gladly send it to you. This Starbucks will always be busy and will survive even with terrible Unilocal reviews but guaranteed more bad reviews are to come if they don’t do something about their current staff. It was the worst service I’ve had at any Starbucks and I consider myself a Starbucks fan. Certainly not a fan of this Starbucks and I feel sorry for all future patrons. If I could give negative star rating I would!

Talk to Victor if you have any problems. All I get is an iced coffee with cream. Go here pretty regularly and they almost always get it right. Ive had an exception where it tasted like the cream went bad. Victor took care of it. Despite the expiration 2 weeks away, he tossed the carton and opened a new one. He got né a new coffee which was back to usual. And overall the entire staff is consistently friendly and the place is clean. Can’t say that about all Starbucks.

As of lately I’ve begun to consider myself a Starbucks aficionado. Not because I am obsessed or love coffee, which I actually don’t, but because I can always get my tea(hot or iced) fix from this establishment. I tend to go to this specific Starbucks in the morning on my way to work. It’s located between 6th and 5th avenue so there’s public transportation(bus & trains) nearby. Do note that it is right around the corner from the Empire State Building entrance so you do get your fair share of tourists coming in and out of the place. WARNING: If you happen to go to this location in the AM be ready to stand on a long line. The line usually wraps around the front, but goes by fairly quickly. I actually went in last week and there was an employee taking everyone’s orders while they were still on line, which made the whole process so much quicker and less painful. There are actually two floors so you can choose to sit upstairs or downstairs. I don’t see a reason why I wouldn’t come back here.

I came to this location today and ordered 3 different beverages. I waited for 10 minutes, then asked for my order and they hadn’t done it, then I waited for 5 more minutes and got one drink completely different from why I initially requested. So the lady was like«I’m going to make your drink»… She didn’t say when, and I wasn’t going to wait for another 5 mins to make them 20 mins for 3 drinks. I went to the cashier and claimed my money back. They need to learn about customer service or perhaps use numbers to determinate who’s first, second… In line. Tip: go there if you have nothing do but wait half an hour for your order.

I visited from Philly so this is my only visit to this store. I ordered a soy caramel macchiato as my free birthday drink. I watched the barista come from the back and start cleaning walls and shelves. I heard no soy milk being steamed. As a daily Starbucks customer, I know soy milk is never ready. It always has to be steamed because not many people order it. The barista handed me my drink about 2 minutes later.(After doing heavy cleaning & not washing his hands). Long story short, it was luke warm & I realized after drinking some when I left, it was made of whole milk. I’m LACTOSEINTOLERANT, hence the soy milk request. The cup wasn’t marked for soy. Luckily I realized it before I even drank ¼ of it. Wasted my free birthday drink. Thanks for the horrible stomach cramps on my birthday, Idiots.

Whoever is the manager for this morning’s shift they need to get demoted. I got to this Starbucks at 715am, and the opening time showed 7am. I saw 2 workers in the space, so I knocked on the window to get their attention. After knocking for about a minute, one of the workers turned around with an annoyed expression and signaled that I needed to wait 5 minutes. It almost seemed like I was interrupting her work, as if customer service wasn’t a part of her job description. It’s the winter. They were already 15 minutes late opening this Starbucks. 5 more minutes? Seriously?! Anyone with any kind of customer service mentality would have at least opened up the door to let me in to wait as they finished setting up. Perhaps Starbucks should reconsider retraining this location.
