Strachman Custom Blinds, Glass, Mirror & Shower

This was a great experience from start to finish. Strachman was wonderful! They have been on the Upper Westside forever, which gave me confidence that they would be around if I needed follow-​up. I now live in Riverdale and they were totally happy to come up to my apartment to help me with my window treatment needs. Their prices were in-​line or better than everyone else’s. They were easy to work with and supportive and helpful and I highly recommend using this professional and reliable company!

I went to Strachman to get blinds for my apartment and I was very pleased. The two men who came to measure my windows were on time, courteous, and helpful. The blinds were installed a couple of weeks later and they look great. I highly recommend this local business!

I love this place! Lou, Sonia and Lenny are glass and shade experts and provide amazing customer service. They made my custom-​made glass shower stall (and were smarter than my architect about the design), provided beautiful glass for French doors, made custom shades and a custom glass table for me. I compared their prices to many other places and they are by far the least expensive I found in NYC, and also offer the most knowledgable and friendly service. If you need glass, shades or anything of that nature, this is the place to go!

These guys made it so easy to get a piece of customized plexiglass cut. Contacted them one day, got the glass the next. AWESOME, FAST, AND CHEAP! The glass fits perfect, thanks again Lou!

Over the last few years we’ve purchased all of our blinds from Strachman. Lou, the owner, and his team have provided excellent service, and have been flexible in accomodating our hours. We just bought new venetian blinds for our living room and bedroom and are delighted.

We have been using Strachman Blinds for 25 years for our different homes in NYC. We recently had custom sheer weave solar shades measured and installed for our home, guest house and home theater for our current home outside of the city. Lou the owner came out with samples, measured and ordered the various shades and his team installed the entire job 2 weeks later. These shades are one of the best investments we have ever made. I think they will save us so much on our electric air conditioning bills that they will pay for themselves within just a few years. These people are the true experts! I am now trying to convince Lou to do the shades and shower enclosures in our just recently purchased home in Florida as well. They are the only company we want to deal with! Instead of Strachman we tried a national big box store once for a small simple bathroom blind and it was a disaster! Penny wise, dollar foolish as the saying goes.

Awful and Painful service!!!
We send them our brown blinds to fix and got purple cords with the blinds back. Clearly, they don’t care. When we asked them, they even lied that our cords were purple. After the second time pick up, they disappeared for a week till we emailed them. Their answer was they need to send cords to get our approve. Question is why don’t they sent earlier? Then, they ask us go to their store to see the cords after disappearing two weeks. Clearly, they didn’t do our work and try to get more time. Don’t go there. It’s painful to work with them!!! Go somewhere else if you have other better choice!

Great neighborhood store for blinds, shades, etc. Small, friendly and stuck right between Broadway and Amsterdam. Who knew they were there? They sent out my shades to be fixed, charged me a reasonable price and I felt great helping a small neighborhood business. I highly recommend them. Lou was the friendliest owner I’ve met in a long time. Great service!!!
