Stroma Physical Therapy

I would highly recommend Stroma to anyone after my own experience getting treated by Vinita and her staff. I found them incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, caring and patient. I received a thorough assessment after an old gym injury flared up again, and Vinita pinpointed exactly what the issue stemmed from. She treated the injury using her own unique method, had the exercise physiologist on her staff show me specific exercises that I could do on my own at home to help strengthen the muscles affected, and after a few sessions, I stopped having any pains at all. None at all! Which is amazing because I’d had these pains come and go for years! I am so happy I was lucky enough to find this place. I hope they are around a long time, because this is where I’m going next time I need any kind of physical therapy, and I’d send my friends and family here in a heartbeat.

I went in to Stroma 10 days before surgery for a massively ruptured disc. My goal was to get more comfortable for surgery and to be better prepared for PT post surgery.
Well, Vinita and the team exceeded this expectation. WAY exceeded it. In fact, i made so much progress over the next 10 days that I was able to postpone the surgery. They stayed late and came early to work with me as much as possible before my scheduled operation.
Unlike other physical therapy places I have been to, Stroma takes a team approach. There have been times when i work with four different therapists, each with a unique skillset, in one visit (stretching, exercise, body work and Vinita’s unique style of therapy where she manipulates muscles, organs and joints holistically. They also made me aware of problems with my gait, posture and musculature that were slowing down my healing. With this knowledge i was able to make tremendous progress and withdraw for massive amounts of painkillers.
I now know where to go when my body starts acting up on me. First stop — Stroma — to see if i can prevent injuries from getting worse in the future.

I have gone to so many physical therapists over the years. After an injury in 2002 its been an on and off battle to manage pain and keep a healthy body. Vinita is THE FIRST PT who I felt actually understood what I was saying– she listened and was meticulous about getting to the root of what was going on. Since my first appointment I have steadily improved. I have NEVER had that before. She is extremely hands on– following up by phone and email after our initial visits and she has made sure to stay in touch with my Spinal Surgeon to keep lines of communication open about my treatment. I have a crazy schedule and she and the staff have bent over backwards to accommodate me. I always feel better when I leave– that has never been the case before. I always felt kind of the same when I saw other PTs in the past– but for the first time I absolutely KNOW I am improving. She is funny and kind and has an insane memory. She knows everything about my medical history by heart. I am so so grateful to have found Stroma. Vinita and her staff have really helped me on my path to a stronger, healthier back. The environment in the studio is friendly and relaxed, you really feel like you are surrounded by people who know you and care about your recovery. I have recommended Stroma to friends and will continue to do so.

After years of working with different chiropractors and a rehab doctor, Vinita and her staff were the first and only ones who were able to relieve my back pain so that I don’t wake up when I turn over in bed or am even aware of my back when I sit at the computer. One of the best things about her approach is that she treated my whole body, not just the specific lower back pain so that issues I felt contributed to the back problem were actually eradicated. Another feature of Stroma that I love is that after receiving an exercise routine, a follow-​up e-​mail with videos is sent – which is a good thing since it helps me remember how to do the exercises correctly. Finally, Vinita works with each patient to ensure they are not dependent on seeing her but have a routine to maintain their good body health.

I’ve been coming to Stroma for years now, and I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed the experience. Vinita is so detailed in her approach and spends time with each of her patients. She is a wonderful therapist and her knowledge of her craft is quite honestly remarkable. Every time I leave I feel so rejuvenated and refreshed.

In my life I’ve worked with a number of physical therapists and Vinita and the Team at Stroma stand miles above everyone else. The first time I met Vinita I had woken up with a frozen lower back and hobbled into Stroma using a cane. Vinita methodically evaluated not only my lower back but my movement patterns. Her commanding expertise and years of experience as a physical therapist were immediately apparent. Vinita’s hands on work on my lower back and legs gave me immediate relief. The therapy dramatically reduced the inflamed area. I was amazed to walk out of Stroma totally normal. It was nothing short of a miracle. The session was followed up with additional sessions with Vinita to make sure the lower back was fine. In addition she created an exercise program for me to strengthen my back to prevent future problems. The PT aid assigned to work with me was exceptionally precise in monitoring how I was doing the exercises and in explaining the importance and benefits of correct form.
Since then I’ve had other injuries and I’m always confident when I go to see Vinita that she will put me on the path to recovery. It’s also great that the staff is friendly and efficient and Vinita is punctual. On the rare occasions she’s running late it’s because she spends quality time with each of her patients until an issue is resolved. When she’s fully booked and I’ve had to wait to see Vinita it’s totally worth it because a session with her makes such an enormous difference. Most physical therapy offices are cold and clinical but here the space is beautiful, there’s state of the art exercise equipment, and soothing music that provides a warm environment. The practice feels like a sanctuary for healing. I feel lucky to be able to work with Vinita and the Team at Stroma. There are many loyal patients like myself that appreciate the thoughtful care we receive from this impressive practice.
