Subway

I’ve been going to this Subway for over two years now, 2 – 4 times a month. I used to work at 10^th and now I work closer to 8^th but still make the trek. I always get the «simple $ 6» meal — it’s the perfect amount of food for me and I’m going to pretend the soda and chips are not bad for me. They have Cherry Coke and a good assortment of chips (Spicy Thai Doritos anyone?) and they are pretty efficient and accurate. Considering how many times I come here, I’ve only had a handful of issues (like overcharging me for the meal when they first introduced this promo since I didn’t say «Simple Six») but usually I’m in and out with everything I wanted. Since it’s near all of the construction, they sometimes get a barrage of construction workers, but that is rare. When I’m in a rush, I’ve tried the Subway on 34^th near 9^th or the one in Penn Station but neither have Cherry Coke and the one near 9^th has poor service and not the best assortment of chips either. So I’ll keep going to my «regular» Subway when I can!

I was here Thursday to grab a late lunch. I wasn’t sure which was the $ 3 Select for the month but apparently I guessed wrong because I got the 6″ chicken breast for $ 4.75 plus tax. I had my selection of veggies. The sandwich maker was courteous and professional and when the sandwich was done asked it that was all I wanted.

My experiences here have been good. Typical Subway franchise. However, upon becoming a regular morning customer (getting a sandwich to take to work for lunch), I occasionally got offered a free cookie with my order. Yay!

WORST SUBWAY EVER. I’m convinced that the workers here actually make a conscious and deliberate effort to ruin the business. If you order the same sandwich on any given night five times a week, you will get five different prices each night. Sucks because I live next door but never going back.

Never have anything you want, don’t greet customers, talk about you in another language, make you wait forever, do everything with extreme attitude, mess up every order, don’t understand a word you’re saying.

It’s a Subway. It’s fine. The reason I mention it is that it is nicer-​enough than the Subway a block east (on 34^th between 8^th & 9^th) that it’s worth walking to this one instead. It’s always less crowded & the seating is better laid out.
Other than that, well, I’m glad they brought back their chicken salad sandwich for spring. Tasty!
