My girls ask for Subways after school on ocassion, today was one of those days. They are very friendly and always treat the girls well. The portions are a bit on the skimpy side but this is the case with every NYC Subways I have purchased from, the meats are pre measured in small paper containers. Apparently it is different elsewhere, I remember when you were able to actually buy a sandwich from Subways that looked like the sandwiches in the photographs hanging all over the walls and menus, this has not been the case for many years and it has cost them a considerable amount of my business.

THISLOCATIONDOESNOTHONORCURRENTPROMOTIONS!!! After seeing the Subway Customer Appreciation special advertised on TV, I came here only to be told in half English, half unknown language that they don’t honor those deals. The employee was rude and the place was a mess. I went down the block and got the deal I came for from another Subway. I will NEVER return here.

Awful employees. They told me to hurry up even though there was only one other customer behind me for the vegetables, but there were two workers so one could’ve easily put the vegetables in the other customers sandwich without telling me to hurry up. There wouldn’t have been a reason to rush me if he understood that I wanted more vegetables on my veggie sandwich, where he LITERALLY put 4 pieces of olives, a little bit of lettuce, and a miserable a amount of onions(I didn’t get tomatoes because they looked gross) Even after I asked him for more he tried to rush me off and only added 2 more olives. When it was time to eat I open my sandwich to find a disheveled, pretty empty sandwich. Ridiculous staff they don’t care about the customers.

Employees don’t clean tables between guests. When I asked them to clean the tables, they wiped down the tables partially with a dirty rag. Not recommended. Would rather go to Whole Foods or broadway.

If you thought also what restaurants are interchangeable, try this one. I waited at the counter for five minutes before anyone bothered to walk out. The floor was covered in dead leaves. For some reason the employee decided to microwave the chicken and then toast just the bread and then add cheese. When I asked why he didn’t melt the cheese he simply grumbled in Bengali. Walk two blocks to broadway and save the hassle.

NOW they have a SIGN saying Service Dogs welcome! My complaints to the regional office apparently really worked! I congratulate them on posting this sign. That is really trying to rectify a problem and it also sets an example. Kudos to this Subway for that! I wish they were a bit more generous with their portions, somewhat skimpy with the toppings. They are polite and helpful. But considering toppings like lettuce, onions etc are inexpensive they could be more generous. Also a strip of mustard is not putting mustard on a sub. Maybe I’m spoiled by frequenting a Subway in Scottsdale AZ which piled everything on to overflowing. I have not sampled other Subways in NYC, so I honestly can’t say if this is an anomaly or all NYC Subways are skimpy. I always add condiments and toppings at home If I have them on hand. I do buy Subs here despite the portion skimpiness. I wish they could improve in that area.

Ok — so I’ve eaten at this Subway location a couple of times and the service ranged from«so so» to «disgusting.» The last few experiences has completely shifted my views of this location. The restaurant appears clean, has plenty of seats, and offers a good value. However, the employees generally don’t appear trained on safe handling of food! On one trip, the employee making my sandwich moved a trash can with his hands and went right back to making my sandwich! He wore gloves but didn’t change them after moving the trash can. Talk about unsanitary! On another occasion, the employee who made my sandwich took payment in cash without changing his gloves. The worst part — the employee went right back to making a new sandwich without changing gloves. The employee that touches a trash can and food without changing gloves(or washing his hands as I’ve seen at other Subway locations) leads me to believe that perhaps the employees might not understand the concept of food safety. Regardless of whether this is a training issue, I’ll definitely avoid this location from now on! I haven’t gotten sick, but it’s not worth the risk for a $ 5 sandwich.

Not a bad place for the city. Gets busy at lunch as expected but the crew(while not always the friendliest) moves the line along quickly. Restaurant fairly clean and good amount of seating available. Would recommend overall.

While in the Upper West Side, I had an emergency date with the Porcelain King which thankfully Subway Sandwich has a customer facility. Of course, I purchased a bottle of strawberry flavored milk at $ 1.49 to qualify as a patronage in order to utilize the facility. The facility is surprisingly in fair clean condition with ample supply of toilet paper. Staff produces slow service during peak lunch hour for long queues, which is aggravatingly annoying.

I like this Subway b/c it’s clean, the workers are friendly, and the food is fresh. Now that I’m pregnant(with a bizarre craving for Subway’s Veggie Delight sandwich), I come here almost daily. The bread is always fresh and the salad ingredients — from the lettuce to the cucumbers — are also always crisp and tasty. Plus, they are generous in their portions. Who doesn’t like a fat Subway sandwich full of fresh veggies?
