Yay to popup stores! Target will be here until the 22^nd of this month FYI!
I had fun coming here-​you can park your stroller outside (optional) but they do give you a ticket for it! There’s also a nice baby changing station inside, with tons of wipes and diapers to use-​LOVED that the BEST!!! hahaha jk (kinda) :P
Anyways, you get to explore different stations, my fave ones including taking a pic with the huge etch-​a-​sketch (those were the days, I even had a tiny keychain of one way back when!), engraving your own lil’ ornament (too cute!) and posing with the huge light switch, haha. They also give out some chocolate rice krispies when you enter. Good times!

We visited Target Wonderland yesterday in Chelsea, NYC. It’s a pop up store at 15^th street and 10^th avenue, but it’s not like any store I’ve experienced. It’s more like Willy Wonka’s version of Target. It’s smartly designed, clean and impressive with lots of different stations for kids as well as adults to enjoy. And if you want to buy a couple toys, that’s available too.
When we walked in we were greeted by good looking elves, so NYC :). We were given badges on lanyards to wear around our necks as we went through the wonderland. You can scan these badges in order to buy items you see, but also to have photos emailed that the elf team takes while you’re playing. We were also welcomed with free treats, a choice of cookie or chocolate covered rice crispy treat.
Once we had our badges and treats we were escorted to the beginning of the wonderland which started at a giant light switch. We switch it on to reveal magical music and twinkling lights. Next we walked down a path with a really cool cause and effect ball course.
Our journey continued as elves walked us down a long red hall and opened the door revealing the wonderland, which was a large space (10,000 + square feet) for us to roam from interactive station to station as we pleased.
We arrived around 2:00 and it was shockingly empty. Our kids were immediately drawn to the Frozen castle where they picked out their complimentary desired glitter tattoos.
From there they ran to a ball pit made of a giant LEGO pirate ship and filled with thousands of white balls looking like snowballs. This was probably the highlight. The ball pit was staffed with playful elves to keep the kids safe. They also told us the balls were washed daily, which was nice to know.
While the kids romped around in the balls I wandered over to the complimentary ornament station and had an ornament laser engraved with the names of the kids and date of the adventure. You can write whatever you want on it. My boyfriend found his way to the drone station and flew around a mini millennium falcon drone in a netted area with hoops to fly through. The kids also played in with the virtual snowball game, raced remote control cars and became tsum tsums. If you happen to make a purchase your items drop down a chimney when you check out, it’s so adorable. It was such a cute afternoon and the kids showed their appreciation with lots of smiles and hugs.

It is the future of retail shopping, as we know it.
It’ll be a great photo opportunity for our social media fanatics, and a great experience for children and adults, since it is part toy store and part pop-​up exhibit.
