Taryn Brows

There is NO ONE, and I repeat, NO ONE who has ever done my eyebrows better then Taryn! Best eyebrow waxer/​shaper ever! Great customer service. Very personable. I recommend her to anyone looking for perfect brows. Worth every penny :-)

Taryn is probably the best eyebrow specialist in NYC. She takes time to determine what’s the best shape for your face. She’s very consistent which is an issue I had in the past with other eyebrow specialist. The only challenge is booking an appointment. I recommend booking a month in advance because her slots fill up super fast. Sometimes an opening pops up but it’s rare due to her popularity. I learned my lesson and keep a monthly appointment in the books. I also had the eyebrow tint done as well but for me it only lasted for three days at the most. It might have something to do with the type of skin products I use. Otherwise highly recommend coming here for eyebrow shaping. The price is worth it.

I was so excited to give this place a shot– I usually go to sephora on 5^th ave but it is just too far from my office to go during lunch. Taryn is lovely and very well versed in the eyebrow field — as she should be! I did both a tint and shape and the finished product was amazing. However, the tint only lasted about 5 days (was very careful about showering, washing face, removing makeup etc) and 2 of those days they were too dark (the lighten over time). Once the tint was gone, I wasnt as impressed with the shape. But overall a good experience, I would go back but I wish the tint was a henna instead (henna lasts longer) and is more natural.

Their work looks amazing from what I’ve seen on IG. I was super excited to get my brows shaped and tinted, however, never got the opportunity. Apparently the receptionist or whoever that was at the front desk was unable to differentiate between Mendoza and Mendez. My last name is MENDOZA and she contacted someone with my first name and the last name MENDEZ about the appointment. That person canceled their appointment and so the receptionist in turn cancelled the one for MENDOZA. — if you’re keeping count it’s been about 3 times that she had to look at the 2 sets of names. How can you not read the difference?!
Super annoyed. Did I get an apology? Nope!
What I got in turn was, «Has that ever happened to you before, Jessica?» No! Because my last name is Mendoza NOT Mendez.

After my original person that did my eyebrows moved out of state, and trying different places, I am happy to say that I have found my new place to shape my eyebrows. Taryn miraculously shaped my eyebrows to the point of normalcy. Which I thought was going to be impossible. The $ 50 was totally worth it. I will definitely go back!
cons: there’s a 1 – 2 month wait but totally worth it!

Love how Tayrn shapes my eyebrows. Very clean, fun environment. If you are looking for a full service eyebrow service I highly recommend her. Make sure you book in advance at least 3 weeks.

Taryn is absolutely amazing. I’ve been going to her consistently for months now. I’ve been so consistent that I’ve seen the evolution of price increases lol but that’s what happens when you’re good, increase in salary baby ! It is now $ 50 to leave with the perfect eyebrows and if you’re like me you’ll think «what in the world» but believe me, $ 50 is worth it and I would come to her any day before I go to a nail salon and risk the heartache and embarrassment of one eyebrow being shaped thinner than the other.
Her studio offers full brow service so there is tinting available as well.
She is also APPOINTMENT ONLY so be sure to book at least a month in advance. If you’re lucky keep checking daily for appointment cancellations to get in and DONT BE LATE

I first went to Taryn after I had gone to my local threading spot and the lady made one eyebrow extremely thin! and the other was not as thin but still wasn’t to my liking. I was a bit apprehensive at first about waxing since I’ve heard horror stories but let me tell you Taryn is a true professional. I have been to her place about 4 times now and every time is a better than the last.
The first time I went to her she greeted me by name and asked me why did I go to her. I told her what had happened with the threading and she asked how long I had been growing out my brows. It was about 2 months and she then asked how I like my brows and I told her that I liked thick brows. Since one of my brows was significantly thinner I was worried that she wouldn’t get it right. But once my eyebrows were done I was in shock they looked full and so well done at the same time.
I had to write a review for her because she truly deserves it. You can tell that she takes pride in what she does so I highly recommend her.

Before you think you have no business looking at her Unilocal page, just hear us out okay?
Taryn IS amazing.
Shes sweet, warm, smells nice and keeps a well kept shop.
BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, SHE CAN TAKE THE BUSHIEST, THINEST, CROOKEDEST, TO’UP BROWS AND MAKE IT LOOK LIKE …(there isn’t even a word so ill say-​) FLEEKNESS!
You may not want to spend $ 40 every time but at least once come to taryn and get an ego boost. You deserve it because you’re amazing and long over due for a little splurge. :)

I’m another longtime Taryn client who followed her from Sephora to her new studio. I’ve had horrific brow-​shaping experiences (like that one time I ended up with two thin squiggly lines on my face even though I’d asked for just a little tweezing –_​-​) so I don’t let just anyone touch these brows! Thankfully, Taryn isn’t «just anyone» — she’s a SUPERSTAR. Quick, efficient, friendly — and with that magic touch that can’t really be taught. After every appointment, I feel like I’ve had an instant makeover.
Oh and her online booking system is super convenient and easy to use and she gets you in and out, which is especially helpful when you have limited «lunch breaks.» I highly recommend her!

I was extremely hesitant to spend $ 35 to get my eyebrows done. As a female who hasn’t gotten hers done in about six years it was clearly never that important to me. However, that’s why I really needed Taryn.
Unlike any other place Taryn does your eyebrows the way they should be done. She shapes them from start to finish. Not just a simple wax, or threading. Don’t we all want that?
She did a fabulous job and she is incredibly sweet! I am definitely going back!

This was my first time going to Taryn and all I can say is that all these reviews are correct… she is AMAZING!!! I was referred to her by a friend and I can’t be more thankful for that referral. I’ve had horrific experiences with numerous brow «technicians» who never seemed to get my brows correct. I went to Taryn hoping for the best and that’s exactly what I got! From my initial consultation, I immediately felt that she was different than the others. She carefully assessed my eyebrows and told me where to let them grow out. When she finished, I was truly amazed. My brows looked perfect!!! I am hooked!!! I will NEVER go to anyone else!
