Seconding Tina C., they’re closed. Nobody’s bought the storefront yet, but it doesn’t look like they’re coming back to it.

Ho hum atmosphere, décor & bev n snack selection. But! friendly staff, & plenty of heat on, on a chilly day while enjoying a sit by the big windows, overlooking the cross town bus stop with a good book! PS I wrote that after being served by a lovely fellow and finding a nice seat. Unfortunately said lovely fellow then went on to indulge windbag after windbag in loud-ass conversation which was distracting, disturbing and damn near deafening. I finally had had it after about an hour of this nonsense and made my exit, determined to demote my star rating by a couple. Have a nice day.

Taza de Café offers neighborhood events(see their web site), free Wi-Fi, and the expected assortment of strong coffee, and baked and prepared foods, including sandwiches, salads, and pasta. On my last visit, I scarfed down linguini and chicken(credit cards accepted), while listening to a poetry reading. Pleasant service and décor to match. Find this quaint indie café in Washington Heights, right off the C.
