I ordered a rug on December 17 but never got the confirmation, so I wrote to them again, asking for the confirmation. No reply. I tried calling their 800 number, it rings to some sort of solicitation, nothing to do with The Bathroom. I tried their 212 number and no one answered. Now it is December 31st, and repeat all of the above except I got«Tricia» on the 212 number. She yammered on and on about their supplier and how they aren’t actually sure they can get the rugs, and how she’d look into it and call me back, except I don’t want a call, never explained why she/they never bothered to reply to my email, or follow up on my order, she can’t find the order because she doesn’t have time to look at her email(since 2 weeks ago) and she has«people» in the shop who she has to attend to… Don’t buy anything from these irresponsible people.

Was strolling by this place and decided to look in. Opened door, walked in and was accosted by employee who said«I’m not open! I don’t know HOW you got in here.» I said«the door is open and we came in». He shooed us out exclaiming«the lights were out. .. f — Ing tourists» I am not making this up. It happened today 5⁄30 at 11:45. We are not tourists btw.

I am so in love with this store. The aroma of scents when inside the store invoke immediate relaxation. It is my go to place for gifts. Each product is hand picked by the owner who is extremely knowledgeable and very funny. My faves are Dr Hauschka face line, Kai Body glow and oil(am addicted) and the Seda France Japanese quince candle has the most unbelievable scent. Quality class and beauty what more could a girl ask for!

You know one of the reasons why I love the West Village, it’s because you come across little jewels like ‘The Bathroom’…If you’ve ever been to a ‘ye olde apothecary-type shoppe” in London, you’d find some fabulous, non-mass consumerist treasures, like you will invariably find at ‘The Bathroom’. Ex-pat Londoner, the devilishly handsome and Dudley-do-Right resembling proprietor, Colin Heywood, not one for mincing words with idiots, can be oh so charming, dependent on how much money you spend, or wryly acerbic, dependent on how beige you are. lol Although his wit and clever cockney sense of humor may be off-settling to some, most customers inevitably get drawn in by his clever repartee, quips, good looks, English charm and knowledge of his market. But just shopping around in his magical little cosmetic wonderland, you just might find that special gift, or an international brand that you might have found on vacation, or something that you didn’t even know you were looking for. With some exclusive, «not-at-Sephora nor Duane Reade» brands, like ‘Dr Jucre Human Stem Cell Skincare’, ‘By Terry Makeup’, and ‘Histoires de Parfums’, Mr. Heywood scouts the globe for rare beauty and boudoir products and brands which will either rejuvenate your person, or enhance your personal hygiene regimen… Even bath wear too… This is just the kind of beauty hub that discerning people in the know, editors and cosmetic junkies search and live for… ‘The Bathroom’ has that chic, boutique-esque Bergdorf Goodman aesthetic, only downtown and tucked away on a quaint little street called Charles, right in the heart of the charming West Village, with«West» & «village» being the definitive words… So, if you’re an out-of-towner or even a jaded New Yorker, who doesn’t shop at Ricky’s and you’re looking for a cool New York place to find those not so easy to find brands, which has a quintessentially English sensibility and products that you won’t find at your regional beauty supply place, or even at your local Neiman Marcus, then you owe yourself a trip to the West Village in Manhattan. Drop in a say«howdy mate» to Colin Heywood, but prepare to spend some time in pamper mode and spend some coins in overload. .Oh…and tell him… Montgomery sent you, but then he might just throw you out… JUSTKIDDING! Adorable little boutique off of Bleecker that has everything you’d need for your bathroom – from soaps and candles to shower curtains and mirrors. It’s clear the owners, a sweet British couple, have carefully made great selections.

Walked in to this store on the way home from work at a co-workers suggestion, and loved it! I’m in the beauty business and love everything that has to do with it. This store is great for those international, boutique brands that are so hard to find in the states. Just going in you will discover a new brand you have never heard of. They also have great staple lines too.

We just found this place a few months ago. Hard to imagine since we are in the W Village all the time. Soaps, Candles and as you would imagine get ready… BATHROOM accessories. You’ll find items from Italy, France, Japan, Old England(where the owner Colin is from and the States. The store is well laid out and has a country feel to it. We saw items and bought a few we had never seen anywhere in the city. The owner brings in top notch goods. Nothing is cheap here but if you go to the back room and take a look he does have a clearance/on sale section. Perfect place to find a nice gift.

When I have money, I will shop here. I promise. Super-classy stuff that I can’t justify buying as a broke-ass college student… but it gives me something to dream about at night on my extra-long twin-sized autoclaved-once-a-year dorm mattress. I chatted up the owner a bit last week… he is so funny. Although maybe it’s just the accent. But he seems charming. This was the conversation I overheard between him(his name is Colin) and an old lady in the store. Old lady: Excuse me, do you have anything mimosa-scented? Colin: I believe we have some soap. Idk why, I though it was hilarious. Probs because I was surrounded by soap at the moment, and I grew up watching Little Britain with my brother.

Great selection, so cute and clean and bright and pretty! Helpful staff — willing to show me different products and make recommendations. Just found it and wondered in while waiting for a dinner reservation — ended up buying Fekkai hair gloss, Seda France candles, and Olivina lavender hand crème. Very happy with all my purchases!

Thanks to the fine folks at Bathroom(Greenwhich Village), I now share the same Italian shaving cream as Marcello Mastroianni, and perhaps Don Corleone. Disappointed that they were out, they graciously sold me their(last in Manhattan) display tube of «Proraso: sapone da barba». I can now relax after a shower by shaving with the same scented cream as either of my heroes, whether dreaming of Anouk Aime or planning a hit on the Tattaglia’s.

This is a great place for high-end bath products. Perfect for Valentine’s Day, birthday, or Christmas presents. It’s a small shop, with attentive customer service, and racks and racks of bath salts, lotions, potions, and linens.
