My wife and I worked with Lisa in June of 2013, and she was amazing. Coming from MN, the NYC rental market is pretty daunting, coupled with the difficulties of a cross-​country move. Lisa was great right off the bat, giving us a call within the week to understand what our priorities were, and what we were looking for. She was also extremely helpful in guiding us to the right time to fly over and do walk-through’s. Lastly, the best thing she did was to help us understand the paperwork needed to rent in NYC. It’s requires a ridiculous amount of paperwork, and we were able to have everything with us with Lisa’s help.
When we got to NYC, we actually used two different brokers — We were told that we’d definitely find the right place if we did this. After comparing the two Lisa blows the competition out of the water. She was organized, and brought us to see 8 different apartments in about 4 hours. It was a whirlwind, but remarkably, all of them were within our guidelines. She was able to find apartments that showed us the range of what we could get. This might sound like exactly what a broker is supposed to do… but our other broker brought us to 4 apartments over the same amount of time… and only 2 were within our guidelines. There is clearly a difference in the amount of work Lisa puts into her clients compared to others.
When we finally settled on an apartment, Lisa was invaluable in securing it — I think she called the management about 5 times while we filled out the paperwork to make sure they knew we were interested. After all was said and done, Lisa still contacts us to make sure that everything is going well in our apartment — That’s true dedication to her clients.
To sum it all up… I HIGHLY recommend working with Lisa. She knows what she’s doing, and puts in the hard work to get you want you want.

I was honestly a little apprehensive about what the experience of using a broker would be when I moved to NYC.
