The Manhattan Wine Shop

They sent me the wrong wine. This was after they had sent the order to the wrong address. When I called to complain they assured me they would credit my account. When I called to place a new order, the manager refused to honor my credit claiming its my fault for accepting the incorrect order. I spoke to the clerk who said he would give the credit and the evil manager said the clerk is useless and he would fire him.
DO NOT PATRONIZE this store. The management is clearly evil and doesn’t care about his customers.
I even have a VM promising me credit! Don’t shop here. Take your business elsewhere.

It’s located in a convenient location indeed. If your really not looking to compare price tags then by all means stop by this place. If you are and are looking for a more welcoming experience then go to the many other stores nearby! This place doesn’t really stand out other than being literally a couple of blocks away from Bryant park on 6^th ave.

Brand new place, modern design, big inventory for its space. I was looking thru the spirits section and saw a large display of bourbons. Staff seemed nice enough. Plus they deliver.
I believe that this is their second location. I can’t go more than three stars because, I have not compared their prices. Plus I don’t know if they have a web site.

WORST WINE & LIQUOR SHOP!!!
Do not buy ANYTHING at this shop. I was out of town and wanted to get a nice bottle of scotch to celebrate with some buddies of mine. I been hearing that the current best scotch around was «The Yamazaki». I was talking to a few of the guys at the store and they mentioned how it was rare to find. They said I wouldn’t find this bottle anywhere I went. They told me the price which seemed a little higher than I originally thought. They seemed like they knew what they were talking about and decided to purchase it. I asked them what the return policy was and they mentioned that I could return it anytime within 7 days which also specified that on the receipt. On the way back to the hotel I came across another Liquor store which had multiple bottles of «The Yamazaki» bottle the same exact one for almost half the price! I looked on the internet when I realized I just been scammed! So the very next day before I left, I took the bottle back in for a return. The guy says I can not return the bottle even though it specifies that on the receipt! My gf and I kept insisting that it stated on the receipt i could return it within 7 days. The gentleman mentioned how it is NYC and how everything in the city is overcharged and how the rent is so expensive… Apparently he was stating how he has to scam to overcharge his customers almost 100% in order to get by which to me is absolutely absurd! My gf and I decided to take the loss and leave. I learned my lesson and will never ever shop there again and will never promote any of my NYC alcoholic buddies of mine to shop there! STAY AWAY!

The Quick: Walking distance from Bryant Park with a fairy large selection of inexpensive to higher quality wines and liquors. They also carry cute wine bags if you have to pick up a quick gift en route to your final destination.
The Damage: Overpriced wine, like most of Manhattan. Nothing outrageous.
