Think Coffee

I work in the building at 726 and one day I had difficulties staying awake so I took the elevator down to get a medium iced caramel latte. I’m a poor grad student so I am super stingy with my money. I was not expecting the drink to be five bucks and some change. The drink itself was delicious but not worth my five bucks. And they fill the drink to the brim but they don’t cover the drink, the lid is over by the milk and sugar stand. I had to quickly grab a straw and take a big sip so I could put a lid on my drink. Luckily I’m not so clumsy, but it just seems like they must get a lot of spillage from their customers.

Oh, don’t worry about me, Think baristas. I definitely don’t have a super-​short break in which I have to rush to grab my coffee or anything, proximity being the only reason I continue to go to this snail’s pace, apathetic establishment. No, please, take your sweet time, chat amongst yourselfs… you know what, just don’t acknowledge my presence at all. That’s cool. I’ll just stand here, whiling away the minutes of my short break, while I wait for you all to get your acts together and make my coffee. Great.
What I love most is that the baristas are so obviously aware of their slowness that they have an «honor» system carafe set up outside where you pour your own coffee and leave two bucks in the jar, if you can’t wait the seventeen years it takes them to prepare any sort of beverage.
I’d comment on the coffee itself, but I’m usually so frazzled and annoyed by the time I get it, I barely notice the taste.

Hmm. I don’t know if I like or hate this place yet. I wasn’t like «OH MY GOODNESS!» about it, but I didn’t feel any animosity towards the place either. I stopped by here after visiting the NYU bookstore and got an iced coffee. They have a seating area which is a nice place to read while drinking your coffee.
I’m not sure if this is going to be a place to replace starbucks yet. It’s cool how they use compostable material and their baked goods look pretty good, but they only have liquid sugar or honey to sweeten your coffee. I liked the flavor, but for me, the iced coffee seemed pretty watered down.
Service is a plus though. The girl at the register was super friendly and nice. Maybe second time around will be the perfect charm.

I interact with the staff everyday. They are great… and the service rocks. The coffee is mediocre.

Lovely service. Most customers are solo or with another person so it’s a great place for conversation or reading, but since it is located in the NYU bookstore, you may want to avoid if you’re not a fan of the NYU crowd.

Only had the baked goods a few times but the coffee has always been fresh and yummy! Its in the NYU bookstore but there is a good amount of seating and the noise level stays down. It’s a good place to enjoy a nice cup of coffee.
