I had an amazing experience at Three Kings! Richard Smith was great, making sure my tattoo turned out the way I expected to. I’m very happy with it and I’ll be back to get another done, for sure.

I stopped in here last week for a small piece as a walk in. Great clean location, knowledgeable and friendly staff. I highly recommend a visit here, and I plan on coming back for another piece from Dave Ball in the near future.

tattoos suck and feel terrible but if you’re going to go through with it this is a good place. I recently came here and was tattooed by Richard Smith. I had a great experience and would recommend this shop. Everyone is super chill and the environment is welcoming. Go see Richard– he’s a great artist, focused, efficient,(and good looking) you wont be disappointed, even if you need a shot of whiskey in the end.

My two best friends and I all got matching tattoos from Caz. He was very personable and made sure we felt comfortable throughout the entire process. Everything was cleaned and reset after each of us got our tattoo and he made sure we all saw that he was using a new needle for each of us. The best part is he did such an awesome job I don’t even need a touch up.

Had a great experience getting my very first tattoo at this shop! Although it took a few months to get an appointment with Sergio(understandably because he’s very good), it was well worth the wait. He was patient as we emailed back and forth regarding my design, which changed a few times in the process. Finally when I decided on a much smaller, simpler tattoo he was very accommodating and shortened the appointment as well as letting me know my $ 100 deposit would cover the tattoo cost. Overall a great experience and I’m super happy with the finished product. Would definitely go back to him again!

This past Monday I got my first tattoo(ever) there and I absolutely adore my new tattoo. Richard Smith is an amazing talented artist and I am so so glad I have found him. We met a week earlier. I brought some designs and we talked for almost an hour. Richard didn’t rush the consultation at all. He made me feel at ease and was asking the right questions. I came back a week later and Richard designed my piece exactly the way I wanted it. Being my first tattoo I was a little afraid of the pain but it turned out that I didn’t feel anything. Richard was very good in making sure I was as comfortable as possible. The shop is great and the whole staff was attentive. I cannot wait to come back to get more ink. If you have any design ideas talk to Richard and let him create. You won’t be disappointed. Trust me, TRUSTRICHARD. Looking forward to being at this shop again. I highly recommend it to anyone getting a tattoo. First timer or not.

Walked in and got my first tattoo here with two of my best friends. Super clean place, accommodating staff, and our artist, Nash, was a total pro. I was terrified, turned out to be a piece of cake. Best shop in NYC hands down. I’ll definitely be back.

I had a great experience at Three Kings East Village. I already had a few tattoos(though none done in NYC and none that required any great deal of skill). I just walked right in one day and Nash happened to be sitting up at the front of the shop. I didn’t have a very solid idea of what I wanted(well, I thought I did, turns out I didn’t) but I did know the style that I wanted(more towards the classic/traditional american tattoo) and that it was to be an homage to my wife. Nash was helpful in that first meeting in guiding me towards some sources to get some more focused ideas and helped me understand the big picture as far as what to expect in the style that I was interested in(level of detail possible, color vs black and grey shades and how that would affect detail, the classic flourishes associated with that style, etc.). I showed up at Three Kings a few days later with a better idea of what I was looking for, along with my computer with pics to flip through with Nash. I don’t remember how long I was there but we flipped through a ton of pics and settled on a number of them as being good source material while discussing more detail of the tattoo. I emphasized the important points for me on the piece(must haves) while making it clear that he was the artist and I wanted him to feel free to run with it within the parameters that we discussed. I set up an appointment for the following week. I showed up at the appointment and had a nice chat with some of this staff while Nash was setting up. They all seemed very chill and friendly. I was then shown his proposed sketch of the piece. It looked great. Hard to say that the tattoo sketch was exactly what we discussed, because I specifically asked Nash to take my more general(but now more focused) idea and and run with it a bit. That is exactly what he did. I think the piece took about 3 hours(4 hours including breaks). Nash was friendly and a fun dude to chat with while he worked on my piece. Overall a great experience and the piece looks great 1 day out. I’ll post the«just after» pic right now(about to be scabby and covered in a layer of acquaphor) and then in a few weeks when its totally healed I’ll post the finished product, which will look a lot better.

I can’t thank Three King’s Tattoo and Richard Smith enough!!! I heard a lot about the artist, Richard Smith, through friends and co workers. I did some research on him and the tattoo shop he works at. I was amazed! The details, the lining, the beautiful colors! I made a decision in no time. I called, the guy at the front desk was also very nice, Antonio. Made an appointment for a consultation, told Richard exactly what I wanted and it was a done deal! This was my first tattoo so I asked him to go easy on me! No problems at all, I sat through the entire thing(1 hour) and cried afterwards! Not because it hurt, because it was beautiful! He did a very personal piece. I recommend everyone have Three Kings tattoo as their new spot! I told all my friends and family about it. A must go to! Thank you once again Richard Smith, stay gold! See you soon guys!

went there with two other friends, great shop, definitely a cool vibe & décor. seemed like they had their shit together. however, once the consultation started, our business seemed very ‘unwelcomed’. The ‘artist’ seemed irritated and unwilling to work with customer’s ideas– had superior ‘artists’ vision’ syndrome and spoke condescendingly to all three of us(and what we were requesting). For example, saying that he «would not do any finger tattoos» because he «just wouldn’t do it, because it didn’t look good». No mention of maybe perhaps the skin on the fingers is difficult or whatever, just a very condescending, opinion aesthetically based answer. were very rude and unwelcoming. They also have a deposit of $ 100(cash), which is ok, but expensive, especially if you just want a single symbol no bigger than half an inch on your finger. Anyways, it was sad because they lost several thousand dollars that day between the three of us due to their piss poor hipster attitude. It really turned us all off. We ended up going to a different tattoo parlor, Inkstop Tattoo NYC, down the road that provided a quick, seamless, judgement free experience. Not to mention Inkstop was cheaper, and willing to work with what we wanted(and didn’t act like they invented tattoo art and could talk down to anyone that wasn’t covered in tattoo sleeves).

Great shop, great guys. Some shops make you feel as if they are doing you a favor by giving you a tattoo. Not here. They are welcoming and more than willing to help you design the best tattoo that’s perfect for you. I highly recommend Sergio. His work is unreal! He did a Dali half sleeve(and a few other pieces) for me and I couldn’t be happier. It’s not a tattoo, it’s art.

I had the best experience here! I was looking for an artist who used vegan inks and was referred to Nash Hogan. I emailed the studio to book a consultation and they were responsive and friendly. I met Nash and he took the time to talk to me about what I wanted and gave me some ideas, and he took pictures of my existing tattoos to help him create a piece that incorporated them. When I came back for my appointment he had created a beautiful back piece which was exactly what I wanted. Nash is not only an extremely talented artist but a lovely person to spend time with during many hours of tattooing! He was patient and dedicated to making sure I was happy. Everyone in the studio made me feel welcome. And my tattoo is GORGEOUS. I highly recommend Nash and Three Kings!

As the second member of our family to get a tattoo here – my daughter first, and now dad… I can say without hesitation that this is a top-rated parlor clearly in the elite of NYC which is saying something. Alex, one of the co-founders handled both of us about 6 months apart. Not only is he incredibly talented, but he’s a really nice person, an interesting guy and has superb communication skills. I never envisioned myself ever getting a tattoo, and what I have is fairly hidden, but I can say without reservation that this is the place to get it done. And no, I’m not going to post of a picture of what I got, thank you :).
