Use the benefit of eating here if you contribute a certain amount when visiting the Met. We had brunch on Saturday and they had a perfect table for us next to the window overlooking the park. My coddled eggs were exactly like jello they describe in a cooking lesson with a yummy cheese polenta with mushrooms and vegs. They also handled kids very well.

Exclusivity on display! If you are either a supporting member of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, or are fortunate enough to have a member escort you in(guilty) you can have a meal in this beautiful, and yes– exclusive dining room. Sunday brunch is terrific– a cocktail, an appetizer, an entrée, and a dessert overlooking Central Park for $ 48. I started with a delicious Bloody Mary. There were a few other cocktail choices offered, including a prosecco. Our three appetizers were a vegetable torte, a crab meat salad, and a potato pancake with smoked salmon appetizer. Our three entrees were a Ham and cheese omelette, poached eggs with smoked salmon, and flatiron steak with cheese grits and poached egg. I had the crab meat appetizer and the steak. The first dish was excellent –a nice portion of meaty crab salad, a refreshing cole slaw, and two crispy plantain strips. The steak was delicious — tender and flavorful in a beef gravy with melt in your mouth cheese grits, a poached egg, and caramelized onions. But wait– the desserts were even better! We ordered three of the available desserts– a pineapple and coconut crème roll in chocolate sauce, chocolate cake with strawberries, and a key lime bar with chocolate and blackberries. I went halfies on the first two and they were sinfully good. Service was professional, efficient, courteous and friendly. The room is beautiful. The ambiance is wonderful. The whole experience was wonderful.

This restaurant is all about ambiance. On the way heading to the restaurant room, you pass the aisles of many precious artifacts starting with the Egypt exhibition room. By the time you arrive at the dining table, you will be in a perfect romantic mood. The food is not surprisingly artistic nor anything unique. But all the food tasted good and quality of ingredients itself seems to be quite high. If you want a perfectly romantic setting, you should make sure to secure the table near the window when you make a reservation. Although there aren’t really any arts in the very room, you can enjoy the dinner with your company looking over the beautiful garden.
