First time writing a review and I’m glad that I’m writing about Wampum. I’m a frequent patron of the shops in Soho and I would like to point out the good service that Wampum provides and how they’re growing. When I visit the shop, I am impressed with the skate knowledge that the Wampum team has. Although Wampum is a clothing store, it’s cool to see how they stick to their skate roots and have found ways to grow.

This shop needs to change the name to «womp-womp» Terrible! Zero service, very limited brands available. More of a boutique than a skateshop. At least the place is clean. If the kid behind the counter wasn’t completely a zombie, I’d consider giving this shop 3 stars. If they had better selection in addition to staff I’d give them 4 stars. Seriously though. My boyfriend and I walked in looking for new skateshoes for my man. The kid didn’t even raise his head when we walked in. No hello, nothing. We asked questions out loud, kid gave no response. I dunno if his afro seeped into his brain and he forgot to speak English, but we even waved at him on the way out and he just started at us blankly. I dunno if he was TRYING to be «too cool» or if he was too high for himself to function but they won’t be getting any of my money! Bad for business!

New York City has lost many awesome skate shops in recent years and I’m very happy to see Wampum rise from the ashes of a dilapidated skate scene. Everyone in the shop is cool and helpful, its well stocked and easy to find. They have a decent shoe collection I love that its not the usual VANS dominated wall. decks 55 – 60 $, trucks 45 $, wheels 30 – 45, as far as bearing cost all good skate shops sell 15 $ reds lol
