If it’s possible to «feel bad» for a bar, then Woody’s gets my sympathy … to a degree. The drinks are overpriced even though the interiors are quite nice and spacious. Bartenders are usually friendly. Every time I’ve been to Woody’s(thrice — yes, thrice) it’s been D-E-A-D. I’ve never seen more than 10 people in there at once. It’s pretty lame(not much to see, do nor people to talk do) and of course the music deafeningly loud for no real reason. It’s strange this place would be sandwiched between two other gay bars(divey Urge and slutty The Cock) — and it would be better suited for Chelsea than LES. Don’t be fooled by the velvet rope and darkened doors«hiding» Woody’s interiors. They probably just don’t want you seeing the lack of customers in the place. Sorry Woody.

My friends took me there since it’s their thing. The environment is nice, tad dark for me to see but overall good dance and music. The drinks are little bit expensive, that’s typical of bars out there.

Love this place! I never have a bad time when I’m there. Perfect location, good music and hot men everywhere including all the staff. Mmm

Who the f*ck thought this place was a good idea? A house of frat boys — straight ones — could construct a better bar. The shellacked bearskin rug on the wall is sharp, as in don’t bump your head against it lest it be lacerated. Jessica is right, though, the picture behind the DJ is fabulous. And the round, cage-like platforms in the front bar are especially sassy. Bartenders were a bit clueless, but charming in that 23 year old kind of way. I have a feeling the crowd gets fun later on, and if *you’re* fun and if you’re *having* fun, does it really matter where you’re having it? I s’pose not. But still, this place just didn’t do much for me. It needs to figure out what it wants to be — seems like it’s trying to be everything to everyone right now. Not a good strategy, even in the East Village.

After a brief and disappointing stay at the Boiler Room, we came here groggy and lightheaded from the disgusting leftover-liquor cocktails and the ancient queens bobbing to 60’s music. How we left here, however, is a totally different story. It’s simply an awesome place. Drinks are strong. My friend was smashed way beyond comprehension after a few cocktails here. The crowd was young, mixed, and ready to dance their asses off. The floor was packed, the bumping and grinding was insane, and a couple of guys were busting out some serious moves. The lighting, décor, and ambiance were all perfect. Moody, trendy, and spacious. The best part, though, is the stripper poles. I was swinging from those things like a sex monkey in heat. The pictures I found on my digital camera were very incriminating… A night which started off whack as hell ended with a delightful bang. All thanks to Woody’s!

Sweaty boys grabbing and lushious behinds that sway in their faces and across their laps = YESPLEASE. Such fun to come here on a Saturday night for the groping, dancing and snorting scene of NYC’s seedy past. Men and the ladies that love them as gay best friends drink and get down to house and club beats. No cover charge and easy door also! P. S. Notice the picture behind the DJ, fabulous.

Went back to Woody’s. Its changed but not beyond recognition and not for the worst. The classy pool tables have been removed to make room for a large dance floor. The music seems to have actually gotten better as well(which is crazy because the music was fantastic the last time). But alas! The oiled up caged dancers in teeny tiny knickers are no more. The place still doesnt have a cover though and it was PACKED last night. Love it!

I like Woody’s more than when it was Dtox. The music’s great on Saturday’s(Family Function party), and the dance floor in the back doesn’t get too crazy packed. I thought there were 2−4 – 1’s from 10 – 11, but when I last went there wasn’t. Maybe I just got the wrong thing or they ditched it. Regardless it’s a good time. I’m also glad that those pesky mini stages that blocked the front of the bar are gone.
