World Fabrics

I’ll preface my review by saying I haven’t had a lot of experience with fabric stores in NYC’s fashion district. I wanted to get some inexpensive but nice fabric to recover some dining chairs, so I took a trip to 8^th Ave. with a list of stores. World Fabrics was perhaps the third one I happened upon. The selection of fabrics was great, and most important the sales staff was so helpful. Ben, the sales associate who ended up helping me, was very friendly (without being creepy!) and spent a lot of time helping me, even though I made it clear I was only going to be buying a couple yards of fabric. In the end I spent $ 8 for a generous 2.5 yard swath. He was unfailingly helpful and courteous the whole time. Plus, his Borat-​esque accent was charming! Go see Ben or call him — 646−319−2444.
