Pricey and overrated subterranean speakeasy in the LES who thought they could redefine the nightlife scene i thought it was a great concept, very chic and beautiful layout, very good DJ acts, decent staff but ultimately don’t know what happened here maybe the management was shotty. Honestly really though this place would do well, with the meatpacking district and LES now becoming to overcrowded this place was a gem of a lounge, oh well :(

XIX is a new speakeasy sort of night club/lounge in Noho/Chinatown/Little Italy. It is dark and sexy but drinks don’t come cheap here. It is about $ 15 a cocktail(nothing fancy about it). We were here on Thursday for a private party and the DJ was playing a lot of house until we requested some hip hop to switch it up. The DJ was alright. I think I have had better music experience before. Overall, it is a cool new venue but the price is a little hard to swallow.

I was brought here by some friends that I had met earlier in the evening and it was one of our stops towards the end of a fun evening. Had a good mix of old school hip/hop rap. gangstar, beastie boys and reggae with some 80’s mixed in. Overall still felt«new» in a good way. Not over promoted and the crowd was decent to look at. A good NY music/lounge experience.

Not sure my friends and I could have gotten in here without the people we came with, but it was a great time! I agree with the reviewer who said«you can SMOKE something» here. And it sure did seem like everyone was indeed smoking something. Alas, I do not smoke, but I do dance and the DJ was pretty good. Started out stronger than he ended, but still a nice mix of music and an interesting crowd for sure. Everyone was super skinny and tall or very hippy and trendy. Glad we had VIP cause it sure was packed in there. When we arrived, it was pretty empty and five minutes later I couldn’t see past the bar. I’ll let you know if I return without the hook up and if they let me in.

This place is hot. Pricey, but hot. Hot people, hot décor, and a seriously bangin sound system. It’s as good as submercer. Very cozy, square space, with a lot of open space in the middle for *gasp* dancing. Imagine that. Remember dancing is still illegal in this fine city. I know I know you don’t believe me. Google it! DJ messkid was spinning. A bit of dubstep, but since it was a chill space one could *almost* dance to these oddball beats. $ 22 for a vodka tonic & brooklyn lager. Heh date factor — high sound system — A+ style factor — A+ underground factor — A door drama — low

It’s very well hidden below the street, but once you find the door and descend down the staircase, you’ll enter this Roman Empire themed lounge. This will definitely impress. Black marble slabs etched with toga-clad figures line the walls. The leather booths and velvet ceiling are both lipstick red. They don’t have a food menu, but not to worry you can head back upstairs to the restaurant, where a late-night menu of small bites like tuna tartare is served until 4am. After a few $ 20 quaffs – like the Bohemian Silk, with elderflower liqueur, vodka and grapefruit juice you’ll know you picked the right place to lounge.

They closed! so upset… but are opening a new lounge end of March 2012.
