Mary’s Cheers Bar

So much fun. People are great. Plus the awesome bartender followed me outside to make sure someone who was watching me inside left me alone. Thank you for being my favorite bartender ever!!!

Friendly staff! This little hidden gem came on my radar when I was in town for business. Certainly worth a stop even though the outside doesn’t look like much. That isn’t meant to be insulting, but the food and service are quite wonderful. I will be back when I’m in town again for work.

Been to Mary’s 4 or 5 times in the last 6 months. It’s right down the road from the Hampton and the Mannheim exit off the turnpike. If your traveling you don’t have a ton of choices without driving 4 or 5 miles away from the hotel.
This place didn’t come up under restaurants in Unilocal.It was only listed as a pub. I added it as a restaurant so it would come up.
The food is good and made fresh and Inexpensive. Wings are decent. Beer is cold. So we are on the same page… this is a bar that serves food. Bar staff is very friendly. Service was quick.
There is no smoking inside which is a plus.
I will stop again while in town.

Passing through and this was close to the hotel/​had good reviews. I wasn’t disappointed. The chili was fantastic though I would probably pass on the boneless wings if I went back. Open mic night when i was there and the locals were very friendly and welcoming.

I was passing through on business on a cold Monday night and was looking for a place to grab a bite and a beer. The hotel front desk agent recommended this place and off I went. It’s a little unassuming house looking bar on the outside and a local bar/​pool hall on the inside. The lone bartender tended to all the patrons, which seemed to be mostly locals, but she didn’t make the us few visitors feel anything less than that, a local.
They had great specials on food and drinks, so I made sure to sample both. Seeing that it was 29 degrees outside, I was quickly attracted to the «famous» chili and grilled cheese. What a hearty, filling and scrumptious meal! Seems so basic, right? The chili was on point and the grilled cheese to great as well. I expected the décor, feel and beer… but did not expect the food to be as good as it was. I’d say it is basic bars selections with expert preparation.
For a place in the middle of literally nowhere, they have a good thing going.

This is a great little nightspot in Manheim, and not just for the reason that there’s not a lot of other options in the area. I’d head to this joint for a beer even if they were located in a larger city with many other bars and restaurants, just because the service is amazing.
The food is good; my bandmates and I came in for lunch one day after practicing at the Renaissance Festival down the road. They have good deals on sandwiches, and the chili is delicious, as well. Didn’t try the hot wings, myself, but I’ve heard they’re good.
The beer selection is pretty good, and you can take a six-​pack or two with you to go, as well. I’m not from Pennsylvania, so this was a nice bonus for me, though it seems it’s a pretty standard practice. The Yuengling on tap was my beer of choice because I always prefer to drink local brews if I can, and it was nice and affordable, as well.
The staff is what sold me on the place; it was friendly and inviting at any time of night, and whoever was bartending didn’t feel disconnected from the crowd. They weren’t there to serve the locals, they were one of the locals. They were part of the community, and even though I was only in town during the weekend for the festival, looking for a place to unwind that was actually open after the cannon fired, I felt like I was part of the community, too. They bridged that gap, introduced me to everyone (or everyone to me; it was seamless enough that everything just fell into place), and I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town.

Friendly staff including the owner, Mary, who everyone seems to know and like. The food was pretty good including the wings and the chili.
