We needed a quick breakfast before our rafting trip and this place was perfect. Awesome diner style breakfast, lots on the menu. My omelet and hash browns were perfect. I think we got our food in under 5 minutes, server was very fast and attentive. If you want a perfect greasy spoon breakfast, this is your spot.

Checked this place out upon the recommendation of friends. Went on a weekday morning to avoid crazy weekend crowds. Saw corned beef hash on the menu and asked if they make it from scratch. Sadly they serve it out of a can. Nope, I don’t dine out to eat stuff I can easily do at home. So ended up ordering a coffee, one pancake, their homemade pecan bread, and a small order of biscuits and gravy. Coffee and the biscuits and gravy were nothing to write home about. Pancake was pretty good. The homemade pecan sweet bread was absolutely disgusting! I couldn’t believe the one thing the menu highlighted was homemade was horrible. I mostly avoid big chain restaurants and am always looking for locally owned places to try out. Wish I could say I would check out Uncle Sam’s again, but most likely will not go back.

One star because the staff was super friendly and the service good. The food… not so much. I ordered the green chili and cheese omelet. Pretty sure the green chili came from a can because it tasted, well, like I think a can would taste if I were it eat one! The pancakes were decent. The hubs ordered chicken fried steak… tasted like a pre-fab chicken fried steak! Not horrible but definitely not great, either. We were hoping for home cooked goodness… sadly disappointed.

Great breakfast place for sure. Staff was friendly and the service was fast! Eggs Benny was delicious, steak and eggs were good, however I thought the steak was of low quality. I know it’s breakfast steak, but I still believe you should use a quality fresh cut of meat. Overall I was satisfied and would recommend!

First time was great. This time, not so much. It’s super snowy this Saturday and we decided to call in an order for pick up. I was asked if we needed silverware to eat, and I responded, «Yes.» When my boyfriend when to pick the order up, she also assured him that there were eating utensils. WRONG! So, needless to say my french toast was extremely soggy as we searched for utensils. I called to let the lady who took the order, who also assured us that there was adequate eating utensils, and she, «tee-hee’d» several times, followed by an, «I’m sorry, tee hee.» I asked if they could comp my french toast, just the french toast, as we had two orders. She said«No», I am responding with a review. Thanks for adding injury to insult, laugh at me because you didn’t do your job??? How dare you.

Amazing staff feels like a family run business. Food was tasty and hot. Servers were very polite and kind to my family. We’ve been visiting for three days and we’ve ate there every morning. A+++++++++. Would def recommend.

Good place to go when you want some very good breakfast. My favorite thing on their menu is the biscuits and gravy. To die for, so good and for a reasonable price too. You don’t have to pay out of pocket for an expensive breakfast but so simple in pricing. I would recommend this place to anyone who must have breakfast but for a reasonable price.

Slow service and for having the word pancakes in its name the pancakes were just ok. But if you spend the day hiking at manitou incline you will be ready to eat anything. If they have it — try the spinach omelette. For being divey I thought the prices were kind of high.

I took my son here over the winter. It was absolutely freezing in the back dining room. The food was decent but it’s just pancakes, bacon, and eggs. We both got the same thing. I had coffee and he had water. Our check was near $ 24. Holy crap!!! I won’t be going back. FYI Rudy’s Little Hideaway serves breakfast for about half the price and you get chips and salsa.

Adore this place! The food is so so so good… I also think the décor is unique and fun. Only problem is that they are not open for the afternoon… we always seem to miss them on our way through Colorado Springs area. The omelets are delicious and the pancakes are the best in Southern Colorado. Get there before 2pm and enjoy a delicious breakfast!

My wife and I enjoy local breakfast spots when we travel. We have fallen in love with Uncle Sam’s. The pancakes are awesome but we have tried omelettes and other breakfast items. All are incredible! As if good food wasn’t reason enough to eat there, the service is over the top. My coffee cup never got to half full that someone wasn’t filling it up. Who knows how many quarts of coffee I end up getting there at each meal. Wow! Incredible!

Staffing problems caused me to stand out in the cool wind for 15 minutes in the dark. Posted hours from 6am to 2pm but the doors opened for business at 623am. Red, white and blue assaulted me inside. Very patriotic and quaint. Proud to be an American. The restaurant was clean and gleamed bright. Fresh black coffee hit the spot and warmed the bones. The biscuits and gravy were palatable. The gravy was odd tangy and scarce on the sausage bits. It was worth it for the price, one biscuit sliced in half and covered with the luke warm gravy. I was grateful for the meal as I was famished. With limited breakfast spots in Manitou Springs, this place is a go to spot. Overall I was not impressed. Try all breakfast nooks in town for different variety. You’ll be glad you did.

Okay so there Decour may be a little cheesy but I didn’t come here for the Interior design work okay? Let me tell you this place is only one thing F-A-N-T-A-S-T-IC! The best little breakfast spot I have found in Colorado yet! Simple not fancy as one put it but a sheer delightful none the less! Seafood Omelette was flavorful & cooked perfect on two occasions. So It was great having that kind of consistency and it was yummy for certain. The corn beef hash was crazy good and we will miss it back in Texas. Coffee was hot, Nice selection of jams, jelly & apple butter right at the table for your toast. That was cool. My coffee was hot and the waitress attending to us was a nice enough sweet girl. I would definitely come here again and certainly suggest it to others. It was a great way to start our day on a lovely hike with our dogs & I was so full I even had leftover pancake left for them ;)

If you are looking for a place where the locals go, this would be it. Uncle Sam’s is an all american diner with great food. I personally have never been let down by the service, food, portions, or price(and I dont know anyone else who has either). The only thing missing is Nicky. :(

I guess it’s good for me that no one noticed me standing in the waiting area for 5 or 10 min. I shouldn’t be enjoying biscuits & gravy or buttermilk pancakes after I hike the Barr Trail. So instead of supporting locally own establishments, I opted for Starbucks. I’ll try again some other day. Maybe
