I really like this place. Good food, good service, good atmosphere. They definitely have some of the best breakfast offerings in Mankato — Reuben benedict was fantastic, husband’s Bicker breakfast was also great(loved the wild rice sausage). I also like their infused Jameson offerings and there’s typically a pretty good selection of beer on tap. All in all, it’s definitely one of Mankato’s better offerings for food, especially breakfast.

Had breakfast and got the bicker breakfast. The hash browns were delicious, and I got a very large portion for cheap 8 bucks. I couldn’t even finish it. Great service from their waitress Dylan!

I have been here before and loved it, recommended it to friends but tonight came in kind of late and had a bartender that was extremely rude named pat and I left without even drinking my entire beer. Will not return and will not recommend anymore.

I went there this week for the first time and loved it! The atmosphere is clean and welcoming along with the attentive staff. I especially liked the Elvis chicken sandwich(or burger) with pineapple and peanut butter. I will definitely go back!

Ordered the onion rings. AMAZING. my boyfriend got the shepherds pie, and I got the Jameson burger. The food was better than most bar food I’ve had. The waitress was super friendly and I would come back again.

Great little pub in old town(Downtown) Mankato. We got an order of Scotch eggs for an app. These were awesome, Had Scotch eggs before and theses were toward the top of the list on flavor. Had the Meatball sandwich, Done with Lamb and a sweet onion and curry sauce. Very good and the«sidewinders» which are really big curly potato wedges were ok, I would have liked mine a little more crunchy but would have them again. One of our party had Bangers and Mash(read Keilbasa) but he liked it. The other party in our group had the burger with a fried egg on top. She had never experienced that before and I waited for her comments. «Who would have thought that would be so good».

Great pub for mankato. Great apps scotch eggs are on point. Bangers were more like kielbasa but still great. They pour Guinness right and in the right glass as well. Somehow other bars in town cannot. Great atmosphere proper pub.

Very unaccommodating. We went in to watch the wild game. They turned it off mid period to put on the basketball game. That game was on 2 other TVs. We asked them to put it back on and the bartender tried. We even asked the people around us at the bar if they would mind and they said they would not. The bartender returned to tell us the owner would not let him put it on any of the TVs. This says to me that the owner does not care about his guests. I will not be back. There are plenty of other bars in Mankato with better management.

As others have said, Bicker Inn is Mankato-okay but boy I was hoping for better. I will start with the good, I called a day ahead and asked about seating a larger group, and given the time of day we’d be showing up the folks at Bicker Inn were willing to accommodate. The gal who started out our table was friendly and quick to take care of our needs. The pub itself looks good, clean, and while the place is a little cozy our group of eight didn’t feel crammed in to our table. And now to the meh. About halfway through our meal our first server had to swap us over to a new server due to a shift change, and while the new server was Mankato-okay we had a few folks waiting a long time for requested simple sides, drink refills, and it felt like a good fifteen minutes of everyone being done with everything before it occurred to her that we might want to close our checks. Moving over to food I’ll again acknowledge some good, my buddy’s Shepherd’s Pie looked pretty darn tasty. That said, my Scotch Egg and Bangers & Mash really didn’t live up to expectation and another friend’s Elvis in Hawaii burger would have left The King of Rock and Roll sorely disappointed at the sparsity of toppings. The Scotch Eggs had the thinnest-possible coating of sausage over an already hard-boiled egg, so the result after cooking the outside was dry and much less savory than it should have been. I’d expect at least a quarter-inch(but ideally closer to a half-inch) coating of sausage and then light breading all the way around a soft-boiled egg, that way the outer cooking process heats the inside a bit more but doesn’t make the yolk dry and flaky. I wasn’t a big fan of either sauce which came with the Scotch Eggs, but that’s just me being picky and I’m sure others may think them fine. The mashed potatoes and gravy in my Bangers & Mash were delicious on their own and the steamed veggies were a good addition, but the gravy was missing onions and Bicker Inn chose to use kielbasa-style sausage rather than the more traditional Cumberland sausage(or some other pork sausage) which you would find in most instances of the dish. Now I acknowledge that ‘bangers’ can be just about any sort of sausage you’d like, but I was really hoping for a traditional offering and not Mankato-okay. One last niggle, I was hoping that an Irish pub would have the decency to put an Irish cider on tap, but I was instead left with Angry Orchard. AO is okay if I’m eating burgers or wings, but it doesn’t belong in a traditional pub’s taps. So to wrap it up I’m glad there’s a new restaurant in Mankato that is serving dishes more interesting than the short-order slop you’ll find at places like Pub 500, but Bicker Inn missed the mark on their promise of being a ‘true Irish pub.’

The atmosphere was great. Went with some co-workers for happy hour and it was perfect. Good selection of beer and other drinks. The food was also amazing. I loved the variety. We tried 3 appetizers and they all were very good. Will be going there again in the near future.

A great alternative to typical Mankato bar food. Thank God there’s now a bar that serves more than just wings and burgers. The atmosphere was a good Southern Minnesota interpretation of an Irish Pub: dark paneling, tile floors, tastefully decorated. The long narrow room felt a little like Gluek’s. My only feedback is that the lights could have been dimmer. We had scotch eggs, lamb meatballs and bangers and mash. It was all pretty tasty, nothing amazing, but made us want to sample other things on the menu. Beer selection was alright, featuring predictable Guinness. They could have had more Irish offerings. Our server(the bartender, as we sat at the bar) was lacking in personality, but I won’t hold it against him. Didn’t speak much. Had to flag him down for another beer, even though our glasses had been empty for awhile. Maybe he was having a bad day. Im anxious to come back and try it again and will update my review when I do. I give it a solid Mankato four out of five stars(that’s equivalent to a two and a half or three in NYC).
