Four stars for the class of hotel it is — nothing super luxurious but very comfortable and functional for a short term stay or stop over for the night. Pleasant staff and decent included breakfast, the rooms are kept very clean and as new as possible — I recently stayed there, and had stayed there six years prior. The room(s) seemed to be in the same condition between visits, and it is refreshing to see a hotel of this tier being maintained at such a high level.

Checked in and than checked out a few hours later. our room smelled like vomit and cigarette smoke. and my toliet did not flush. cigarette bruns in the chairs and it was a non smoking room. you could see the yellow stained pillows throu the pillow case. came down to Mankato for the Airshow. and needed somewhere to cool off and unwind with our child should have just went to a rest stop and to relax I stead of this hotle. we were planning on staying but the stench was horrible and they charge way to high of a price for the rooms. The pool also needed a lot of work. went to check out and managment did not compensate our stay. We only stayed for a few hours because we had friend’s staying there too and there kids wanted to swim. I would never stay there again or at any Days Inn.

Now now. this is certainly not a Marriott Hotel, and for that reason it is very very good for it’s class of hotel. The check in was speedy and the young woman behind the counter was very friendly. The pool looked very clean and well kept, and only the«wing» of smoking rooms on the first floor had even an errant scent of smoke. The rest of the hotel from my walk through it was actually not too bad. It could use a little updating where the carpeting and lighting are concerned, but not bad. The room was perfect for me. Clean, had a larger sized mini-fridge than I am even used to. I had an LCD television that can’t have been more than a year or two old. My bathroom had nice fixtures, and the king size bed was very comfortable and had more pillows than even my bed at home. The only thing I didn’t like about it was a somewhat ratty looking recliner that seemed really out of place. This hotel is a Days Inn. It is your typical 2-star accomodations, and it’s exceptionally reasonable for all of the amenities that it does offer. Suggestions for staying here? Don’t expect a continental breakfast, that is not what they offer. They have cereal, pastries, toast, etc. Request a non-smoking room if you don’t want your room to stink. I specifically stated when I booked the room that I had to have non-smoking. My room smelled like carpet deoderizer and the Chinese food I had for dinner. Enjoy the pool/hottub. They are open until midnight and are actually very nice to use! I don’t know when I will venture back to Mankato, but I will be sure to give this place a look. After all, it’s a hotel room. If you are using it for more than sleep, you should have rented an apartment.

Listen. I understand. This is a cheap stay and you shouldn’t expect 5 star luxuries, and I am by no means am no hotel snob and thrive as long as I have a decent bed to lay my pretty head on. But even I felt disgusting staying here. The whole place wreaks of smoke, hairs on my bed/sheets, floor had damp spots everywhere, hot tub/pool was some sort of drunken gathering of drunkenness, the«breakfast» provided should be ashamed of itself… and the tv was at least 20 years old. Giving if two stars because… well, I’m a nice person.
