Went to Michaels today to get supplies to finish making holiday gifts for my family. I spoke to one employee who told me yes they accept competitor coupons and I could use more than one as long as they had different barcode numbers. However, when I got to the checkout the cashier told me they only accept one competitor coupon per transaction. So I asked if we could do multiple transactions and she sighed at me like I was being difficult. I only had 4 items. She then called her manager over and with a snotty attitude said to him that I «needed help understanding the coupon policy». No, I didn’t. He then tried to tell me that I couldn’t use any of my non-Michaels coupons and I should come back with a friend so they could use my coupons for me. Seriously?! When I pointed out the stupidity in that he said, «Fine. I guess we can make an exception since it’s the holidays but don’t try this again in the future.» Don’t worry. With your shitty customer service, I can guarantee that I won’t.

I’ve been to this Michaels twice now and their customer service is really great. The first time I needed a kind of unique(or so I thought) frame and the employee that helped me actually found a frame from the shelf that fit my need(instead of selling me custom framing services which saved me a lot of money and I appreciated). When I was there yesterday I again had a great employee assist me. I was looking for green ivy silk flowers and everyone seems to only have all(reds, yellows, oranges) in their stocks right now. Little did I know they still had their regular stock of silk flowers in the back of the store. One area that Michaels is lacking in is sewing supplies. I wanted a couple of frog toggles and they had 1 side of 1 isle that had sewing supplies. But there are certainly other stores that make that much more of there focus than Michaels does.
