Came here tonight for nye 2015 and had a wonderful dinner. Our server Darryl was very professional and fun to talk to. He made sure all of our food was perfect and our drinks came in a timely manner. I had q burger and salad and it was phenomenal. I can’t wait to come back to Mansfield to visit again

This place was excellent. Not sure why the other reviews were so negative. Our server Christine was excellent. Very attentive to the needs at our table. We sis learn there was new management in this place making it better. I got the soup and salad all you care to eat and the waitress was very good about getting refills. Overall a great experience.

I have only been here once, and it was for take-out. I cannot speak on the behalf of the dine in customers, just my experience with take out. The ordering was simple, I called and placed the order with a live person. The estimated time for completion was right on point, down to the minute. I had the buffalo chicken wrap with steak fries, it was better than average. The portion size however was large! The quality of the chicken in the wrap was very high, and the tortilla wrap was one of the best I’ve had. The price was 8.99 and I thought it was a good deal based on portion size. Overall my carryout experience was good, and I would recommend them.

I had never been to or heard of Old Bag of Nails Pub before my friend decided to have her Sip & See(Baby Shower) in their party room. First of all the staff was amazing, very cordial and helpful. We arrived early to setup decorations and we were asked multiple times if we needed any help at all. The manager came in and introduced himeself. He was exetremely thorough and attentive. The food we order was delicious. We had the Mussels & Jumbo Shrimp, I could have ate at least 3 more orders!

Smelled like dead fish. Had to leave. Bartender said«You know what we are known for.» I said«What?, bad fish??» She walked away.

Went for dinner and had an okay experience. Good enough I would come back, but I still have a few complaints. I got no silverware when my meal came out. It was difficult to get the waiters attention because he was in back using the Point Of Service machine. Phone calls for other staff seemed more important than helping me out with my requests. Food was great. Salad was good. Clam chowder was solid(lots of potatoes very little clam). French onion was still good, but had lots of cheese and bread. Would want about half the amount if toppings next time. Still 4 stars. 1 for cleanliness, 1 for edible food, 1 for decent service, 1 for awesome drink prices. No «wow factor» star. Reviewed rating would go down to 3.5 stars, yet ill still give them 4 stars because they actively try. Still understaffed. Again, No silverware with my salad. Then no spook with my soup. Maybe i shoulda just shoved my face in there and eaten like an animal? Place is called old bag of nails. Sounds like farm food served in a rickety barn.

We have tried this place twice. Like the atmosphere and really expected to like the food. This trip I tried chicken strips. They were tough and overdone. No variety of sauce made me want to finish them. Probably won’t return.

What a disappointment. This place could Kill it but no chance. When walked in, two hostess at stand but not greeted for a while. It was a Friday night and we expected 30 minute wait. They told us 30 – 40 minute wait. We were seated in 20. That was the highlight of the night. We were asked literally«what do you want to drink» no greeting, no hello no nothing. Asked for an appetizer and drinks. Appetizer came out cold. They microwaved it and brought back out. No flat ware no napkins nothing. Never got refills. Meal was totally incorrect. Sent back and when it came back out, it was raw in the middle. This whole experience was SUCH a let down. Management did comp our meal but entire staff seemed overwhelmed. Under staffed.

Let’s be honest: I came here because this pub has the weirdest name ever. I was in town supporting some family members at the Tough Mudder when I realized it was cold and I didn’t feel like paying $ 40 to watch them run through mud. So I was off to find the best way to kill 4 hours and spend that $ 40! By checking my trusty Unilocal app, OBON popped up, and I didn’t care what other reviews said: I had to come purely for the name. Popped in around 2 on a Saturday afternoon. Plenty of room at the spacious bar. I asked what local or craft brews they had on tap, and was given a printed list of beer names. I did not find this helpful at all, as I had to ask the bartender what type of beer each one was. I have found it helpful when other bars label beers«wheat», «IPA», «stout» etc. I asked for a wheat beer on tap. None. I asked for a pilsner on tap. None. For a bar with the«best beer selection in town» I would expect at least one of each style of beer to be on tap. Alas, it wasn’t meant to be. I tried a few brews and found them to be around $ 7 each. I’m used to paying less than $ 6 for a pint of good local craft beer in a much bigger city that this, so I was a little stumped until my beer was delivered. This isn’t a regular pint, it’s quite large so you get your money’s worth. Disclaimer: I didn’t have the food, but it looked and smelled amazing! Would I be back? Probably no, because I like a bar with a wider selection of beers on draught but the service was friendly enough.

I eat lunch here when I am in town for a meeting. Generally the food is good as well as the wait staff.

Why all the hate? A nice rotating craft beer selection($ 6-$ 7 is reasonable folks), strong menu selections with many seafood options. The fish tacos were hearty and paired nicely with my Bell’s draft beer. The establishment itself appears to be fairly new, plentiful televisions for your viewing pleasure and a pleasant bartending/waitressing staff. Should I return to my new favorite jeweler, Haring Jewelers, I’ll be sure to stop in again for a pint.

Went here once for lunch while visiting Mansfield, and really enjoyed our experience. The dining room was nice, fairly upscale. It had TVs showing sports events, but it did not feel like a sports bar(a good thing). Most of our party got the soup and salad lunch special and enjoyed all the soups quite a bit. The only complaint was that the house salad had only Iceberg lettuce(and a lot of bacon). The spinach salad was much better, with a very generous portion of spinach. I really, really enjoyed my BBQ burger. I strongly recommend it. The cook did a great job with the temperature. If we come back to Mansfield then we wouldn’t hesitate to come back to this place.

Best beer selection in Mansfield! This place attracts a mixed crowd. I’ve been there a few times and I’ve seen regulars, families with teenage kids coming straight from church, younger couples watching football games, and people in to enjoy a good beer. The staff is friendly, the place is clear, the beer selection is great, and there is lots of parking.(The cover photo is not the correct building… at least not for this location.) I’d give this a 3.5 star rating. 3 because it wouldn’t be my first choice of bars, but 4 because it is the best in the area.

A fun little place that we enjoy when visiting family in Mansfield! Service can be spotty, but overall I really think it’s one of Mansfield’s better spots! Small parking lot! I’ll usually have the Ruben or the shrimp. The shrimp were lightly breaded and very tasty while the Ruben was very yummy and served on marbled rye bread!

HORRIBLESERVICE! The server made fun of the hostess for not knowing that they had a gluten free menu yet proceeded to bring our bean dip with flour chips and the steak with the toast. Even better when it was brought to her attention about the toast, she just took her fingers and took the toast off the plate! Under no circumstance should a server remove something off a plate wither her fingers! GROSS Skip this place

A regular neighborhood hang out for me. Fun, relaxed bar atmosphere. Great craft beer selection but pricey($ 6 — $ 7 pints). Staff and management are very friendly. Food is hit or miss with inconsistent quality.

This is my local hang out. Good draft beers but they are over priced. Food and service is a hit or miss. I only rate this a 3 star because it is the only place with good beer and food that is in the neighbor hood. It could use some improvement.

They have some good micro brews but they are expensive at 6 – 7 dollars a pint. The food is a gamble

In 1981, due to the clever machinations of that giant of capitalism, Ronald Reagan, I trickled out of college and down into my childhood bedroom, in Richland County. The economy sucked, though slightly less than it does right now, under the ineffective oversight of President Obama. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Anyway, Mansfield c. 1981 was a cultural backwater replete with mullets, watery beer and jukeboxes that played only the J. Geils Band and John Cougar Mellencamp. It was a dark period in our history. Now it is 2011, and my young niece has been similarly grounded, post-college. Thank god she doesn’t have to drink Coors or, the«craft» beer of 1981, Michelob. Bag o’ Nails(I’m pretty sure there’s some«o’» in there) provides a modest but respectable selection of craft and imported bottled beer for the enjoyment of discerning Mansfielders. And Lexingtonians. And Ashlanders. And Ontarantinos. If this place was in Chicago it would irritate the hell out of me with the too-many teevee screens, and the questionable live music, and the everything-is-fried bar menu. However, it is in Richland County, and long may this bar thrive. Also, there is a fountain in front shaped like a giant beer stein.
