Not impressed. Service was very poor. Food is nothing to brag about, desserts are good, but that’s about it. I would rather make a trip to Dallas to go to Cedar’s, that is a real delightful experience. I do like to support small business but unfortunately I won’t be coming back.

RAZ does not disappoint! Their buffet is fabulous and includes a large variety of dishes and desserts. Their menu items are reasonably priced and offer foods that appeal even to my pickiest child. Hummus, babaganoush, Ash-reshteh, salmon, koubideh, rice, love cake, and Persian tea are all absolutely fabulous!!! But the food, even at the amazingness that it is, doesn’t compare to the welcome and family treatment of Hamid, Lisa, and their family. I have eaten Persian food since our Persian neighbors invited us for dinner when I was 8. Now 32 years later it is still one of my absolute favorite foods and Raz is my favorite restaurant!

Food is good but way overpriced. Save your money and drive to Arlington to the Lebanese prince, it’s worth it!

This place is great, good food, good service. I saw 2 different reviews that had a problem with the fries; This is NOT a Mc Donalds or Burger King. This is Middle Eastern food that doesn’t taste like hamburgers OR Tacos, this is food with a different kind of taste. The food is great and authentic. The service is great as well BUT they do not ask if you want to Super Size your order. This is not a burger place, but the prices are close to it.

Had a really good lunch buffet. Enjoyed some really unique creations. Not at all what I expected but I was pleasantly surprised. Save room for the delicious desert.

My husband and I stopped by on a whim and were totally suprised by how much we loved it! It was pretty slow(around 4pm) so we got a chance to talk to the owners, who were so friendly and accomodating. The buffet was supposed to shut down at 3pm but they still had it set up and they let us take advantage of it. The eggplant chicken was my husband’s favorite(he had 3 full plates of it over rice) and I happened to like everything, especially the meatballs and chickpea salad. We eat alot of Greek/Medi/Turkish-type food and it was refreshing to try some new-to-us dishes. The wife, apparently, makes the desserts and they are delicious! Normally, buffet desserts are pretty disappointing but I would go back just for that chocolate cake!

This is a super place for med grub at a fair price. Fresh and healthy ingredients. First time in so I lunched on the buffet figuring to get a little of everything. 12 bux and I wasn’t interested in dinner that evening. I’ll go back soon and go off the menu.

RAZ Mediterranean Café is located in a small strip mall, partially hidden behind a CVS. I had read about this place in a Facebook group. It is BYOB, seats about 36 inside and has a couple small tables outside(great for Turkish coffee in the evening). They have a regular menu and a lunch buffet that runs 11 – 2 Monday — Saturday. I’ve eaten there a couple of times and always come away satisfied. Everything is made fresh in the kitchen using family recipes. Raz and his wife come out and converse with the diners regularly. The regular menu runs the usual gyros, salads, kabobs, etc. The buffet has a hot table with entrees and sides, and a cold table with salads, desserts, and sauces. I was very impressed with the cold table; most buffets use it as an afterthought. They have a fresh salad with tomatoes and cucumbers — I usually avoid buffet salads but this one just drew me in. There is also tabbouleh, hummus, olives, dolmas, and a delicious yogurt dip with walnuts. The yogurt works great as a salad dressing and a dip for pita bread and kabobs. The hot side has several standard items and some rotating dishes. The buffet can either be outstandingly fresh, or so-so. One day, I came in around 1 pm on a Monday and everything looked and tasted like it was just put out. Another time I showed up right after noon and some items looked and tasted like they had been simmering there for a while. My absolute favorite item is the Khorest Bademjan, eggplant stew with chicken. Placed over rice, this is heavenly. Being a simple person, I also love the beef meatball-like kabobs. Dipped in the yogurt, they are savory and tangy. They also have dessert — Persian Love Cake, which I love and could probably eat an entire tray, and a dark chocolate cake with hazelnut icing — very rich. They also have fresh baklava and dates. The dates are very good, better than what I can find in most places. Overall, RAZ Mediterranean Café is a great option for an area overloaded with burgers and Tex-Mex. The only drawback are their fries. The fries aren’t bad, but I’m not a huge fan of thin shoestring fries. I prefer a thicker cut, especially to go with a gyros.

Stopped at Raz with my daughter for the first time today while out running errands. Didn’t know they were in the area. The business isn’t very visible from the street. I talked to the owners about that while there. They were very pleasant. I ordered a gyros and the lady in front discussed all the many other foods her husband prepared. When the gyros came up, my daughter decided she wanted to try the Persian love cake dessert. When we got home and tasted our food, I wanted to immediatly call the restaurant to say how delicious it was. The veggies on the gyros were fresh, the meat thinly sliced and flavorful. The Persian love cake was fabulous. We will be frequently visiting Raz

We had to run some errands in Mansfield last night so decided to stop for dinner. Since it was too late for us to go to our favorite place in Mansfield we came here based on the reviews. There’s nothing terribly wrong with RAZ, but really there’s nothing all that great either that we tried anyway. I had the gyro wrap with fries, my husband had a kabob sandwich and we shared a side of hummus. The hummus was ok, but we’ve had better. It was very creamy and maybe a little thin in texture, but not as much flavor as I like. Maybe it was too light on the tahini or not enough other seasonings? Anyway it doesn’t measure up to our favorite places in Arlington. The portion was very large, which is good since they charge $ 6 for it, but honestly I’d rather have half the size portion and pay $ 3 or $ 4 for it. Between the two of us we couldn’t finish it. My gyro wrap was also very large, it had a lot of meat in it and also a lot of lettuce, giant slices of tomato and unfortunately giant slices of red onion that were a bit painful in such large size. I had to pick them out. Red onions need to be extremely thin if you’re going to serve them raw as they are overpowering. I’d have preferred the tomato chopped smaller as well but that wasn’t as big a deal. The one thing I didn’t really need sliced thinner was the gyro meat but it was sliced very thin. Honestly, it didn’t have a strong flavor to it. I’m used to gyros with a lot more seasoning I think because it was just a bit blander than I was expecting. I did like that it wasn’t greasy and the sauce it came with had a nice amount of dill. The fries were decent, fairly standard thin cut. Overall prices are good for what you get size wise though as I said I’d have preferred to be able to order smaller appetizers that one or two could eat and finish comfortably. Our meal for 2 ended up being about $ 25 before tip, so $ 30 after tip. Which was high for the flavor of food though not high for the quantity or quality of ingredients. All in all, I favor taste over volume. I do appreciate that they make the food fresh but it just doesn’t have the wow factor I’m looking for. If I worked nearby I’d be happy eating lunch here but it’s not a destination.

You get much more than you pay for. The owner and cook puts real love into every dish and it shows! If you like middle eastern/Persian, Greek food you gotta try this place. You can’t beat the value for the price and the flavor is awesome. Enjoy Unilocalers and thanks to other reviewers I have a new favorite place

They don’t know how to pronounce Gyro, which scared me. This place may not have the best grammar, but the food is great. The gyro is very well done. Lamb meat is shaved and the tzatziki(Cucumber sauce) is wonderful. The fries aren’t great but average. The salad is nice also. I’ll try the Buffett next time.

Raz is a small restaurant, but don’t let that fool you. There is big flavor hiding in this little strip mall restaurant. They have a lunch buffet for 9.99 Monday thru Saturday. There is a hot buffet station and a cold buffet station. The hot side has choices of meat and veggies ranging from chicken to beef to lamb. The cold side has salads galore. Cucumber and tomato salad, tabbouleh, hummus and various other salads plus cake and baklava for desert. Everything is flavorful and delicious. Service is quick and friendly. I will definitely be back!

Great buffet! Fast service. We tried it for the first time with our 4&2year olds last week. Everyone loved the food, even my picky hubby! It’s on the pricey side as they charge $ 4.99 for our little ones, even the 2 year old(I think kids under 4 should be free, as they eat very little). Fast & very efficient service. The owner made sure our table was cleaned & water was filled timely. Will try their menu next time.

Just a great hole-in-the-wall with excellent Persian food! The owner is amazing-always popping out of the kitchen to make sure the customers are happy and making special entrée modifications without any reservations! The chicken kabobs fall apart with a fork! The pomegranate chicken stew dish is phenomenal! Try these! We really need to support local business in this area, so we will definitely be back! Next time, I will definitely bring a bottle of wine.

I have eaten here multiple times and have never been disappointed! The food is full of flavor and fresh! I like the fact that it is all healthy and a good option for those of us watching our weight. The prices are very reasonable for the portions they serve. The Raz sauce is AMAZING. The lunch buffet has a good variety, but my favorite is the paprika chicken, Mmm!!! If you’re not too full from all the yummy food, you MUST try the love cake! Its a vanilla cake soaked with cream of coconut & rose water topped with fresh whipped cream, strawberries and pistachios. Top it off with a pot of Persian Tea, you WILLNOT be disappointed! Happy Eating!!!

Love, love, love this place. Family owned and operated. First I must say I’m totally not a buffet person but this place is outstanding! They have a menu if you don’t want the buffet and just want a kabob or sandwich but the buffet is always fresh and has a great variety. Their baked eggplant, omg! I can’t remember what they call this one chicken dish but I call it mediterranean mole, so awesome. I have yet to have anything there that I didn’t simply love. They have cake on the buffet everyday. The love cake is an cream cake with whip cream and strawberries. TODIEFOR!

BESTHUMMUSEVER! The staff(husband and wife) are always very friendly and initiate conversation. We tend to order the feta, hummus, pita and falafel plate which have all been great. Don’t forget to bring your own wine to complete the meal. The lighting freaks me out a bit with the blue sheets over the lights and it makes you look like you have jaundice but other than that we always enjoy a night at Raz.
