In all the years I’ve lived near this Steak and Shake it’s never gotten any better! I think maybe WORSE. The service is unbelievable as far as getting in and getting acknowledged to be seated. Empty tables everywhere but none of them cleared. Wait staff everywhere but I guess they all feel that THEY are too busy to help clear tables or seat guests. I think they figure they’ll let someone else do it. Like we aren’t there waiting if they don’t look at us. «If» you can get a seat, you will wait to be waited on. Drinks come out maybe 15 minutes later and if you order a shake, forget about it. You’ll actually get your food first. Management, if there is any, needs to totally restructure how they operate. Gee, get some bus boys maybe? Have a hostess? Don’t have the entrance also BETHEEXIT! Have someone manning the register so when I want to pay my bill I’m not standing there for 5 minutes first. Have the register somewhere else so the crowd waiting to be seated isn’t INTHEWAY. Get a clue Steak and Shake. This business has been around too long to be as disgusting as it is.

Visited this location after going snow tubing. Such a big mistake. Got there waited for 15 minutes to get seated. Ordered a m&m milkshake. Didn’t get it till the end of the meal. The order took ages. Horrible server. Cold food. Such a mess of a location. Not one good worker. Never go here if you are in the area.

First time to a Steak and Shake. Most likely my last. Décor was fun and the biggest positive. Service was slow. Staff is all extremely pleasant but lack leadership. A lot of chaous and confusion between the kitchen and the waitstaff. Not sure if there was a manager here but if there was they should be fired for incompetence. Group in front of me was a party of 6… Hostess became flustered because she only had 3 menus. It’s worth noting that the place was only about 50% filled. No idea why there was a shortage of menus. Fortunately by the time we got seated somebody had turned in two menus. The menus were tattered and difficult to read however. We ordered chicken fingers and a steak burger patty melt. We also ordered two milkshakes. My strawberry banana milkshake tasted good but had a couple of unknown hard items towards the bottom of it. The chicken fingers were very good however we were offered blue cheese dipping sauce which we selected along with honey mustard dipping sauce. The honey mustard arrived with the meal and the blue cheese arrived later but was actually ranch. The patty melt was terrible. It really should’ve been called a mustard sandwich. It was a tiny piece of beef sandwich with cheese between two monsters pieces of bread. The condiments, especially the mustard, where overwhelming, dripping out the sides, and all you could taste. The prices on the menu are extremely inexpensive and there is one promotion after another to either give you something for nothing or discount stuff. This chain should really consider increasing its prices and providing larger burgers or smaller bread and they could probably afford to buy menus if they did that.

Ive probably been to this steak & shake a million times when I lived in Mansfield over the years. There’s not many choices for night owls out there to eat at 3am, but this place reigns supreme at offering a little variety and the price is astonishingly low for what you get. Denny’s can’t touch it at all. Place is located off of the highway on Possum Run right by a WalMart and Cracker Barrel, it’s easy to find. On the weekends depending on what time you visit at night, you’ll run into the loud bar crowd, but its mostly families during the day. They have the best milk shakes you can find for $ 3.69. All sorts of flavors and combinations. There’s an entire menu of meals with fries for only $ 4, and this has been an on going thing at Steak & Shake for as far as I can remember. I love the fries, perfect shoe string style. The burgers are amazing too, I suggest the Frisco Melt. Has thousand island sauce on it like Mac sauce but better. If you ever have an issue here, they’ll make it right and probably discount your price. Highly recommend.

This is always the slowest drive through. They continuously get our order wrong. Every time we drive the Columbus to Cleveland drive and stop here, I state we will never stop here again. Then we do and I am disappointed again!

Came with a group of 8 and had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. Their bus boy sucked, he took easily 5 plus minutes to clear the single table and we had to walk over and ask him to clear a table big enough for us to sit down. Management needs to come in and change things ASAP

I am astounded at the extremely poor customer service that followed an abysmal experience at this restaurant. My son and I ordered meals in July that not only took around 30 minutes to receive… they were both cold and the fries were soggy. My Sprite tasted like club soda. The drive thru speaker did not work but it was late and we wanted to get to our room in the hotel next door. We went to bed hungry because the meals were too awful to eat. I spoke to the district manager about it who said she would send us a gift card which was never received. I removed my review prematurely because I assumed Steak and Shake stood behind their products and promises. I called them back about this a couple weeks ago and they never responded. This is quite telling that a corporation like this would lie to their customers who receive inferior service and old food. It makes me wonder if they are deceptive in other aspects of their business such as… hygiene and food safety.

Would love to rate a 0, but I’m forced to give a 1 star To begin my family and I came after a school competition around 12:32am we waited over 15 mins to be greeted by our server Haley… She was also wearing the drive thru headsets and kept cutting is off as we ordered to place the drive thru on hold. This was already a distraction and hard to speak without interruption. We finally got our order in Took awhile for drinks to be served, meanwhile other staff is disinterested in team work needed for the Resturant to maintain efficient service and cleanliness Many tables are not bussed and wet floor signs are broken and stretched across the Resturant. At the 1 hour marker we have hit our limit for a proper wait. No refills on drinks… No service, We ask another waitress to help with getting our food delivered Few mins later Haley appears with our food. We touch the fries, COLD!!! How can French fries be cold??? This is the First thing your guest touch. After waiting an hour I have expectations for my food to be Hot. This was not one plate of food this was 4 orders of full dinners Cold. I tell our server fries are cold, she storms off and throws her black server tray at the back side of the booth as she’s walking into the prep area Shouting pretty foul words… Mind you, there are other patrons in the Resturant and a table of 3 young girl sitting close to where she tossed her tray. If this would have rebound your customers would have been hit by this tray. Not only was this a NONSENSE disruption over a simple fix but I’m now writing a review on the poor service and rudeness of our server Haley. She has been named in my review for a reason. No customer should ever have to deal with such poor attitudes and worry about safety. Dear management please address your staff this is not what you need. You are now a liability.

My parents have been there twice and have noted that the air conditioning was set in the 50s. It needs serious attention if it’s been broken on two separate occasions, as it was on the 2nd occasion(explained by an employee). My mom has said she can’t go back because it was THAT cold.

Long wait till n drive thru and when we paid the girl dropped a penny that we handed her then just stood there with her hand out until we hit her another penny. Really? Wouldn’t recommend because of wait and employee.

Worst Steak and Shake we have ever been to. Wait time was ridiculous. Waitress never refilled our drinks or checked on us in any way. Ordered chicken fingers to before we left and that took an addional 20 minutes!

I’m sure this place gets the brunt of a lot of mad patrons as they exit the battleground that is I-71 for a tired bite to eat. For us this is a great stop on the Columbus to Cleveland trek. The staff has always been very nice and the food is overall great! I will say this last time we stopped in when the place was packed… it was like they forgot about us. Finally someone else came with our food. Probably just a bad combo, of the dinner rush and being sat in the furthest corner in the joint. Food was still good!

I tried to use a coupon that I had for a free caramel apple or s’mores milkshake this weekend, and needless to say I will not be coming back. The person in the drive thru asked for us to repeat our order 3 or 4 times. She then proceeded to tell us that they no longer had these milkshake flavors, as they are seasonal(although the coupon is valid through 11⁄30)! I asked her if I could substitute a chocolate milkshake instead, since I wanted to use the coupon. She told me that I could purchase a half price milkshake since it was their Half Price Happy Hour. I told her that I didn’t want a half price milkshake because I had a coupon for a free one. I ended up leaving without purchasing anything.

This restaurant was one of the least friends and least accommodating places I have ever visited. I purchased gift cards for the holiday season and they gave me a coupon for a free Carmel Apple or s’mores shake. I asked for the snores milkshake and the drive thru attendant said they didn’t have it even though it was good through 11÷30÷14. I asked if they would substitute for another milkshake and she said no, but it was happy hour and it would be half price. That defeated the purpose of having the coupon but the worked couldn’t get that point. After arguing for a couple of minutes we drove away. We then went to another location and they honored the coupon.

I went to the Steak and Shake website to comment on this experience. They wrote back that someone would contact me regarding the visit. They never did. I wrote to them a second time to let them know that nobody ever contacted me, and have still yet to hear from them.

Usually when I come here, I get great food and horrid service. But Carrie is the best server ever!!! She takes great care of you and always is timely! If you ever want great food AND great service from Steak and Shake, ask for Carrie!!!

I stayed at the La Quinta Inn across the street. I was driving from NY to WA, and this was my first stop. Since I spent most of my time on the coasts, I hadn’t had the luxury of experiencing much SnS. I figured this was a great time to check them out. I ordered a Wisconsin Buttery burger, Cheese and Bacon fries and a Banana Milkshake. The burger was incredible. I’d eat way too many of them if I lived near a SnS. The bun had a little crisp on the bottom when you bit through, but was still remarkably soft. Also, the burger wasn’t dry at all, which was something I was concerned about since there weren’t any real condiments on the sandwich. Don’t fear that. Embrace it. It allows you to truly experience the rich flavors within this glorious treat. The banana milkshake was also tasty. It wasn’t anything to write home about though. I enjoyed it, but I’d probably only give it a 3.5÷5 by itself. I returned to SnS before I left the following day. I ordered a different milkshake, another Wisconsin Buttery, but skipped the fries this time. I’m not sure how fries+cheese+bacon=something worse than each individual part, but it did here. Don’t get the fries. They’re a 1.5÷5−2÷5. I can’t recommend the Wisconsin Buttery burger enough. It’s a top 5 burger from fast food places, and I know my fast food burgers.
