Wing Stop

Do not purchase gift cards from the Merced Wing Stop. Even if purchased directly from their store, they have issues honoring them. The Manager said my gift card did not work but charged it for the full price anyway and charged me cash. Owner refused to even hear the situation out even when receipts were provided to him and accused me of trying to get a free meal. So rude, so disgusting, so unprofessional, we will never eat there again. So sad for Merced.

This is a fun little place for a great variety of chicken wings. Choice of either classic bone-​in wings or boneless, and choice of flavor, dip and heat. We chose the boneless wings with the ‘original hot’ which is akin to Buffalo style, with blue cheese dip. Everything is cooked to order, so it takes a little bit of time to get the food. The napkins (which are needed with wings) is a roll of paper towels by the drink machine. There are no trash cans, so trays are left of the tables. The dining area is small, so we had to wait a while for someone to clean the table.

Order online in advance, select «Now I’m Starving’ It does take about 15 minutes for an order to be ready. The guys like to head out there for lunch once in a while. The service has been consistent. They have one of those neat Coca-​Cola machines which as 200 something flavors.
The variety of wing flavors are OK. The wings could be meatier but it does the trick. I usually order the 10pc and a drink. Probably cheaper to get the combo.

First, let me preface by saying that I’ve never stepped foot in a Wing Stop before, in fact, I had never been in any «wing» place until I went to a Buffalo Wild Wings in Albuquerque while living there a few years ago. So comparing WS to BWW? WS is a dump! At least this location. I guess it’s not really fair to compare because BWW is more of a sports bar/​restaurant while WS is just a plain, small room with tables. Nothing to it. Service was mediocre. Wings were very plain. We got some version of a hot wing but the sauce is baked in so it comes out dry. You do get a cup of sauce to pour on yourself. That helped but it was still just a basic wing. We also got fries but they got cold half way through. Coleslaw was OK. Soda machine was out of ice. Someone had to come from the back with two buckets of ice to pour in. He did this approx six times. Now, normally, most people would probably say they’d never go back for these reasons. I’m not saying that. I actually wouldn’t mind going back to give it another try, sampling other flavors of wings, especially since they’re rolling out Mango Habanero on Monday (they gave us a free sample). The Mango Habanero wasn’t bad, I still think I like BWW better, but it wasn’t bad. Needed a little more heat for me. The one thing that really got to me was that this place was filthy!!! EVERY empty table was filled with trash! The floor had crap all over it. I don’t know if they were short handed or what but the place only had a few tables filled. If you come here, you’re going to have to like the food and put up with the rest. It’s not an enjoyable place to eat. It might be best to take to go. I will say the women up front were very nice.

They are great wings but you will wait and wait and wait. Went in when there was one person ahead of us and waited 40 mins. A flood came after and they forgot about us. I heard excuses about fries but saw tons go out then about new wings being fried as more orderes went out. Ended up waiting 40 mins for a 15pc order. I really wanted to loe the place since I love wings.

I ordered online the lemon pepper flavored chicken and it was amazaballs! Service was fast and order was ready when I arrived. Yum!

Call Wayyy in advance! This place is slammed! Wings are amazing but service staff could use a lil work… especially when its busy… we waited an extra 30 min for a order we had called in in advance and at no point did the staff ever say they were sorry for the wait…
