The pizza did not taste good the day we went. It smelled really good but it was greasy and did not have much flavor.

We were staying in Manzanita at an AirBnB. On our last night, the day before Thanksgiving, we decided to get take out Pizza. Marzano’s got the call. The pizza itself was good. The service friendly and our pizza was ready for pick up when they said it would be. We probably would have given this four stars but for the price($ 32 for a large pizza is a bit on the stiff side) and because the pizza itself was good but not out of this world. We’ll probably go back if we find ourselves in Manzanita again next year and in the mood for take out. Price is really the only sticking point.

This place is Bring Your Own Ranch. Pizza is like OK but the housemate ranch has room for improvement. Service was great but yo, pizza isn’t that dope.

Great pizza if a little on the pricy side. Crust was thin and cooked perfect. The Italian sausage was made in house and very good Pizzas were large 18″. I would definitely return! They were doing a booming take out business for a Monday night.

Pizza is good but… The service and attitude is awful. We have been going for years and they have always had an air of «its a privilege for you to be able to eat our pizza». This time it was so bad I had to call them out on Unilocal. It started when I called to see how long the wait was(Thursday night). The woman told me that she couldn’t tell me and they don’t take reservations or put names on the wait list over the phone. It was like I was talking to the Great Marzano himself! When I did show up I was told to check back in 25 – 35 minutes and they would either grace me with a table or tell me how much longer I had to grovel. I asked if I could leave my cell number so that we could go have a drink somewhere that actually wanted our business while we were waiting. I was told they don’t do that because they have to keep the lines open for take out orders. Give me a break; like your time is more valuable than mine! Our lousy experience was capped off when, right after our pizza was delivered the server told us it was last call for drinks(even though it was a half hour before they closed). They couldn’t wait to get rid of us. Note to owner: it is your privilege to earn my business not my privilege to eat at your establishment. You could learn something from the more service oriented places at the beach like Blackbird or Rising Star Café. While the pizza is good, next time I will order take out so that I don’t have to endure such pompous service. Bubba C

Great pizza. Small dining area. We got the last table and many had to wait or get their pizza to go. Lots of gourmet choices.

Enjoyed the hand-tossed crust overall. Good consistency, though not over-the-top«delicious” – good platform/could have more flavor. Smoked Prosciutto Ham pizza was my favorite over the combo. Granny loved her create your own veggie with both red and garlic oil sauces. Prices increased between 10−25% over the June 2014 menu in our house. Overall, we’d order again.

Really good pizza and a great Caesar Salad. The prosciutto pizza was delicious as was the Greek. The kids enjoyed the cheese pizza with sausage. If you like a Caesar with a bite this is a good one. Tables would be tough to get on a busy weekend night but we got in pretty quickly on a Sunday evening and the service was very good.

This place is amazing! Every time we vacation in Manzanita we simply cannot wait to get to Marzano’s! The pizza is so delicious! We love it, the kids love it… and that doesn’t happen often. Great flavor to the pizza, and even though I’m typically not a fan of thin crust pizza… I LOVE this place! Definitely a must when in Manzanita! =oD

Not good… pizza is so-o, and not a variety of selection beyond pizza. Manzanita needs a competitor to force a step up.

It was Valentine’s weekend and we were staying at the beach. Lots of people around as it was gorgeous outside. Since pizza is my favorite food, I had Marzano’s on my list for one of our nights. We arrived just after Sunset and the place was packed, a few parties in front of us. A younger gentleman promptly greeted us, put us on the list, 45min wait(no problem, we’re not going anywhere). The other parties got seated pretty quickly so we were next. He graciously asked us if he could get us anything to drink(two waters please, thanks!). While we were waiting we enjoyed observing their staff; mostly all younger(high school/college), but everyone was busting their butts and our greeter even complimented their busser on a great job – nice to have seen. We were seated in about 30min vs the 45min estimated. Cute little booth for 2. Everyone’s pizza and salads looked very tasty. So we had the large Caesar salad(it’s HUGE, and we’re 2 healthy eaters for our stature) and IIRC the Spicy Italian pizza. WOWWOWWOW; Caesar dressing was a perfect amount of garlicky goodness. Pizza was splendid – not even overly greasy like so many other high end pizza joints. Their own ranch dressing on the side is gobbly good. And I love the pizza racks at each table – great touch for any real pizza place. We’ll definitely be stopping here once again the next time we’re at the beach!

Marzano’s is, hands down, some of the best pizza on the northern Oregon coast. Period. Now, with that out of the way, if Marzanos was in a big city, they might get a four, possibly even a three for the long waits in the summer. But they aren’t in a big city, they are just steps from the ocean in one of the most magical little beach towns in Oregon; Manzanita. To be honest, this place is perfect. The waitstaff is incredibly nice. They have gluten-free pizza & beer for those of you with allergy/diet restrictions. They sell delicious local(Astoria) micro brew beer on tap and wine.(No full bar) The salads are HUGE and really really good. Then, there is the pizza. Is it perfect? No. Is it just about the best compromise to please probably 95% of the people who walk through the door? Absolutely. The crust is reasonably thin without being NYC pizza thin. The flavor of the crust is tasty. The flavor of the sauce will vary depending on which pie you get, but the ones I’ve had have always been very tasty. My VERY picky daughter ordered her favorite(Hawaiian) and said that it was REALLY good. My son’s GF Smoked Prosciutto Ham was super delish, and my traditional combo was spot-on. I’ve been coming to this place since before it was Marzano’s and they’ve never let me down. THE perfect beach pizza joint.

i’d like to think of us as pizza connoisseurs. we grew up eating ny pizza in the tri-state area, but ny was not relegated to just neopolitan style, we have sicilians and greek pizzas, we’ve had chicago deep dish at gino’s and giardanos. marzano’s though reminded us of a greek pizza joint we had in queens called famous signas in their taste and crust, which was a good a thing. we were all set to have mexican cause there weren’t too many choices open but when we walked in there was nothing wowing us. you don’t need to walk in marzano to wow one of your senses. when we checked in to our room around dinner time all i could smell anywhere we were at(beach, main st.) was garlic and tomato sauce. marazanos is an amazing pizza joint in the most unlikely place. great sauce not too tangy or too sweet, very gooey moozarel with a crispy crust. also too many times people like to overload their pizza thinking its better but great pizza can stand on its own. we ordered half mushroom which was good but their cheese was just pizzatastic. absolutely killer pizza in manzanita oregon of all places. to oregons defense we saw a lot of pizza places during the drive back to portland, we even compared it to the amount of teriyaki places in seattle.

A friend and I decided to bypass touristy Cannon Beach and hit Manzanita solely because we wanted PIZZA and this place came up on our search for nearby lunch spots. We arrived at 2:30 and discovered they don’t open till 4. Uhhhggg. Ok, we’ll hit the beach first and eat later. We arrive at 4 on the dot, and are greeted by a somewhat unenthused hostess, who turns out to be our server. She was a little brisk, but mostly efficient. We decide to order a caesar salad and a pizza: half hawaiian, half smoked prosciutto. Salad comes out quickly. It’s large, mildly garlicky, and not too mayonnaisey. Ok! It does come with some lukewarm excuse for garlic bread instead of croutons. As my companion pointed out, it was a lot of salad for no croutons. I wish they would have brought a few lemon wedges, and we did add pepper to help perk it up a bit, but it was decent. Pizza arrives. The waitress asks us to pull out the pizza stand from against the wall. No biggie, but couldn’t she have done that when clearing our salad plates? I mean, just try anticipating your customers’ needs a little, please. Anyway. Pizza. Yum. The hawaiian was perfection. So good. Crispy — but not too hard — crust. Perfect sauce to cheese to topping ratio. Yum yum yum. The smoked prosciutto was good, on the richer side, and a little underwhelming. We decided it needed a contrasting texture, as all the toppings were a bit mushy, including the potatoes. The prosciutto was in a single layer and so thin it was almost imperceptible. I mean, would it kill you to layer it up a little? The garlic olive oil sauce was again very mild, almost with just a hint of garlic. It could have been a great pizza with a little more tinkering to the recipe, but we ate it happily, as it wasn’t bad, and we were really hungry. It didn’t take long for the check to arrive, but it did take a while to get the left over pizza wrapped once the bill was paid. Odd. Overall this is a good place for DINNER, and the pizza is solid. I think sticking to the basic, classic options is probably going to yield the most satisfying results for your taste buds. Expect lukewarm service.

A damn decent pizza. I’ve had better, but I like this place. Especially because they have anchovies and microbrew beer. It’s thin crust, and I didn’t try the gluten free crust, but I certainly appreciate that they have it. Apps here was casual and comfortable. Service was good. I’d visit again

Arrive at campsite and set up camp. Check. Go to local market, buy organic chicken, corn on the cob and salad for dinner. Check. Drive back to camp to make dinner. Che… whoa, wait. What’s that delicious smell? Park the car and go to Marzano’s Pizza. Order the #7 and a pint of Quick Wit Belgian Ale from Astoria. Check! I wish I could say the change of plans was worth it. While I liked the décor of the place, and our server was very sweet, the pizza took quite a bit longer than expected. We had time to browse all the previous Unilocal reviews and I was sure I’d be one of the 5-star reviewers. The pizza looked beautiful and was very hot. The crust was thin too, which I like, but for some reason the pizza was not very flavorful. The sausage was yummy and so were the red onions, but overall it didn’t taste like much. We added peppers and cheese and it was pretty tasty. The sauce and cheese were light but that isn’t usually a problem for me. My boyfriend and I have made brick-oven pizza and it only needs cooked for about 90 seconds when the oven is at its prime temperature. We speculated that they’d cooked it too long and killed the flavor, but we don’t know. But overall, we enjoyed the experience and were starving so we easily polished off a medium. I’d probably give it another shot.
