Great location, venue, menu, service and ambiance. It’s laid back and easy. I thought my cod fish and chips had good flavor and might have been a bit dry, were actually perfect with lemon and tartar sauce. That means a lot from a girl from Alaska.

We popped in and out of quite a few places in Manzanita and this one was definitely the best. We were seated promptly, there was a great selection, decent prices, excellent ambiance, and the waitresses were patient and friendly. This will definitely be our stop when in the area!

Best staff on the coast and great beer selection! Very comfortable surroundings. They have great live music on the weekends and will put about any gsme you want on the TV.

Great food! Keep in mind a few things(destination, time of year, busyness, etc). We ordered cocktails. My husband ordered a second but two arrived. We ordered one fish and chips(server knew we are/were contemplating the pizza place). Two fish and chips came with the side of coleslaw(which YOU must order-clearly HOUSE made). So be clear on how many of what you want. Food is awesome but they need the sale(lack of visitors).

Great place, just a few blocks from beach. Read my check in comments. Burger, tator tots(small is really big for 1 person). Had a chezch Pilsner which was a nice change from Stella. Burger could have been a little larger in order to have it cooked to medium but still good. Bread was perfect and held up to the normal accompanists but add bacon & jalapeño and it was perfect. Service was nice and accommodating. It was not that full. It could be pretty crazy when really full. Either way, I would come again happily!

Pretty comfortable place, nice patio. Seems like the local regulars rule the place. Their menu selection is fairly average, and their drinks are basic. I would normally give 4 stars for the above, but their service is pretty inattentive. I think that they try to get by on as few staff as possible, and hope we don’t notice. Sorry guys, your slip is showing. I’ll be back, fingers crossed that you’ve upped your number of staff on shift, and that service improves to match your ambiance and food offerings.

Yes is is a tourist town. Yes the waitstaff was rude and wouldn’t even acknowledge us until we managed to find 2 stools at the bar, after paying a cover, then we were told that there were people out smoking who had the stools and we would have to move it… Our service was a slap in the face and we were sitting next to this poster that they proudly displayed«Bartender Rules» 1 – 10 said how you were going to get terrible service but 11 – 14 said you better tip, be patient and shut up and take it… On top of the worst service ever their food sucked… Fish tacos… How can you screw up fish tacos… Overcooked and tasteless… Signature Cheeseburger… Way over cooked, worse than McDonalds… Want rude, terrible service with subpar food, try the San Dune Pub in Manzanita! Check out their poster of what you are going to get…,

Shared oyster po’boy and bacon blue cheeseburger… both excellent. Willapa Bay oysters, not too heavy on the sauce. Thick just-right– crisp bacon, tangy blue cheese, tasty not fatty burger, done to perfection. Accompanied by local hoppy IPAs.

Must have been an off day. Very brusk yet attentive service. I live in a resort town. I understand how exhaustive tourist after tourist can be. I’m very sympathetic. However if being asked what’s on tap is too annoying of a question maybe you should take a day off and re-center.

Best Tavern on the coast! We’ve been coming in for 14 years and it’s always good. Great burgers, tots, and bloody Mary’s!!! Tamara and Laurie are great bartenders. They have great TVs and bands in all the time.

I do believe that one of the best things I ever ate in my entire life is the Oyster Bacon Blue Cheese Wrap here at the San Dune. I have probably had three of these this summer and will probably fit one more in before summer ends ;) This place is definitely one of the hot spots of Manzanita. Live music, good fresh seafood, good selection of craft beer, etc. This is a MUSTVISITZONE ;) HOWEVER!!! If you want one of these delicious treats, get there before their bar menu kicks in… before 9pm. I made the mistake of driving to hear a friend performing in their band in hopes of getting this for dinner, but instead, was offered fries, wings, tots, etc. At night, the wait staff seems to check out and not remember to check in at the tables. If you want a drink or bar food, be SURE to go to the bar and order… otherwise, Deuces ;) I ended up leaving early with NOSERVICE after being delivered a late night menu :(Whatevs :) Still, a great spot in Manzanita. Definitely one to check off your list :) and repeat the visit

Love this place. We have a family cabin in Manzanita, but had never eaten at the Sandune until last weekend. The oyster po’ boy(about $ 12) is delicious, as is the oyster plate($ 17) and the fish tacos. Yummy sweet potato fries. Lots of $ 5 pint beer selections. Huge pitchers for $ 18. Full bar. Cute atmosphere inside, looks like a beach bar out of a Gidget movie. They also have a great patio out back. They allow three dogs per table, which is awesome. Live music. Not sure of schedule. The servers were really friendly and I liked that they all helped each other. Great teamwork. The only one who was unfriendly was the blonde hostess at the front door. We ate there 2 nights in a row. New Manzanita fave!

Go to Manzanita now before it becomes a Cannon Beach clone! That said, I find many of the Oregon coastal towns always have an establishment like the San Dune Pub, drinks, beer, burgers, fries and other odds and ends. They’re everywhere along the coast, because they work. I had the iceberg Lettuce wedge salad and the portions here were huge, it was practically an entire head of lettuce! The oyster shooters were excellent and a great way to start of dinner. Nothing fancy, solid food and friendly service, keep your expectations in check and you’ll enjoy it here.

Wandered from Cannon Beach to Nehalem on a summer Sunday afternoon looking for food. Ended up at this place with my wife. Place was busy, almost to the point that the staff/kitchen seemed overwhelmed. Server took our order and we asked him how long food was taking, he said 30 – 35 minutes. An hour later, we finally got our food. Fish and chips was great, oyster po’ boy was okay. Food was good, ambience was cool for a bar, service was wicked slow(at least until a manager arrived and turned up the hustle!). I would come back, but would have to be ready to be patient.

I had Shrimp po boy with jalapenos and was VERY happy. Chili cheese fries were really good. Mac & jack beer to help wash it down. Very happy, will be back!

Excellent service, food, pie, and weekend entertainment. Great beer selection, and it’s the oldest full bar in Manzanita. It has a nice, beach bar feel, there are tv’s showing sports and a large patio out back for smokers and those who don’t mind being around smoke. Heck, even Karaōke From Hell performs here a few times a year! Who can refuse a local watering hole such as this?

I’ve had fun at this bar in the past while vacationing with friends but this last weekend when I tried to come in, the doorman was so rude that I turned around and left. with my group of 5 friends. Would have loved to come in and buy a few beers but I can’t support someone who insults me. What a bummer!

Solid American pub, good atmosphere, friendly staff, great outdoor patio(dog friendly), and decent craft beer selection. The fish tacos come as a fried it grilled option(went with grilled naturally) and they were pretty amble and tasty. Good lunchtime or evening spot

Just a relaxed place to pop in after a day at the beach or on the water to get some good food and drinks. The specials are tops(ribs, etc.) but the burgers were amazing. They use top shelf meat and bacon on the bacon cheeseburger. With farm raised burgers for the prices they charge — get one to go! While the burgers were big we ate the whole thing — that includes my 110 lb girlfriend who chowed hers down like a trucker would. Yum! The place may look rough around the edges but the food quality here is superb and prices are very reasonable. Friendly staff. It looks like this place has been here forever.
