Johnny was the best bartender I have ever hade but the dirty nasty musty smell when I walked in made me want to puke. Time to tear down the building and repair this shithole.

Great service but my food was awful. Otdered the steak bites. Even though my friends and I were one of only two tables filled shortly after they opened, the onion rings were cold and the«steak bites» were nothing but gristle and fat.

Went there with some friends after a hockey game tonight. 8 of us on the patio. Many servers passed us without acknowledgment. We had to ask for menus. Ordered some food and drinks and pointed to the Happy Hour menu. Food took quite some time. Received wings that were awful. Tasted like ham. Flatbread pizza was so spicy, our friend couldn’t eat it. The steak bites were made with canned mushrooms and just plain odd. The kids fries were cold and hard. Received our bill and asked about Happy Hour prices. Apparently the drinks we pointed to and ordered off the Happy Hour menu weren’t on the HH menu. The server didn’t know this. It’s too bad the food and service have been going down hill the past few times we have been there. We used to enjoy going there. Don’t think we will go back.

My husband and I go all the time and we’ve never had a bad meal. Usually a few good craft brews on tap, one or two being Surly most of the time. Happy hour prices are great. I highly recommend their stuffed mushroom caps. They are huge and definitely big enough to be a meal.

We have been going there for decades and always enjoy the food and atmosphere! Great bands and never a cover. Gigantic patio with a great view of Maple Grove. A hidden gem in Maple Grove.

Great place for drinks and BBQ. Really impressed with the food. Some of the best BBQ we have had. Laid back place where you can kickback and relax. Great service.

Great spot. Owner almost always stops by to make sure we had a good experience. Love The Lookout!

Great burgers! Outstanding ribs. Locally owned spot, perfect for summer patio season. I’ve recommended it to people with families or just people looking for a decent happy hour. It’s hard to go wrong. If you like sterile chain restaurants, this won’t be your jam. Cheers!

Ordered the Crimson burger and waffle fries and really enjoyed them. Nothing too special, but very good. Also tried the ribs which were delicious! Service was good and food overall was good. Corn on the cob was cold and chewy. Beans were ok. But overall, good experience

Maple Grove is awful. My family suggested we go to the Lookout and I immediately assumed it was going to be some horrible chain restaurant with watered down drinks and a bunch of Range Rovers in the parking lot. To my pleasant surprise, the Lookout is kind of dive-y and not a chain(which is the only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1)! However, that’s where the charm ends. There are very few times in my life I’d rather eat at an Olive Garden, but going to the Lookout was one of those times. The menu is your regular«American» fare. We were shocked to see a salad made with iceberg lettuce and bacon bits for $ 10. Who would pay $ 10 for that when you could make it better at home for $ 0.75?! The food took FOREVER which is shocking because I’m fairly certain they just microwaved a bunch of frozen food. My mom got the fried chicken they’re known for and thought it was okay. My sister got a pulled pork sandwich. She could barely touch it. The waffle fries were a semi-frozen pile of mush, and it came with a side of baked beans. Or at least we thought it was baked beans, she was too skeptical to eat them. I ordered the garlic chicken flatbread. Honestly, I’ve made bagel pizzas better. The best word to describe it is «flaccid.» So bad. My sister and I left hungry and made ramen when we got home, which was more flavorful than anything we ate there.

Although I have been to the lookout many times in the past to drink, I have never went for the food. When I saw a groupon offer I thought I’d give it a shot. Pretty disappointing. The chicken they are famous for was terrible. The fries were very cold when we got them. My husband’s burger was small and just okay, and the chips were a step below lays – not even seasoned. The value for the groupon with the tall beers was decent, though, and the service wasn’t bad. I just know for the future to eat first and come here to drink after, since I do like the location and atmosphere.

One of those in-the-middle-of-nowhere-hole-in-the-wall type place(probably because land was cheap at the time or something). Nothing short of an Applebee’s or something. Nothing pops off the menu, they’ve got your typical burgers, waffle fries & fish(cod cause cod is cheap). Wine list is limited & the Bloody Mary is absolutely grotesque no matter which bartender makes it. The place needs to audition for a spot on Food Network’s Restaurant Impossible for an EXTREME makeover. The stage looks like old school movie theater carpeting, the ceiling tiles are gross with lint & discoloration on them, the decór is beyond tacky for this day & age & the seating arrangement is just disorganized. There’s really no theme to the decoration. Just looks like they plastered random stuff they found from a yard sale. The play area in the back of the restaurant is also tacky. Personally I don’t think it’s a great idea, what if someone’s kid gets hurt? There’s really no supervision. The place is after all, a bar & grill. So mom & dad can drink while little Bobby plays on the ridiculously old playground unsupervised? There are two firemen working there, if the Fire Marshall saw that The Lookout allows high chairs at the ends of booths, they’d be shut down-that’s a fire hazard. I’ve worked in many restaurants before. That corner where the free popcorn is? Check out the soot covered ceiling, that popcorn machine practically touches the ceiling & the smoke emitted from it could very well catch the ceiling on fire one day. The fact that the workers(servers, cooks, bartenders, hosts) ARENOT&HAVENOT taken an OSHA regulated test for food safety & sanitation is I’m pretty sure, a no no In the food industry. Ambiance is crazy, it’s basically cougar town. The music is horrid & since there’s no cushion, the live bands just sound like screamo & you’ve got a bunch of senior citizens juking one another. On the weekends the bathroom always seems to lack needed attention & often times the servers seem clueless(running around like chickens with their heads cut off)-which some of it is the clueless host(ess) who ends up triple seating a weak server. And that idiotic moto of theirs? «I like pig butts and I cannot lie.» Wait… isn’t the Lookout supposed to be famous for their broasted wings? Lol Aside from the tacky-ness of the restaurant, the broasted chicken is the only thing I’d recommend. Not only is it unique but it is fairly good. If Unilocal let me, I’d pick no stars.

The burgers are good but the service is horrible. We’ve been here twice and both times we had to wait a long time for the server to come to our table after being seated. The last time I had to go to the bar and ask for a waiter because we’d been sitting there for a while and the waiter had walked past us several times. We ordered appetizers both times and it took a long time to get the appetizers. They gave us about 2 minutes to eat the appetizer before bringing out our burgers. We’ve had nachos and wings and both were bad. If you decide to go here expect to have slow service and don’t order anything besides a burger or sandwich.

I live a few blocks from The Lookout and I’ve been dodging the place since I moved here(5 years ago). I never stopped in before, because the place is, well… dumpy on the outside. But don’t worry my friends, you’ll forget about the dumpiness on the outside when you enter the restaurant and realize it’s much dumpier on the inside. It wasn’t really dirty though, it was just dilapidated. However, the staff was friendly and the food was of average quality and fairly priced(I had a decent hamburger and my wife was happy with her chicken salad). We skipped the lunch buffet. Although the food was fresh, it didn’t look very appetizing. Plus, the buffet was over-run with cops. As soon as the cook dumped more broasted chicken and potatoes in the buffet bins, there were 8 – 10 ravenous deputies swarming all over it. We’ll give this place another chance and probably go for dinner and some live music next time.

The broasted chicken is very good. Additionally the burgers are usually pretty good. There is a soup and salad bar. Generally the soups are home made and are a mixed bag. Some pretty good and others seem to be over salted doctored up industrial grade soup. The salad bar is bagged iceberg lettuce with purple cabbage variety and the fixins are typical fair. Many of the other items are hit and miss. Although the food is ok I love the place due to the staff and service. For my wife and I the service has always been great.

I have only come here for the lunch buffet and happy hour. The best thing I have had here was their 50 year(I think it was 50?) anniversary beer that was brewed especially for them by Leinenkugel. That beer was delicious and I will rarely say that about a beer. The food is as others have said, average. I like the buffet because they have a little bit of selection and the desserts are pretty good. I have never had a problem with the service here and I have been here probably close to a dozen times.

We went there for dinner tonight(Wednesday). The place is situated in the middle of residential area, and is kinda up in the hill. It’s kinda cool because you can see all the lights around Arbor Lakes from the parking lot. We got there around six. The dining area was about ¼ full, but the bar area was already semi-crowded. I bet this place is super busy at night especially Fri and Sat night. They also have big screen TVs, a little stage, and an empty area for dancing(i think?) in front of the stage. Our server was nice and attentive. I thought the food was ok, but my bf thought it was above average. I ordered the lookout’s famous broasted chicken. My chicken came with small slaw, dinner roll, and I chose onion rings as a side. I didnt know what broasted chicken is, but it was voted best broasted chicken, so it got to be good. lol. Well, it turned out to be crispy fried chicken. It was hot, crispy on the outside, and moist and juicy on the inside. The onion rings were also nice and crispy. They could have been from frozen, but they tasted alright anyway. My bf got Italian beef dip with house tots for the side. The sandwich was big. My bf liked it, but I thought it was a bit on a salty side. The house tots were nice accompaniment as well.

Very spacious place indoor and outdoor with outdoor seating in the back next to the volleyball courts. Outside has play area for kids, volleyball courts and a little made stream even! Asked our server what was good and she said any sandwich or burger. Guess what… bacon cheeseburger! Most burgers are ½ lb burgers, there was one 1⁄3 lb burger on the menu. Buns are onion and nice and fluffy, the burgers looked preformed and had ok flavor. The tots were done to perfection, with a light crisp. Salad bar looked good and also had a food bar with soft serve ice cream. This looks like a very fun local hangout and I would try a sandwich next time I come through.
