Decided spontaneously to come in for a late lunch/early dinner yesterday prompted by my oldest son asking where that good smell was coming from. Now to give you some insight, he is pretty picky when it comes to food so when he thinks something smells good, you capitalize! First time to Mongo’s been awhile since I’ve been to a Mongolian type restaurant. Always wanted to try but never had a chance to yet. So happy we decided to do a last minute dine in. Restaurant wasn’t crazy busy for 4pm so were seated right away, server came by and explained the process since we were newbies. You have the option to do one bowl or add on extras like the soup and salad bar or make it an unlimited bowl. Kids are cheaper and are automatically upgraded to unlimited. We also had one of my 3 year olds with us and he was free. So many different options, above each station it does let you know different dishes like the Seafood mongo and what items you need to put into your bowl to make that. Once you choose your proteins, veggies and noodles(optional), you go to the sauce station and pile on the sauce! So many different kinds ranging from mild flavored to hot and spicy. You can choose one or variety of sauces, no limit, it’s your preference. At the end, you need to add your oil and spices. You give your bowl to the cooks in the middle at the grill and they will ask you if you want rice, tortilla or eggs on your meal. And that’s all your duties are! you just wait for your bowl to cook and once it is done the chef will hand it to you and enjoy! If you choose the unlimited option you can go up as much as you want, not take home of leftovers with this option, so make sure you eat everything. I decided to try out the shrimp, scallop and calamari and added a variety of veggies with the udon noodles. I like it spicy so I tried the traditional mongo sauce with a lot of hot sauces added to that. I probably could have done with more spice but the noodles were cooked well and everything together was very flavorful and filling. I made my kids’ bowls more simple with just shrimp chicken and the stir fry noodles with soy and teriyaki based sauces, I must say the stir fry noodles I prefer over udon, the noodles reminded me of my mom in law’s stir fry noodles which the kids and I adore! Reasonably priced, for a the four of us(2 adults, one 5 year old and on 3 year old), the bill came out to a little over $ 27 before tip. This was lunch time prices($ 9.99 without unlimited upgrade) and with no drinks or desserts. This is a great option for our family, kids will love it

Very good food and great service. Staff was upbeat and joyful. My first time there and I would definitely recommend! Don’t be scared be the Mongolian name, its buffet style and well worth it!

Amazing food and service. Lunch prices can’t be beat either. We stopped here for a real meal as opposed to rest stop fare we have had on this road trip. We were so happy we did. The bar was clean, the veggies and meats were fresh. The staff was amazing and friendly. They have helpful recipe cards too for those who aren’t so sure what to make, but even if you wing it like I did it still tastes great. It is also prefect for kids, even my picky eater found something to enjoy. Worth every penny. We went in the early afternoon and the place was empty which was nice.

If you like khan’s, you’ll love this place. This place is a lot cleaner and they have a larger variety of choices to put in your bowl before you hand it over. Staff here is very nice and quick. I like that they cut the meat options up into smaller pieces too. Don’t feel like eating noodles? Throw together a salad. They also have soup, which I have not tried yet. You can also get a side of tortillas, and rice options. Don’t like your food? Too bad, you’re the one that put it together.

We love other Mongolian grills, but Mongos is waaaay better. So many options. The children can get pasta or pizza. There is something for everyone. Seafood is higher quality. Real calamari! The flow is much better — not so loud and chaotic as the other Mongolian grills. They have many more sides to choose from and are included in the price. Soup and salad bar. Mongos makes the other Mongolian grills seem boring. The prices are reasonable. Friendly service. We will be back!

Daughter really likes this place and she hates oriental food. She likes to select her food, AKA picky eater. The layout of buffet, grill and lounge with the space they have is perfect. We had alot of fun trying this out.

They charged my credit card wrong. When I called to let them know, they got SUPERINVESTED in correcting the mistake and called me back with updates every fifteen minutes for the next four hours.

If you enjoy Mongolian style food this is a great place to go. Very similar to Hu Hot but with more options and better service in my opinion. The food itself was wonderful and the staff was extremely helpful in helping us figure out how their system worked. I went traditional Mongolian style but you can have everything from pizza wraps to chicken Alfredo pasta here. Definitely will come back soon!

I can’t recommend this place. We did have a really nice server but unfortunately that’s where the good stops. The idea is definitely quantity over quality here when it comes to the ingredients. I’m slightly puzzled by everyone calling this place healthy. Yes you can get a good variety of vegetables but most customers, especially any that follow their suggested recipes, are going to have to end up piling on the noodles & sauces(see pictures) to get some flavor. Another review mentioned pre-seasoned proteins & I think that would be a step in the right direction. I also wasn’t crazy about the atmosphere– right now the place seems to cater to a teenage crowd seeing how high they can stack their plates.

This was sometime ago but we had a nice manager named Troy who flew over and apologized because he felt we didn’t get fast enough service. It was slow but nothing out of hand. He waited on us hand and foot, drinks never got lower then half and he offered to get us a free desert. We were full on the great food and declined it. Always a good time. Clean and friendly.

We were there Saturday Feb 21 for dinner. It was my first visit to the place. The highlights: Decent tap and bottle selection including Surly Furious and Bell’s Two Hearted for $ 4.50 a glass. Flavored lemonades for the kids were only $ 1.49 and the tall glasses of ice water were good. We were there for dinner which costs $ 12.49 for a single bowl, adding soup and salad bar or unlimited trips costs more. Nice assortment of meat including scallops, shrimp and fish options as well as your typical land based options. They have some crazy stuff too which you could be pretty creative with(ham, kielbasa, pepperoni to name a few I recall). You can get tortillas at the griddle so you could make fajitas and such instead of stir fry if you wanted. I liked that they had udon, flat rice(pad thai) and ramen noodle options. Heck they even had rigatoni for the Marco Polo version of Mongolian stir fry. Good assortment of vegetables and sauces make possibilities nearly endless. One mistake I made was not knowing to ask for egg in the fried rice, it was put in my stir fry and I was handed a bowl of fried. In the future I would probably skip the noodles and fried and go with brown rice added to my food. My 10 year old was super impressed with the guys making the food. My wife and I though were disturbed by the tension and seeming harassment of one employee by the others. If the store manager or owner wants to know more message me and I will give details. I take it there may be some good natured ribbing that goes on when you have a bunch of guys working closely, but this stepped over the line and one employee seemed willing to escalate. Not a good look when the grill is surrounded by customers.

Hair in my food. High school«cooks» shtick in the middle of the restaurant gets old after 2 minutes. Last straw was the egg one cook threw that landed in the walkway outside the grill area. Oh, and one of the customers coughed on their hand and then proceeded to pick up quite a few of the communal condiments at the end of the line. It really is a step below an Applebee’s…and that’s saying something.

What’s to say that hasn’t been said? I’ve been to roughly 7 or 8 other Mongolian grills and this is by far the best in my opinion. A couple tips? Fill your sauces to the brim of the bowl, it’s ok if it spills over as you’ve got the plate to put it on and they’ll throw that on the flat top too. Remember, the sauces are not what you buy at the grocery store. They’re heavily watered down(to reduce burning because of the sugars and to add moisture to the stir fry). Also, stack your meat vertically on the sides of the bowl to in a way extend it. This will hold on all your noodles you’re going to load up on far far far and above the brim. Finally, don’t forget the seasonings at the end. If you’re unsure, at minimum you need a spoon or five of curry powder :-). Also have to add the fried rice and egg to the mix. You should also grab a cup of teriyaki sauce or any of the other sauces or toppings at the end of the line after you get your bowl. Remember, leftovers dry out a good bit so a little extra sauce before putting it into the to go containers doesn’t hurt. And unlike khans you actually get to take home your leftovers… which for me makes at least another meal or two. Like I said, favorite Mongolian I’ve had ever.

this place is better than Khan. I always got sick after eating at Khan. This restaurant is nicer, and clean compared to Khan. My hubby and I love this restaurant so much

Been to MANY Mongolian BBQs and this one was my favorite. Impressive selection of proteins including tilapia, scallops, kielbasa, crab, pork, ham, chicken, pepperoni etc!!! More veggies available than others as well, and the staff was very friendly and good at what they did. Nice and clean inside as well. 5 stars!

Meh. not really impressed. My dish ended up tasting ok. The waitress had to spend 5 min showing us around and explaining everything. I just think it was a little over complicated. Then we got in the sauce line and it was so busy. The line to get your food cooked was backed up blocking half the sauces. We’re sitting there trying to not lose our place in line while trying to finish making the dish… it just didn’t flow well in my opinion. I had high hopes for this place, in the end pretty irritating and disappointed. I may give it a try again on a quiet afternoon. Maybe… it wasn’t that spectacular. And honestly pretty over-priced. For 12.99 I expected it to be unlimited bowls.

This is my new favorite restaurant! Great choice for both meat lovers and veggie lovers! I haven’t had the salad bar only the Mongolian and it was enough. Only reason I didn’t rate 5 stars was because the salad bar was very limited and didn’t look that fresh. There are so many food options and sauce creations to make your dish. You can also add in different kinds of rice, noodles and flour tortillas to make it one of a kind. For $ 2.50 more it’s unlimited. Definitely suggest going here — Check the valu pack’s because there are always buy one get one free.

Friday afternoon I got out of work early and the girlfriend thought it’d be a good idea to try here. We drive past it a lot as we go to Nadia’s, Costco and Tru Berry in Maple Grove. Lets start with the salad bar… very limited. You get your caesar and a little lettuce mix to choose from. Freshness? Well, I won’t say it’s the freshest thing, lets just say that. But, the topping additions to the salad bar are decent(in terms of variety). The basics are all there, eggs, bacon bits, carrots, cottage cheese, olives etc. The caesar mixed one was dressing heavy, so be aware of that. The soups over with the salads weren’t too bad. As for the food itself, again, freshness is always in question. But, I wouldn’t say it was overly bad. I went through a few times to sample as much as I could. The sauces were a little blah even with about 7 ladles of it on the food. Overall, not too bad of a place. And the lunch prices make it a decent little outing for not entirely too much. I could see this being a good way to satisfy a lot of different types of appetites.

I have been here a couple of times and both times I wasn’t that impressed. It’s fun and different but all meat and most veggies are frozen and have little to no seasoning. Everyone whose actually been out of the country and eaten authentic stirfry knows the key to good stirfry are fresh ingredients and pre-seasoned proteins. The assortment of sauces are nice, but it’s kind of weird how they have sauces like sweet and sour and just other weird stuff like that that most Mongolions would cringe at… It seems pretty overpriced, 12.99 for one bowl of stirfry. If you don’t know what you’re doing, you might end up paying $$ for a nightmare. Service and speed were otherwise good. It’s basically similar to Huhot, and reminds me of why I want to go back to Asia– you get stirfry 10x more tasty and fresh for about 2 bucks. But alas, this is America and we have to make do. 3⁄5
