Amateur racing? Check. $ 10 admission? Check. Cheap beer? Check. A fantastic time every Friday night? Double check. Let me explain: about an hour away, in a little town called Maple Park, is a clay racing track for racing cars and the demolition derby. That’s right: amateur racing and demo derby! What’s not to love? Anyone can do it. Just as long as you have a car that(I think) is no newer than 1992, bust out all of the windows except for the rear window and windshield, weld the doors shut and decorate it, you’re all set! There’s Powder Puff racing(the girls), Figure 8, Compact Car, Full Size Car and a few other races. And supposedly, if a car gets hit and does a 360, that driver gets a case of Old Style! Where do I get a car?! The details: Every Friday: Spectator Racing. Races start @ 8pm.
