Gleason Cleaners & Launderers

I was a loyal customer of Gleason Cleaners for several years. I will no longer be doing business with them. A dry cleaning drop-​off was scheduled to my home, but never arrived. After several calls and un-​returned voice messages to the company, I was finally able to speak with somebody who alleged the delivery was made — at a time when I would have been home to accept the delivery. The person in charge was extremely rude and dismissive — he showed no concern about the customer and ultimately hung-​up on me while I was in mid-​sentence! I was once proud to support this Maplewood business but am appalled to have been treated so poorly. There have been other service mishaps over the years, but have always been forgiving.
UPDATE: Weeks after this incident, I received a call from the cleaners with a mea culpa. They acknowledged the error and took responsibility. Although it took 4 weeks, they were able to locate the delivery. Ultimately, they did the right thing and also credited my account. It’s hard to assign a star-​rating to this situation but this had a somewhat happy ending.

Gleason Cleaners in Maplewood, NJ is outstanding! My entire family has been coming here for over 15 years. They are experts at Dry Cleaning! I have never had any issue what so ever. Gleason Cleaners make your clothes seem like they are brand new again. They are masterful with white clothes and ornate embellished clothing. When they clean my dressy special occasion dress suits they cover all the ornate buttons. The price is well worth the service! There are more than 12 different cleaners in between where I live and Gleason’s location. I gladly pass all of those poor performing cleaners to arrive to Gleasons where I know exactly what I am getting every time… DRY CLEAN PERFECTION!!!

By far the absolute best dry cleaners and alterations in the area. Their boxed shirts are the best I’ve found from across the country. Their staff are friendly and warm. They’ll cut you a break on big orders. They never got an order wrong in over 8 years. I wish they’d relocate to San Francisco with us. I’d go to them for another 8 years… and more.

Gleason has become our go-​to dry cleaners, after a recommendation from neighbors when we moved to the area.
This is a legit dry cleaning factory type place. There’s ample parking, convenient hours (including saturdays), and the service is great. The prices are competitive for the area, and they have done a great job with my and my husband’s work clothes.
We’ve tried some of the places near downtown South Orange, but Gleason is much better.
