The Home Depot

Wow what service! I bought some paint in July because of a rebate deal. 2 days ago I got a postcard from the paint mfg. that some info I had sent in was not correct and that I had 2 days to get a corrected rebate form mailed to them! The postcard did not even state what my form lacked!
I went into the store MAD. The return man called a young blonde woman (the receipt said Terry but that may have the mans name), a staff person, over. She took care of the problem right there! I am 70 and have delt with a lot of retail people and some can handle problems and some take a complaint personalty. This lady heard the problem, understood the problem, and resolved the problem. WOW. She will go a long way in life and in business. They have my business from now on for hiring people like that.

All your standard items but BE-​AWARE! Apparently, THIS SPECIFIC Home Depot is a «contractor» store. We bought a piece of equipment and ended up visiting 4 other HD stores in search of accessories for it at a later time, only to find out we needed to return to THAT store! What?! Ugh. Well, at least we found someone in one of the other stores that knew that information. We are down about 2 hours of driving and searching but oh well. Now we know and hopefully you do too!
I actually would prefer to visit this store because it is larger, cleaner, well stocked and has a better selection than any other HD in the area. But, having to pass by 3 others on my way to get to this one, not including all the other types of hardware stores, this is a little low on my list. If you ARE looking for heavier equipment though, this is your place! They also have quite a few knowledgable department helpers on the weekends to help you sort out what you really need which is very useful.

Always a good experience here. Knowledgable employees and willing to take time to help you out.
You pay around 10% more here than Menards, but the quality is so much better and you can find what you are looking for in under 30 minuites. Double bonus.

Chain review disclaimer: I won’t do ‘em. You can’t make me. Well, ok. Yes, you can. But not easily. I’ve sworn off chain reviews because chains are supposed to be the same wherever you go. That’s the beauty of a chain. So I’ll only do a review if there is something out of the norm for a chain, or the particular location. This will happen if there is something unique, if they are extraordinarily good, or extraordinarily bad.
Home Depot sells home improvement supplies. Yeah, I know. Big deal.
The reason I’m writing a review about them is because they have a free kid’s workshop on the first Saturday of every month. They give you a kit with pieces of wood cut to shape and several nails and/​or screws that you can build right in the store. They have an area with hammers, screwdrivers, and glue for you to spend a few minutes with your kid putting together the kit. (They can do it. You can help.) They even give the kids a Home Depot apron with their name on it, and a pin when their finished with their project.
The kits vary from month to month. You can build things like planters, stools, birdhouses, and cars. One month they had a storage box that looked like a castle. That one was really cool.
We go almost every month and Frank, the guy in charge of the workshop at this particular store, is a really nice guy. The previous lady in charge even knew my kids’ names, but she retired about a year ago.
The workshop has become so popular at this location, they do it again on the 3^rd Saturday of every month. Most stores only do it on the first Saturday.
This kind of thing seems insignificant, but for a large company to essentially donate time and money to give you quality time with your child is a wonderful thing. The smiles on the kids’ faces when they finish their project is priceless. I think it’s paid off for the company because I definitely think of them first when I need something for a home project. I’m sure I’m not the only one.
