My family of 6 went parasailing and had a blast. Our captain, George, was quick with good and bad jokes –but either, that he told, were all in good fun! And kept the ride entertaining. Let’s face it once people are up in the air it’s kinda boring waiting your turn. Sean, his helper, was also extremely nice and accommodating. And neither of them batted an eyelash when my 9 year old got seasick and purged the contents of his stomach on the boat.(Sorry about that guys). I highly recommend Sundance Watersports.

The guides are totally disrespectful of the local residents. The Segway guides break the local laws and endanger their clients safety and the safety of the local residents The paddle boarders are not informed of Maritime laws and therefore endangering their lives and the safety of local boaters. The jet ski guides are just like the Segway guides, disrespectful of local law and the local environment, cannot see a tarpon or a snook where they run their machines. The parasail guides seem competent except they do not understand no wake zones, they like to impress their clients with sharp turns in the marina Tried to talk to the owner of the company, but not open to discussion Blue is cool, very respectful of the safety of their passengers and the safety of the local community

Went on a WaveRunner tour which lasted about an hour. Went to see a sunken car and ship. Got to cruise at 40mph then the guide let us loose for about 10mins and this is where you squeeeeeeze and see your speed get to 60’s. Wooohooo! Well, that’s when the kiddo with you starts screaming«slow down! slow down!»

Sundance Watersports operates at the Hawks Cay Resort Marina. They rent boats and provide watersports equipment and training classes, including para-sailing, jet skis and wake-boarding. We came for the snorkeling off their large catamaran, called«Blue». It was a big, roomy boat holding around 50 people. Even though I am not prone to seasickness, I was happy for the two big hulls — it made for a pretty smooth ride out to the reef. Snorkels, masks and fins were provided for rental, and pretty good quality too. But the line to fill out paperwork and get these was very long, so I recommend showing up as early as you can(more than 30 minutes before departure). They also rent«shorty» style wetsuits to keep you warm, but if you like dive below the surface while snorkeling, these make that more difficult. I was glad I passed on the wetsuit, so I could go down to the bottom and examine cool stuff up close. I got a little chilled at the end, but it was worth it. As for the snorkeling itself, the reef was spectacular. We saw myriads of colorful reef fish(including my favorites: trunkfish and cowfish), grouper, jacks, barracuda, crabs, corals and sponges in all shapes and colors, plus a sea cucumber the size of my arm. I’m a little spoiled by scuba boats, where the staff tend to share my nerdiness/fascination with sea-life. The staff on Blue didn’t seem to know or care about that; when I asked some questions about something I saw on the bottom, they handed me a fish identification card as an answer — They were just here to steer and anchor the boat. But otherwise, these staff were friendly and efficient. We tipped them well at the end of our adventure.

The snorkeling trip on Blue is an absolute must. I am the type of person who most definitely did not add snorkeling to my bucket list, however, my husband, sister-in-law, brother-in-law and nephew all were going so I decided to try it rather than stay back by myself. BEST. DECISION. EVER! [Insert«The Chad» here.] Who or what is «The Chad» you ask? Only the most entertaining First Mate ever. Honestly, the minute he opened his mouth I knew I was on the right boat. What we all thought was going to be just a 3 hour snorkeling trip turned into the best, most memorable trip to the Keys we’ve had because of him. He’s hysterical, extremely smart and you can tell he definitely knows his stuff which made me feel safe even though I’m a big baby(who, come to find out, develops mad swimming skills after seeing all the fish that were actually under my legs). We had so much fun singing and dancing, swimming and sunbathing that we decided to get off the boat, take our showers and head right back for the Sunset Cruise a little later that night for round two, minus the snorkeling. He and Andy make a great team and we cannot wait to go back and do the trip again. Kudos to Sundance for hiring the absolute best!
