Went to Pete Mesquite this past Sunday and was surprised how much nicer it looks than it did but your ago great food clean and pleasant atmosphere ordering took a little longer than we would’ve liked but overall four stars

This place could be a great restaurant but there is no organization and the staff has no clue. They keep trying to improve but failing big time! Prices are way too high. Always seem to get our order wrong.

I think the customer service was great! but the concept of the line was sorta confusing, I heard it went under construction, got a new building & things changed quite a bit. If I go back i would probably try to BBQ not the Burger, I wouldn’t just NOT try it, you could like it, I’m also pregnant & a little picky at the moment :) By all means it wasn’t terrible just not a favorite.

Food was good. Peanut butter pie was excellent. Food could have been warmer, served at room temperature. Nice atmosphere but because the door was open there were a few flies. Ugh I don’t like flies landing in my food

Worst food ever! The burgers lacked flavor and fell apart the moment you pick it up to take a bite. The French fries were over cooked. It took more than 30 mins to get a burger. The staff had no clue what they were doing. They were all running around like chickens with no heads. Lets just say it was not what I was expecting. We stopped by on our way to sweetberry farms and now I am regretting not stopping at Whataburger.

My wife and I had breakfast here this morning for the first time, and it was great! We both had an omelet and hash browns. The omelet was the best I’ve had in a long time if not ever. The server had a great personality and took care of our every need. Thank you for a great experience. This may just be our new breakfast spot.

At one time when it was Peete Mesquite BBQ it was pretty decent food. My wife and I decided to try the new place«Peetes Country Kitchen» yesterday and it was a mistake that we paid for the rest of the afternoon. She ordered a chopped brisket sandwich, and I had what was allegedly sliced brisket but it would’ve been more appropriately titled chunked brisket. Mine was tough, and we both had horrible indigestion for the rest of the afternoon. I expected the fries to be very good as they are fresh-cut fries, but they could’ve stayed another minute or two in the fryer as well. We are locals and we will definitely not be going back.

Me and my girlfriend decided to grab a chopped beef sandwich on the way back from mountain biking at Pedernales Falls. The sandwich was awesome! The portion was large and the prices were fair. We decided to pass through there again and bought some breakfast tacos. The beans were great, but the brisket and egg taco was a bit greasy. Either way, we are definitely fans. I just hope the customer service is good whenever we decide to stop in the dining hall.

Writing a review about Peetes country kitchen next door… Park if was different as was the menu. It was horrible and hard to read from the sign written above. It was color coded, but it was so very chaotic. I hope they opt to get a printed sign that is easier to read. They had printed out menus, which looked like a poorly executed version on MS Word. The plates on which the food was on reminded me of being in the DEFAC. I had a flashback to terrible food and I should have trusted the flashback. The brisket was dry and the pulled pork was also, but it was drowned in BBQ sauce so you couldn’t tell. Staff was nice and let me have a regular cup for water. Overall I would avoid.

Portions are good size, I got the brisket, Mac and cheese, green beans. The brisket was dry, lacked flavor, and I didn’t finish it, that was a big disappointment, the Mac and cheese was gummy, the green beans were OK, I prefer mine a little less cooked however, they were done too soft, the inside is filled with animal mounts on the wall, service was acceptable, fast and friendly, OK place, however I didn’t try the other food they have, might be alright, but I judge by the brisket most times.

Ok. So just passing through town, on a Sunday morning. We see this place is «Now Open» for breakfast. Short line inside to order. Menu looks good. What can go wrong, right? OMG! Famous last words… We placed our order, got our coffee and sat down and waited. And waited. And waited… We saw several groups before and after us get up, get a refund and leave. And we waited. Still… 55 minutes later we finally got our order. 3 gals trying hard to get orders together, 7 people in the kitchen and they couldn’t keep up. Amazing lack of leadership. On to the food. So, my wife had pancakes. They were very good. Nice and flavorful. Pretty good. She ordered crispy bacon… See the pic. Hmmmm For my food, the toast was dead stone cold and dry, the hash browns were half done and cold. On the plus side the eggs were perfect and the chicken fried steak and gravy was really good. So in a nutshell– food was sort of ok, but don’t come for breakfast unless you have lots of time on your hands and the patience of a saint. Hope their BBQ is better…

Daily deal is good, but the ribs are dry. I’ve had them several times, and they were particularly dry today. I’ve been pretty happy with the other food I’ve had from here.

My new favorite hamburger! The hand pressed burger was cooked exactly like I like it with a delicious smoky flavor. The bun was home made sour dough – yum! I added bacon and cheddar cheese. French fries were great, too. I only ate half the burger to save room for dessert. My husband and I shared so we could try one of each – banana pudding and peach cobbler. Both truly tasted homemade. The peach cobbler was the best I’ve had served warm with vanilla bean ice cream. The banana pudding was NOT a grainy texture(which I can’t stand) as if it was put together with cool whip like so many places do. Instead the pudding was the real old fashioned homemade hand cooked style. Also had just the right amount of bananas and vanilla wafers. So good! The cleanliness and service were A+.

This was yummy food. I didn’t actually get any bbq, but I did get some good fried chicken, mac n cheese and fried okra. Oh man… super yummy goods. Also, my friend’s hubby suggested we try their cobbler and seriously was the best peach cobbler I have had in a very long time. Oh man… I want to go back just for that.

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a BBQ restaurant? Brisket, right? I am dog sitting and decided what the heck I’ll stop in at Peetes for some dinner tonight. I call and make sure they have chicken before heading up there and they assure me they have chicken and they are open till 7. I load up the dog and head over to find out they are out of chicken after I have already ordered. I get to the window and as he hands me my change he says«I’m sorry we’re out of chicken can I get you something else» I said sure I’ll just have turkey and he offers to throw in a second meat so I said sure how about some brisket. So I’m thinkin’ okay great I’ll have a little bit left over for later. I get home, take a bite of the brisket and it is literally not editable. It’s hard and dry. I honestly could not even chew it. I mean sure, it’s a bbq place and it’s the end of the day but cmon. I love supporting local business’s but I feel so disrespected when I pay $ 11 for food I can’t even eat! The turkey was fine, the potato was cooked perfectly and the beans were great! The sauce has a nice flavor, too! Can’t say I’ll be back anytime soon:(

Second visit in two weeks, came back to see if the service issues had improved. Although they seemed to have plenty of people working, it took 25 minutes to get food & it didn’t seem like anyone was in charge. Smoked chicken was ok, the meat in the brisket wrap was good, but the tortilla was dry & hard. Placement of utensils, napkins & sauce is awkward, the giant menu signs are overwhelming to read, order taking was slow. The daily veggie was creamed spinach but they didn’t know how to input it into the system. Don’t even have a group & need separate checks! Bbq needs napkins at the table… I had to swim upstream to get more. The four top tables have the wrong support placement to sit comfortably. And ‘warm buns’ are creepy. Unplug them & have the towel dispenser give more than a tiny towel at a time… Really hope the process improves as we don’t have that many dining options around.

We saw this place on our way back north and I am happy we stopped. The serving size was very generous and they had 6 different sides to choose from. I had corn on the cob, baked potato and pork spare ribs. The food was simply delicious. Lunch for both my wife and I was only $ 19.68, including drinks. We will definitely be back.

I’m at around a 2.5 — it’s ok, but the best bbq claims need to be lived up to… The portions are hearty, and the meats are plenty decent. The turkey is nice and tender; so is the brisket. But there wasn’t anything that made them particularly spectacular. The jalapeño sausage is kinda nice: not a boring sausage; has a nice slow, building heat, but starts bland and fatty before it gets to the fun part. I wasn’t a fan of the pulled pork. It seemed like maybe it wasn’t too fresh; maybe that’s why. The sides: pinto beans are kinda plain, but still deliver for a bean-lover like me. Simple and classic, and there was a nice bean soup to sop up with white bread. The potato salad is mustardy and has a sweet tangy zing. I enjoyed the flavors, but the texture was a bit too whipped/smooth for my fancy. Cole slaw is on the sweet side. I liked it, and it helped the pulled pork(in concert with their vinegary sauce). I want to give this spot a solid A-OK!, but I felt something lacking. Maybe it was being there at an off-time, but the southern folks didn’t seem especially friendly or proud of what they’re doing, which must be part of the experience for me. I mean, Cooper’s is so enthusiastic about what they do that I give ‘em a pass on their lame sausage and inconsistent brisket and focus on the pork chops/loin/pots o beans with cartoon hearts over my head. So maybe it’s just me. Or maybe this spot is just decent bbq if you happen to be hungry in the area. I’d recommend it for that; wouldn’t make a pilgrimage for it.

Hard to believe this place gets good reviews. The food is not cooked or seasoned well. The service is laughable. They cannot seem to get anything straight and even failed to get my order at all. Ended up sitting there while everybody else ate. This is second time I have experienced poor service and mediocre BBQ. DON’T WASTEYOURTIMEANDMONEY.

This place is a small hair from being a 5 star spot. I actually really enjoyed it but I cannot bump it up just yet. I really enjoyed this brisket a lot it was really tender and just fell apart. This reminded me of brisket I would make at home. Turkey was really moist and had a good flavor. I actually would love this turkey on a sweet roll with some sauce as a sandwich. The ribs were tender but the flavor was just pretty standard. With the quality of the brisket and turkey I wish they would get a bit adventurous with their rib rub, Outside of driving to Cooper’s you cannot do any better than Peete’s in the Marble Falls area.
