Love the chips and salsa, great margarita, and great food! One of the better Mexican places on the northshore!

In regards to the food, this place is definitely one of the better-quality Mexican restaurants I’ve been to on the North Shore. This food isn’t Cajun-Mexican like a few places on Rt. 1 — it’s 100% authentic Mexican food. Loved it. Had the chicken fajitas, came out steaming hot and the chicken was cooked in with the veggies for a delicious dish. Four stars because of the service. It was very poor, to say the least. It took a while for a server to come to our table, she didn’t come back too many more times, and we had to ask multiple times for our waters to be refilled while we were having spicy queso(we asked, nothing happened — we had to ask another lady who wasn’t our server). If you’re hankering for a quality Mexican meal but don’t need the highest standard of restaurant service, this is the place for you!

It was busy at my favorite Mexican place so we gave this a try. I will say its pretty good alternative. The chips and salsa weren’t my favorite. The chicken fajita had a lot and it was pretty good honestly. It was flavorful and had quite a bit on the plate

This was my first visit to this restaurant and I called in food ahead for pickup. I ordered the arroz con pollo and specifically said no mushrooms about 4 times including confirming when I picked it up. Yet, when i got home, lots of mushrooms. I’m not allergic, I just don’t like them but for someone who is allergic, beware. The serving size is good enough for two. There were lots of onions and peppers in it as well and all of it was well cooked, but I’ve had better. I was disappointed to find out they don’t have sweet plantains being they’re a Spanish restaurant but I can’t hold it against them for the purposes of this review. The reason I’m scoring this a 2-star is because they failed to get me the food the way I wanted after specifically confirming it with them and also that it was just good but not great. I may go back to try something different but when I do, I’m dining in so that if its wrong again, I can send it back.

We love this place! Great, shareable portion sizes, reasonable prices, and delicious food. The live music on Sunday evenings is really fun and makes for fun special outings(for birthday dinners with friends/kids/etc). Highly recommended! I wish they had a few more vegetarian options, but overall, Casa Corona is a win.

I love casa carona! Their food is very good and the staff is wonderful. The lunch deal is the best, and I try to frequent their lunch service as often as possible. The ground beef burrito with enchilada sauce and cheese is to die for. Its a great addition to Marblehead for Mexican food. I used to solely go to howling wolf but since trying casa carona that has changed. Keep it up!

I love this place! They have friendly staff, great margaritas, and really good food! They hand squeeze the limes for the margaritas and they also have a really fantastic house tequila which is sweet and delicious. The prices are really reasonable and they have a nice fresh homemade salsa. I’ve tried the carne asada, tacos, enchiladas and the arroz con pollo-all were great. This place is a hidden gem and you should absolutely give it a try if you haven’t already! I think they may have just opened another location in Lynn as well…

This turns out to be a big nope! I was looking forward to this as Unilocal said 4 stars! It started out promising with the chips and salsa that had a little heat to it, but went downhill from there. The steak Paisano was so over cooked(asked for med rare and came it well done) and hubby said it tasted like dirt! He never sends back food and will usually just tough through it, but he did with this entrée. The waiter was very apologetic and offered to get another but he decides to get tacos instead. Note: tacos are hard shell. The enchiladas were lacking and the chicken was so dry as was the rice which seemed like it was old. It was crunchy! The saving grace was the retried beans. Perhaps we went here on and«off“day, but very doubtful we’ll be back. I give this place 2 stars because our waiter was very nice. P. s. The bathrooms(which were very clean) are very small, you almost have to sit sideways because your knees hit the wall! Yikes!

This is great Mexican fare. A nice atmosphere, blending restaurant with a cantina. Good food is the main attraction, but they’ve got tequila too. There are tv screens at the bar, with sports and news, and traditional art on the walls. Soft music playing not too loud. It’s well lit, and a great place to have a conversation. Take out is available. I recommend you try the loco burrito, fantastic.

Very pleasant surprise. Waitress was a sweetheart, margaritas were worth the $ 12, as good as my own. Food was reasonably priced, properly prepared and presented nicely. I had the carne asana and enjoyed it. It got very busy by about 6:30, so I was happy we came early. Family atmosphere.

Have never eat in only take out which for some reason is never right. Last time I ordered tamales and I they gave me chili rellenos?! Always check your take out before you leave the restaurant that’s my advice.

Felix, is a great restaurant owner. A little tough in the beginning, no liquor license, they have a full one now, they rock the drinks. His staff is very is friendly/welcoming. I know, I know, I started talking about a restaurant by talking about the staff, great group of people. The food, everything and I mean everything, is made to order. My wife tells me she has never had carne asada better, anywhere else.

We randomly visited nearby Casa Corona on a weeknight just to try a new place. It’s a quiet unassuming place from the outside, in a neighborhood that we recognized from our bike trail rides. But when you walk inside, it’s like happy Fiesta Land! Bright Mexican colors, music, and a nice bar. Not too big and not too small. All the usual cervezas y margaritas are here, thankfully. Service is very nice and attentive. But the star of the show is, by far, the food! I took one bite of my Camarones Mexicanos and immediately died and went to heaven. It’s just shrimp and mushrooms and green peppers in a luscious tomato sauce over rice with cheese with a few avocado slices, but holy frijoles, it was amazing!!! Big reward for branching outside of my burrito box. Go here. You can tell me gracias later.

Full REAL bar means they can make REAL margaritas — * side note– if the place has only beer/wine– that means they dont have a liquor license, that means they cant make a real margarita because real margaritas require tequila. * This is the most authentic Mexican food place I’ve had in BOSTON. Period. I’m sure its not the only one but its the best one I’ve had. Real Mexican food. Real Mexican dishes. Quality is great– Service is great. We had a margarita each — Camarones Mexicano(mexican shrimp) and I had Huevos Rancheros(eggs wh salsa on top of eggs wh a side of rice and beans) i paid extra for a side of carne asada — its my version of steak and eggs… my god was it good… Do yourself a favor and skip ALL the other«Mexican» places on the north shore and get yourself to Casa Corona.

Came for lunch. My third for lunch. Asked for chorizo, which most authentic Mexican spoys have. Ordered a chimichanga with spiced ground beef. Service quick and the order came in five minutes. Three other patrons were there so the place was empty. The plate was very hot and nicely laid out with avocado, sour cream, rice, retried beans and the chimichanga. All good but the ground beef was flavorless. Also they served hot nacho chips with salsa prior to the main serving. They now have a full service bar. Will be back and try other dishes.

For what it’s worth, I wish I could give them 3 ½ stars. My husband and I have tried it twice now — once as take out and once dining in. I hate reviewing a place based on take out as you don’t always get the foot got and fresh from the kitchen so I reserved my judgments and accolades for an in-person visit. I started with the red sangria. It was fruity and fresh. No complaints there. We sat at the bar so while waiting for the bartender I gazed around a bit. The place is remarkably clean and organized. Very impressed in that regard. We started with the«cheese dip» from the appetizer list. White cheddar and jalapeños. It was spicy with a kick, but thinner than most queso dips. I ate it anyway, so I can hardly judge. For my meal, I got the Corona Burrito with shredded chicken. When it came out, it looked epic. Huge portion size, healthy dollops of guacamole and sour cream. It wasn’t bad at all… but it was fairly bland. The chicken alone had no discernible flavor whatsoever so it dragged down the other more developed flavors. I would get the burrito again but I would definitely go with the pork or beef instead to amp up the flavors. All in all, solid experience. I am full, have a nice little buzz and would be happy to go back and try more from their extensive menu!
