Grew up in Marblehead and lived there most of my life before ending up in Salem. Crocker Park was one of my favorite«gotta get out and clear my head» places to just chill. I still love to park downtown and walk to Crocker Park. For gorgeous harbor views in Header town, it’s second only to Fort Sewall. And there are plenty of benches and a gazebo for shade and rain shelter too. You can listen to the gulls and the bell-like clanging of boat riggings, savor the sea breeze and relax. Be sure to check out the medieval-style«castle» abutting the park.

Written by Brady the Dog: «This is where I go to have fun with all the other doggies, I can smell their pee calling cards all over this park; I left mine all over as well. Sometimes me and my family will sit on a bench and look at the harbor. In the summer time there are so many boats, in the winter and fall it is just as beautiful. I come here at least twice a day to walk my family, I have them trained so well they pick up my poo with complimentary scented poo bags provided to the public at Crocker Park. I hope to see all you other dogs there. Get your family to go. Woof!»

This is one of my favorite outdoor spots in the entire Boston area. The park is tiny, but the views from the hill of Marblehead Harbor far below are stunning – perhaps the best waterfront view within the Route 128 belt. There isn’t much to do here, but there are plenty of benches as well as a shaded pavilion, so it is a great place to bring a lunch and a good book and relax for a couple of hours.

Wow, what a view. Seriously… If you have never seen Marblehead Harbor before, you *must* come here. It’s quite stunning, just like Elaine C said. As far as parks go, I didn’t see much of a play area, but that didn’t stop kids from running around. They made it their own play area, jungle gym be damned. I like that. There’s even rocks for the kiddies to climb on, with parental supervision, of course. This is a great spot to come with the family or to come solo with a blanket and book. I could read here for hours and hours and hours…

This park is located in Old Town, Marblehead. It is right up the street from the Boston Yacht Club. You walk up a hill to find a small area overlooking Marblehead Harbor and all of the sailboats and yachts. It is quite a stunning vista. There are many benches on which to perch. They allow swimming in a small area off a dock at the base of Crocker Park. Also in Crocker Park is the famous Herreshoff Castle which I understand is now a bed and breakfast in their carriage house. It is quite a sight to see as well. Old Town Marblehead is a great place to walk. The houses here are quaint and have very small yards. The houses are right next to each other, but the yards that they do have are immaculately kept and the window boxes are extraordinary. I love walking here.
