At the end of 2011 I bought a very, very old home built in 1723. It was and is a great house, but to be blunt it needed a lot of love. Address is 1 Mechanic Street in Marblehead. In Feb of this year I contracted with Jamie, the guy with his name of the door. I went into this project with my eye’s open to the fact it was going to be a complicated project. There were several unknowns due to the age of the house and the condition of the house that made the project risky and stressful. I should also say that this is my 3rd time taking on an extensive renovation, so I do have some scars on my back from painful lessons learned. After working with Jamie and his firm for 6 months I can say I would use him over and over again. He and his staff were able to adapt to large and complex projects. You can’t help but have an enormous amount of trust and confidence(critical in these types of projects) when working with him. Work was A+ Communication was A+ Planning A+ In addition, he has strong on staff design help that really came in handy as little treats were uncovered. Things such as substructures that had been destroyed by termites in the center of the load bearing members of the house. This vendor gets my strongest recommendation. Regards, Happy Customer Just for your reference this was the scope of work. Post and Beam house built 1723. Re-Wire Add 1 on-suite master bath and one half bath. Re-build first floor load bearing structure. Built in entertainment until and serious man cave. Re-designed and built main foyer.
